FAQs - booking Skiathos flights

  • Are there any airport hotels at Skiathos Airport?

No, due to the limited opening hours at Skiathos Airport there aren't any hotels on the airport premises. However, there are two hotels in the vicinity of the airport: Stellina Hotel and Ifigenia Hotel. You could reach either on foot in 15-25min, or take a 2-3min taxi ride from the airport.

  • Can I get any accessibility assistance at Skiathos Airport?

Yes, you can. If you have reduced mobility or want to bring your recognised service dog on board, let your airline know either when you book your ticket, or at least 48h in advance; they'll make sure everything is ready for you at the airport and on the plane. When you arrive at the airport, you can access extra assistance by presenting yourself at the airline check-in desk.

  • Can I fly direct from London to Skiathos?

Yes, TUI Airways offers a direct route between London Gatwick (LGW) and Skiathos. It doesn't depart daily, so you may not have much choice when it comes to choosing a flight time, but there are multiple flights per week. The duration of TUI Airways' direct flights is around three hours 30min, which means you'll save around 2h to 2h 30min compared to the fastest flights on this route with one stopover.

  • How should I get from Skiathos Airport (JSI) to Skiathos Town?

You can get a taxi from the taxi rank outside the front of the terminal; official taxis are silver and have a "Taxi" sign on their roof. You could also ask your hotel whether they offer airport pickups, as it's fairly common practice in Skiathos.

  • How far is Skiathos Airport from central Skiathos?

There are 1 mile between Skiathos city centre and Skiathos Airport.

  • What is the name of Skiathos’s airport?

When flying to Skiathos, you'll arrive at Skiathos Airport (JSI). The airport is also known as Skiathos, Skiathos Airport ‘Alexandros Papadiamantis’, or Skiathos Intl.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights to Skiathos?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights to Skiathos.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket to Skiathos?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight to Skiathos is likely to change within 7 days, so travellers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights to Skiathos?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly to Skiathos with an airline and back with another airline.

  • Flights from London to Skiathos with at least one stopover are typically much cheaper than direct flights; the most common stopover airport on this route is Athens Airport (ATH).
  • There are a few cafes and restaurants at Skiathos Airport, scattered both airside and landside (mainly in the Departures Area), so even if you're rushing for your flight you'll still be able to grab a bite to eat.
  • Athens Airport is larger than Skiathos Airport, and serves more airlines. It's also reachable from Skiathos by ferry. If you're looking to plan your trip on a budget, consider flying into Skiathos and then catching a ferry and flying back from Athens; the greater variety in flight choices means you may have better luck finding cheaper flights. Ferries cost from €20 to €34 (approx. £22 to £40), and the whole journey takes up to 5h.
  • If you don't mind making a self-transfer, you're likely to save money on this route by booking a flight with multiple airlines; for example, if you fly WizzAir to Athens Airport, then transfer to an Olympic Air flight to Skiathos Airport.

Waiting for 2 people to come through security that delayed the flight. Everyone else made it on time, should have left without them. Flight was cold.

The staff are just so friendly travelling alone was a bit scary but they made me feel comfortable and nothing was to much bother I loved how one of the girls was talking to the old ladies she really took time thank you jet2 shame I can’t get home with u guys 🥲

Crew was nice. Plane was crowded, Seats wouldn’t lean back. No free treats or drinks (not even water).

The flight was over an hour late taking off. Air traffic control on the outward flight caused the delay. Horrendous passport queue at Malaga. Families with children must dread it. Another Brexit negative

On time flight. Reasonable comfortable but a bit cramped. Excellent jet 2 staff as usual.

This is my second flight with jet 2. Both been great - lovely helpful staff. Will fly with you again

Felt very cramped, seat quality poor and temp way too warm with little ventilation. Persistent ramming of duty free ‘bargains’ donut throats. Food & drink service glacially slow.

A good flight with friendly crew and check-in but disembarking was chaotic and badly managed

The food was nice but same pud and crackers as on the way there should be different

Flights were on time, boarding was straight forward. Very good attentive staf

The food and so are to expensive and old . Crew whas not very friendly . Apparently some other passenger can just Push through the waiting people to board while almost punching me and a father with a child down the stairs. Its always something with easy jet . The seats of row 26 where lose . And for a guy of my size there is absolutely no leg room at all .

Nice to fly out of Orly smaller easier to navigate airport. Being able to receive boarding pass well in advance of trip was comforting to know all travel was in order.

Liked. The check-in was pretty quick as they had 5 desks working.

Generally a good experience except for boarding in Naples on the flight back to London. We were all standing around for at least 20 minutes maybe longer as there was no seating.

Seats, WC,sizes for today's generation adults, and if technical problems arise a complimentary coffee, water nice for waiting one hours, the rest is perfect (pilot and cabin crew)

The terminals are far away, be prepared to walk. Also, You climb stairs to the plane since there are no aero bridges. Boarding was haphazard not in multiple groups, so stand in line early. Hard to find place to stow cabin baggage if you are behind in the line. You can purchase food on the plane. There are vegetarian options.

First -the flight was late - more than two hours Second, not even a bottle of water at bord to give for free for this inconvenience. Three-at landing ive realised that I've lost one of my ear plug headphones and been very desperate to find it with my torch, the crew not helped at all more than that they asked to leave the plane as everyone did before me. This was the last flight from that day- extra 5 min for me with a bit of help from crew - would have bring a super review. I guess this days humanity disappeared!

I got caught using a stolen credit card number. Michelle Siziba is my name Nice to London Gatwick on 7/31/25.

We accidentally purchased twice the bags we needed. Our fault, but the ticket was not clear to us, and it asked us to purchase bags at checkin. When we notified them to get credit back at the airport, they said to contact customer service. We flew the flight and then contracted customer service. They said no credits after the flight has flown. Not customer service oriented at all. They know we didn’t check that many bags and kept our money for a service they did not provide. Be aware and very careful of what you are purchasing from them because they will not make it right if there is an error.

sadly in Basel & Naples- no jetway we had to climb up and down stairs with our max size carry-on luggage, which was not fun!!!

Paid for exit row at the back of the plane. Window seat with lots of leg space. Food was inedible (as usual). Brought my own.

Efficiency of staff, and comfort and cleanliness of aircraft was all great. Maybe a hot drink without payment at that time in the morning would be good!

Booked Economy but it translated to economy light for Lufthansa so now we are stuck paying an extra $75 per person both ways for our checked bags. If I had known that, I would have never booked these tickets because it came out to be more than other options. The booking in the kayak side clearly says Economy and has a link to the inormation for Lufthansa which states Economy included a checked bag. Super annoyed about that.

The plane was late (as was my flight out from Birmingham the day before)

Nice people, efficient and professional, high quality, and well-run. Everything you want in a flight!

The crew was the best I’ve ever encountered. Business class was spacious, immaculate, and very modern.

The flight was delayed by an hour. Made the connection uncomfortably tight.

When we went to the lounge they told us to go into the main lounge and not the full business class section, later they told me that Lufthansa wont pay the full fee to alloq the business class passengers entry to the nicer sectikn where all the other airlines nusiness class passengers go into. Very poor arrangement.

Delayed over 2 hours. Bring your own snacks or prepare to pay. No entertainment and no plug plugs for charging.

Not what I expected for the last leg of a $5100 business class experience. Boarding was a nightmare. The flight was delayed and I had to keep checking my email to ensure I was at the right gate since the airline or the terminal had no clue until 15 mins prior to boarding. Food was gross, limited drink options.

Overall, the food and entertainment were great. The staff were amazing, polite and professional. They did not have WiFi on board on this leg but that was okay. There was a delay in boarding from London and landing at Mumbai airport but the pilot communicate DC the reason for the delayed landing. They even sent us an apology afterwards for the delayed landing.

Big queues on arrival at airport despite having already checked in and only needed to drop bags off. Flight delayed which impacted on connecting flight.

I was in a bulkhead seat and my tray table wasn't level. Eating was difficult.

Nice lounge but had a 5 hour layover which is a lot

Flight on time and priority boarding worked. I travelled economy although business was available as no flights are cheap these days and at least with BA loyalty card I get a baggage allowance for nothing. That made the flight comparable or even cheaper than the ‘budget’ alternative. As for catering and entertainment - not on a BA short haul economy ! At least we were offered biscuits and water! Catering for economy short haul has been reduced to the minimum - no tea or coffee or other drinks than water (from a large bottle with a paper cup on offer). They will say this is better for the environment, which it is, but proper waste management is still needed for empty packets etc. so actually it’s a money saver.

Audi visual not working for a whole group of seats in first class. How does a plane leave the main hub in such poor condition? How much that we can’t see so immediately is also compromised?

The check-in baggage belt was broken (which is understandable) but what was surprising is they would check you in, give a baggage tag and then you have to drag the baggage to a different counter at the end of airport. No vegetarian option in in-flight meal. British Airways remains the worst big name airlines and always my last option while booking.

main meals are horrible but then you dont fly for the food

It was good. Couldn’t Check in online and select seats

It was great. Enough space and room for legs . Great service to.

Fine, charter flights. Plane full, and staff nice and friendly. No option for free food or drink. Entertainment through paid app.

The 737-8 is too small for the length of flight especially if there are any delays

The flight was delayed over 2 hours, we should off left the plane2 late passengers as it’s not fair on everyone who’s followed the rules.

Dreamliner. Yes great if maintained. I didn't see anyones screen work consistently during either of our flights. Worse was their ability to not only dump you out of premium but separate couples and seat someone's carer at the opposite end of the aircraft. This poor gentleman had no hand so his partner who assists him, being seated at the other end of the aircraft, well that really showed us all what Tui think :( It was fairly dire all in all, they advertise all the perks of the dreamliner only in reality you don't have the features and they change the windows and colours to suit their constant sales pitches. Ironically they were so low on stock for the return flight that all their sales pitches were a waste of time! Their contract only favours them and 'operational changes' well they cover every excuse and Tui use it. Surprisingly we haven't reinstalled the Tui app or booked with them since. It's a shame as I rated them highly during the pandemic.

One flight attendant not wearing a mask over nose, 50% of passengers not either, and no effort to correct. Boarding was very late with no information - lots of standing around waiting.
