Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Although we were over a how late leaving the cabin crew were professional and polite. An absolute credit to the company."
Cons: "Make all seats non-recline and more sturdy, I don't want to be able to feel the person behind leaning on it or their knees pushing through into my back."
Pros: "Actually getting on board!"
Cons: "The fact that something was clearly wrong before we started to go outside and when it was raining we were left outside with no apology at all and when we boarded the communication/apologies were scant"
Pros: "Used tissue stuck in the seat from previous flight ."
Cons: "I did not take the flight. I could not get my money back."
Cons: "The announcements made by the main air steward were mostly unintelligible due to a very strong Spanish accent."
Pros: "Well organised and efficient staff; very pleasant and polite"
Cons: "Airport was too far and the facilities are shite. The waiting for embark is way too long and no one informs you about anything."
Pros: "Leaving and getting back safe"
Cons: "The seats could be more comfortable"
Pros: "Nothing they charged me an extra 55 euros since i couldn't checkin online."
Cons: "Ryanair has hidden fees and customer service is very poor"
Cons: "The problem with random seat allocation is if you pay to sit somewhere then that should be fine, no. Today I was constantly asked if I wouldn’t mind swapping seats so the passenger could be closer to their partner which is always going to be an inferior seat or worse sat in the middle seat. Their random seat allocation therefore can inconvenience seat paying passengers not a quality experience."
Cons: "Unfortunately, I had no other option than flying low-cost. Bought the most expensive ticket I could to be in first row and have enough overhead bin space, but that still did not help the situation of a very disorganized boarding, very uncouth flight attendants, uncomfortable seats, absolutely no free drinks (not even a bottle of water), constant selling of useless things, people using the toilet in the front, obnoxious travelers, and getting yelled at. Also, contrary to what was suggested on the Ryanair web site regarding fast check-in, priority boarding and access to lounges, none of those Flying 200+ legs per year on Star Alliance flights in business and up, I truly hope I never have to take such a horrendous flight again."
Pros: "The flight attendants were very friendly, courteous and professional."
Cons: "Literally everything from checking in to seat and baggage is unnecessarily monetized."
Cons: "Being told off for bringing my duty free bottle of wine an drinking it mid flight. They ran out of wine on way over. I didn’t see anywhere where you can’t drink your own beverage??? Was quite embarrassing I have to say. I drank it anyway. What was I supposed to do with it??"
Pros: "Price, flight crew."
Cons: "The gate was in a sheet-metal hangar outside the terminal alongside the parked plane, no bathroom or seating. We had to line up for the plane outside in the night air for 30 minutes before boarding. We were overcharged for checked baggage."
Cons: "The flight was delayed 40min without any explanation or announcement from captain. We just sat on the runway for 40min."
Cons: "One hour late departure insufficient information Had to be bussed to plane negating any value for paying for priority Parked off stand at Birmingham had to use steps from plane and into terminal wife has arthritis and can’t carry bags I had to carry two bags down steps unable to use handrail really quite dangerous no apology re delay"
Pros: "it was 1 hour flight so it was really great"
Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "We boarded on time but ended up 30 minutes late due to the staff running around like headless chickens, seemed very unorganised. Guy making announcements on the plane spoke so fast you couldn’t understand a word. Engine made a terrible buzzing noise for half the flight, so loud you had to shout to hear anyone."
Pros: "Ryan Air’s website was down most of the evening when I attempted to check in. Once it finally came back, they had no record of my booking. After hours of attempts I had to call it quits. I will report this as fraud to my bank. I had to book another flight. Thanks, guys. Great platform you’ve built here."
Pros: "Good coffee"
Cons: "Delayed by around 100 minutes. No soup no tea."
Pros: "The captain and fly was nice. Just it is hapenned someone feeld seek and we was weiting for emergency. Our fly was latte 1htoour 50 minutes"
Cons: "Additionnal for our fly was late 1hour 50 min we need waiting for the baggage 30 min. When i made check-in i got 2 different seet in difgerent line farroway and lot of another people same me. Mother in lane 21 the son line 9 .Sorry for my English."
Pros: "That I finally got to Marrakesh."
Cons: "Price was outrageous. check-in a nightmare. their site said technical problem, Ryanair staff person said she would explain to check-in woman who promptly said no! Download the check-in and return after 50 minutes in line! Or pay 55 Euro for us to do it! No helpful; Awful service; Ticket sales people after queing for another 30 minutes-same no help-just put new client all this from 4:45 am in the airport. Finally with 10 minutes to spare before being blocked off the flight; check-in deemed to check me and suitcase it requesting 20 Euro. I refused...other passengers got mad so she let me pass. Small crowded plane/no leg room/ constant hostess annoucing buy duty free, food. No landing cards provided! Nothing-you pay, do it all and you are lucky to arrive--NOT WORTH THE HASSLE AND STRESS."
Pros: "Food was hot and tasty."
Cons: "Near 2 hour delay."
Pros: "2 hours late. Didn't tell us in English why. Changed Gates the times. Say on plane when we finally boarded for 45 minutes."
Cons: "See above"
Pros: "we did not receive the boading check in pass even we did an online check in and end up we have to pay 55pounds extra"
Pros: "It flew"
Cons: "Delayed over an hour with no communication. Wouldn’t let us check in online and then we’re penalized $150 to check in at airport. Boarding stared and we waited on the gate for 30+ min along with all other passengers. No communication from crew. No crew or staff working gate. No gate announced until after flight departure time. Overall awful."
Pros: "Prompt departure and arrival in Belfast. Brand new aircraft was a bonus."
Cons: "The white wine I got was undrinkable. I told the strewart working at the back of the aircraft that ' the white wine is terrible, it's like drinking water and indrinkable'. His reply was ' well that's what you ordered'. I expected him to say; Sorry you found it like that and I will pass your comments to the catering company. this may sound like a trivial thing to comment on but I found his attitude very unprofessional. My wife and I also found the staircase from ground level to the corridor leading to passport control very demanding when carrying a 10 kilo roller case each. There is a lift somewhere but there are no directions to indicate where it is situated."
Pros: "Arrived earlier than original time."
Cons: "The gate was not announced until 20 mins before the gate closed time."
Pros: "The price of the ryanair flights are great, and will probably be the reason I continue to use them"
Cons: "I am not bothered that there was no in flight entertainment, or that everything cost extra, a lot extra, like drinks (2.5Euros for a can of cola). It’s what you’d expect from a trip that only cost £14.99 each way... But, the things that don’t cost anything, the things you’d expect from any big brand weren’t there at all. Zero communication from staff about why the fliight was delayed (until we landed at Frankfurt) Zero personality from the staff. They looked unhappy, or overworked, or bored... Lufthansa, British Airways, AA, etc... all happy staff. Staff weren’t even communicating verbally... they mimed a lot of stuff... The safety breif was disorganised and they had to repeat it as the pilot interrupted... and the pilots announcements were very unclear, due to a lack of pronunciation of the words he was saying. If I was to offer a suggestion as to how this could be fixed, Inwould suggest that it has something to do with poor recruiting, low staff morale, or something similar"
Pros: "Good punctual flights."
Pros: "But quick boarding glad I had priority"
Cons: "Having to pay extra on top of fare to sit beside my own wife!!"
Cons: "Check in was a hassle. Had to go through the line twice. The machine wouldn't read my electronic boarding pass. I wasn't the only one."
Pros: "i love ryainair"
Pros: "Seats were more spacious then expected."
Cons: "When checking in I noticed me and my boyfriend were "randomly allocated" seats 10 rows apart. When I called and enquiried about this I was told that I would have to pay to move the seats even though there were 4 seats available next to my boyfriends allocated seat. This is ridiculous seeing as it was not a separate booking and there were plenty of seats available! On the way back my boyfriend was charged 50 euros for a bag which the flight attendant deemed as oversized even though on the way there it was perfectly fine. Her reasoning was that it would have to be put under the plane... When walking to the plane we saw that most people were asked to leave their hand luggage on the tarmac to be put "under the plane" without being charged so essentially we were ripped off yet again!"
Cons: "There was no complimentary food or drinks. The airline attendance checking people in chose different passengers they would make pay to check bags. Bags were checked even though overhead compartments weren't full. The plane was half an hour late leaving. The seats didn't recline."
Cons: "2hr 30 minute delay with no information or vouchers"
Cons: "Staff how it's possible u miss the flight to the front to the gate"
Cons: "£50 x2 charge for not being checked in We checked in 24hrs before hand but they said it wasn't on the system When we checked in we checked our bags in and choose our seats. Absolutely disgusting a £17 flight ended up over £200"
Pros: "The price of the flight and that they had direct from Barcelona to Sofia. Also that they gave us a free checked bag so that we did not have to carry it onto the already cramped plane."
Cons: "The boarding process was slow and late. When we booked the flight it was stated that we got a snack and water, but we had to pay for everything. Drinks were almost double that of other discount carriers that were more comfortable. Also, a very expensive box of chocolates, that we purchased as a gift, was stolen from one of our free checked bags, either in Barcelona or Bulgaria. We did not notice until we got home and unpacked."
Cons: "The female staff member at the gate was extremely loud and rude and tried to charge £50 to get a luggage bag put into the hold after her colleague had approached and offered this service to my friend. She was extremely embarrassed and offended as the staff member insisted that she place the item into a bag measure. The interaction was unnecessary and unwelcome as my friend had not sked for the kind gesture made by the first staff member. As we were seated in the back row, we were subjected to the raucous behaviour of two of the cabin crew members throughout the entire flight which included discussing particular passengers on the flight including their seat numbers and their personal 'differences' with other cabin crew members whom they would be flying with today! The behaviour of the male and female crew members, both of whom appeared to be American, was nothing short of embarrassing for Ryanair and utterly unprofessional, even during service the couple appeared oblivious to the passengers as they carried on in their interactions with each other. It appeared that the only person who was actually working was the attendant at the front of the plane who I believe may have been the flight manager. A fellow passenger even commented that the couple must have been smoking something before the flight to explain this behaviour. Having flown with Ryanair on many occasions and having recommended them to friends and family in the past, we were bitterly disappointed with both these issues and would suggest that they re-examine their customer care!!"
Pros: "Fairly quick and efficient service"
Cons: "It was a cramped and dated plane"
Pros: "I liked that it got me where I wanted to go. The staff was nice."
Cons: "I had to jump through hoops to print a boarding pass even though I had Ryanairs app with a mobile boarding pass. 3 hours of my Sat and Sunday in Barcelona were spent searching for an open copy/print shop. Would have been nice to know more than 48 hours before my flight. I get to the airport after not finding a print shop, expecting to pay through the nose for them to print the tickets for me and they say I didn't even need it. They supply the boarding pass. Wow. The boarding is a joke. They don't board in zones, so the line was literally 180 people long. I wasn't even in the back of the line and it still bothered me. Now let's get to the plane, again, staff and pilot were great. The seats have NO leg room. I have long legs and it was miserable. No seat back pocket to put things. No recline on the seats. The aisle way sagged everytime someone walked past me, leaning my seat toward the aisle. I know, I know, you get what you pay for. This flight I paid for a lesson. That lesson being never never never ever ever ever fly Ryanair again. I would gladly pay a little more money to save my poor knees from being in that position again."
Pros: "The crew was super efficient and sweet, the plane and bathrooms were clean"
Cons: "Boarding was ridicuosly slow and messy.. there is no entertainment on board"
Cons: "Why did I pay for priority boarding? It didn't give me any sort of priority! And then we sat on a wretchedly hot flight for 40 minutes before leaving."
Pros: "Smooth and safe flight"
Cons: "Took forever to board."
