Pros: "Easy boarding."

Cons: "At the moment I bought the tickets, I got in contact with SWISS in order to book the seats and a baby bes for a small baby. However, I was told by the contact center that it was not possible to book seats (not even buying them). I have also tried to do it online, without success. One day before departure, I called again and got the same answer and was told to book seats and baby bes during the check-in at the airport. At the moment of the check-in in Dubai, I was informed exactly the opposite: that I should have requested it via contact center or online up to 48h before the flight!! Personnel at the airport was very impolite. Inside the plan, the crew was very nice and helped us to have seats in front with a small bed for the baby."

Cons: "The food was very poor on all legs of the journey (Boston to Zurich; Zurich to Rome; Rome to Zurich; and Zurich to Boston). Also, the seats were so closely placed (even 'though we were in Economy Plus) that it was nearly impossible to get comfortable if the person in the seat ahead reclined their chair. That made for a very long flight!"

Cons: "We couldn't fly Zurich - Malaga due to a 5 hour delay in our first flight : Washington DC- Zurich. We lost our connection and United (who operated the fight) reschedule our flight wrong first of all, our names didn't appear in Zurich to Madrid flight, and it wasn't enough time to do the connection between Madrid Malaga, so we have to spend one night in Madrid. In addition we lost our luggage. They've ruined our vacations."

Pros: "It all starts with an excellent ZRH airport hub, although their new Schengen segregated train is a real drag. Flight boarding is, as always a First+Business and then "come one, come all", which actually works wonders. The aircraft was clean, unlike many of their Anglo-Saxon competitors. The cabin is, well, beautiful and spacious in the front and just beautiful in the back... The food was very good, the service very professional but a little cool. Pretty standard for a ZRH crew. the seats are excellent, as is the entertainment system. Strong movie selection, no touch screen, due to the fact that the A330's are slowly racking up the years. I have to say, as always, a very, very pleasant experience!"
Cons: "The ZRH air train is a drag. It's completely over capacity since Schengen and non-Schengen traffic was separated. Terminal 4 in JFK has devolved into an absolute third world disaster since Delta arrived. Immigration is painfully slow, customs just plain sucks. I got "randomly checked" once more at customs. Time to shave that beard to make the randomness go away. Delta, why did you have to ruin it for everyone? We had a good thing going with T4 before you showed up."

"Crew could have been more friendly…little-to no smiles…seemed like all business and get the flight over with. Baggage service at Lisbon airport was terrible, between waiting for a discharge belt # to be assigned, waiting for luggage to be loaded onto conveyor belt. All in all waited over an hour for our one suitcase…."

I called Swiss as soon as I landed, and I've told my request was sent but it was never confirmed. They also told me they will send me an email when the basinet for the return flight is confirmed. At this point, I'm not even sure what I paid the $98.93 for."

Cons: "My seat had been given to someone else also, and they boarded before me, so I had no seat for some time. I was told to stand in the back, which I did for a long time. Eventually I sat down on the edge of a place and a stewardess snapped at me. I've had back surgery recently, so all of this was very difficult. Finally given a seat. No internet--big drawback on overseas flights. On our trip there, one bathroom was a mess, plus out of toilet paper. Told the stewardess, and they closed it for a while--took some time for it to be attended to. The entertainment choices are VERY slim--don't know why a more extensive list of choices could not be made available."

Cons: "The return leg has been nothing but a disaster, in every way possible, specifically my time and financially. At no point in the booking process, when I paid over $800 for the trip, was I told that I needed a specific travel visa (Canadian ETA) to fly back into Toronto for my return flight. Subsequently when I checked in for my flight yesterday morning in Manchester, England, I did not have the required travel documents and had to be rerouted onto a flight into the U.S. at a cost to me of $350. The rerouted flight got me to Washington Dulles airport, where I then had to purchase a second flight to get me home to Cleveland, Ohio, at an additional/extra cost of $450. MY CAR IS PARKED AT TORONTO PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT!!! I am having to now rent a car and drive there tomorrow (Friday) to collect my car, at another additional cost of $100 plus a 10-hour round trip. Due to the lack of information and communication on your companies behalf, I am down close to a $1,000 and will lose 2-days in work as of the additional days I am having to travel back to Toronto to collect my vehicle. I would appreciate contact from your organization to find the avenue I need to take for compensation of my time and finances. Regards"

Cons: "This airline has little respect for its customers. In the economy/coach cabin, they squeeze the seat distances to such an extent that, when the person in front of you leans their chair back, you cannot get out of your seat at an upright angle. You have to significantly bend your body. To not loose your balance, you have to grab on to the seat in front of you and that disturbs the other passenger. If they're sleeping, they can be woken up by that. Lufthansa does not care much for its passengers. Nor do many other companies, for that matter, but I think Lufthansa is taking things further than most airlines. It is a disgrace. Their brand is not what it once was."

Cons: "The flight was delayed for 2.5 hours, for a reason they never made clear after they let the passengers wait in line for 45 minutes to board. Once aboard, the Lufthansa planes were much much less comfortable than the Air Canada plane I took to Frankfurt. There is very little space and the seats are crammed together. The food they served was very bad, especially again in comparison with Air Canada. Once we arrived in Toronto, they made us wait nearly an hour before exiting the aircraft. It would seem that the Toronto airport would have to know we were coming and should have prepared accordingly, but apparently not. We sat, several passengers missed their connecting flights and were angry. I nearly missed my flight, having to run and race through customs (who are in no hurry)."

Cons: "In London I was required to ask fro this priority boarding with kids if not asked I would be queuing with small kids for 15 minutes.. (whilst In Frankfurt we have been invited to be boarded as first ones without asking for it.)"

It took me almost 20 minutes to walk to the gate just in time for boarding and was pleased that my bag had made it onto the same flight. There was loads of leg room in economy which as a tall person is really important."

Pros: "The flight was actually an Air Canada flight - a code share with Lufthansa. I had a good flight. The cabin crew were fantastic - very accommodating because I wasn't able to pre-select my vegetarian option online earlier due to the code share. They were very polite and professional. The seats were relatively comfortable and the movies onboard were aired and good. I would fly Air Canada again."
Cons: "I disliked the confusion with the code share. I have never flown a code share before an I was under the impression I was flying Lufthansa - not Air Canada. I really disliked not being able to check in online 24 hours before on either Lufthansa's site or Air Canada. That is ridiculous in this day and age - surely the two airlines can coordinate something were the traveller can check in online on one of the sites. Also, as a vegetarian, I wasn't able to select my meal - I had to hope that they had enough vegetarian meals to give me one. This is another problem thanks to the code share. If this is what code sharing is like, I won't be doing it again. No thanks. I'll book directly."

I checked Lufthansa app and found that only flight that was shown was flight Toronto-Thunder Bay. After 3 hours of phoning I found that flight from Munich to Toronto wasn’t available for date that was given us in email. Only option was day earlier or later. Left us to take day earlier and we could not changed last flight( Toronto- Thunder Bay). We had to come on Aug 22. and stay in Toronto for 27 hours and than take a flight to Thunder Bay on Aug 23. We lost a day of our vacation, had to stay at hotel. Not good experience at all. We still don’t know whom to complain about that."

Cons: "We did not request special meals because in the past there has always been an option without cheese. For both legs of the trip, everything had cheese. They tasted great, but left my husband eating only bread. At the first meal the crew just shrugged their shoulders. Second meal they brought him a snack from business class, but it had cream cheese on the sandwich. Drinks were only served during the meals on an 8 hour flight. When crew came back through at the first meal, they only had two bottles of wine in hand offering top offs (no cart, just physically carrying the bottles). We do not drink alcohol. During the second meal I did not even see them offering the top offs. All other airlines have at least come through a couple of times offering water or soda. Announcements were only audible half the time. Customs forms were confusing for people passing through Canada. This might have been explained over the intercom, but again, it was hard to hear."

It was a large selection of movies with very explicit sexual content. I didn't travel with kids but I was thinking what I would've done if my kids were seated next to a person like I did who was watching this kind of movies.."

Understandable to say the least."

Pros: "The flight attendants were very polite and helpful. The seats had those "wings" on either side of the head rest to help keep your head from bobbing back and forth. There were a few good movies to watch that were current, but a lot of old movies that we had zero interest in."
Cons: "The flight was considered a Lufthansa flight and had a Lufthansa flight number, but was operated by Air Canada. We could not check in online ahead of time for some reason. When we got to the airport, we tried to check in at the Lufthansa kiosk and check in line, but they told us we had to go to the Air Canada area. The ticketing/check in process was very confusing. As for the food, the chicken "wrap" was not a wrap, and was a weird Hot-Pocket type meal. After each meal, we ended up having to hold our garbage for quite some time which made manuvering in and out of seats a little tricky. I wish the seat cushion had a little more cushion since we were sitting for so long. Also at some point the overhead lights came on and stayed on, which was annoying if you were trying to nap."

When we got to our hotel, we had to pay $20 for the transfer to hotel even though he left. Now we have no toothbrush or any change of clothes & hopefully we will get our luggage tomorrow after 2pm"

Cons: "My row was bypassed a couple of times for food/beverage service even though we were wide awake and looking expectantly at the flight attendant. Sometimes she asked me if I wanted a drink or something and as I was answering she looked away and moved on. I couldn't believe it. Then after pressing the service button and waiting a long time for her to return, she acted like it was a huge inconvenience."

Choices of dinner selections ran out quickly, and serving any type of curry (the only option left) on an 8 hour flight is a very questionable choice.... Staff gave some people the full can of drinks, while others only a half glass. Also, even though there was not much turbulence throughout the flight, the plane was still VERY shaky for the majority of the time in the air. Not very comforting for those who are not frequent flyers. In the future, I plan to stick with British Airlines."

This plane needs to be retired it is so old! United Airlines should be embarrassed! I can't believe this plane is still in circulation at least the inside of it! How about updating it to modern times?"

Pros: "We liked that the boarding process seemed to have been streamlined and organized from other flights (this was a UNITED flight which we flew through Austrian Airlines). It was efficiently done. We thought the selection of movies to watch were terrific. So glad to have caught up on several I had wanted to see. Considering we had a 3 hour delay, I got to catch up on ALL the movies I wanted to watch!"
Cons: "The plane was delayed just over 3 hours by a mechanical problem with the radar. We taxied to a remote gate while they tried to fix it. Original estimates were an hour, but it ended up being 3 hours. We stayed onboard which was probably best in this case - but having been trapped by United on a flight many years ago from 4 pm until midnight with 3 small children and then told to come back at 7 am the next day - I am very wary of the airline now and actually drive from Washington to Chicago as we could have done that in the time they trapped us! This flight was practically empty however, so unlike many transatlantic flights, we could spread out and were more comfortable than usual. So that was lucky for United otherwise my scores might have been a LOT worse! Also, we hadn't eaten, figuring that we would eat dinner on the flight. So after 3 hours we were a bit peckish! The crew came around with a cookie and water. Really think that might have been a little more especially considering the flight had so few passengers. So we arrived back in DC just about 10 pm and, after clearing customs and getting bags, were home to Arlington about midnight - 5 am our time! Given the conditions and circumstances, the crew did a good job. I would like to think that Austrian Airlines would have some input with United. The outbound daytime flight from Washington to London had been simply terrific with a wonderful crew - new to the route I think. They gave as pointers as to what we were seeing out the window, which we always appreciate. Just as my daughter wondered what we were seeing out the window, the captain would tell us. So in short, the outbound flight was in a different league to the return flight. But that's down to United and not Austrian Airlines. And these things happen and I'm glad we didn't have to change planes or make other plans."

On my flight to London, a mother with a young child wanted hot water and the staff (middle aged British male) was trying to tell her repeatedly she should say "please" when she asks. She was asking politely so this behaviour was rather poor in my view."

Cons: "None of them reminded me of the fact that I need a transit visa for the UK (I mean, isn't it rediculous? I am just staying there for 5 hours). When I called in for cancellation at the airline, they told me to talk to my agent company Cheaptickets. Cheaptickets simply told me that I can't get any money back, and was extremely arrogant and impatient. Later (for a week I was trying to save this ticket by talking to the British Embassy to see if I can get the visa done and they are just "we can't help you") they told me that I can get a refund of like 30 SGD and they promised to send me an e-mail about it. They never ever did. I also tried to change the dates and the handling fee + fair difference was like 1200 SGD (are you joking?) they simply told me, prices fluctuate... Finally I went to the check in counter desperate. The staff even refused to talk to me about my situation because simply, "there is no BA ticket office in Singapore" and told me to call them. I said the office is closed, but they are like, yeah just call them. They swept me off like a moron. Extremely arrogant, impatient, insensitive. I paid 900 SGD for nothing and a whole week of anxiety and regret. I will never take this and I will never use Cheaptickets or Kayak"

Of course this is a fully acceptable function of flying in that the seat can be tilted back when not having food - the crew did not help at all and I was forced to fly the whole time with soon being rude behind me."

This was our first [ and possibly last] business class flight with BA and will stick with our usual business class airlines e.g. Qantas, Virgin Atlantic , Delta, Fiji Air, Virgin Australia ,etc."

We were obliged to take a 6.5 hour journey from where we were on day 6 (rural Cuba) to personally collect the baggage from Havana airport ourselves. NOT okay, Iberia/BA. Never again."

I was flying business class on flight TP059 on March 4 2018 and have Gold status on Star Alliance. Many passengers had declined dessert and I felt extremely embarrassed by having been denied food on a plane for the first time in my life. The attitude and lack of tact of Comissario Bruno on TP059 spoiled the whole flight experience for me."

Cons: "This event refers to my TAP flight from Lisbon to Heathrow on 21-Jan-2018. We arrived to the airport nearly 2 hours before departure time, waited 35min in the security checks and my girlfriend was held 20min in the passport control. While she was queuing for the 2no police officers to check her passport, an airport assistant came to the queue and asked who was due to board in TP364 to Heathrow. She was made aware that my girlfriend was there due to board that flight. In the meantime I made my way to the gate to make the gate assistants aware that she was held in the passport checks and was already on her way to the gate. Having said that, the zealous assistants in the gate have closed the gate in front of me, 18min before scheduled departure time and - "very kindly" - told me that I wouldn't be boarding that flight anymore even though my girlfriend have arrived in the meantime. One can imagine the frustration I felt finding out that the flight departure was delayed and that the flight actually departed 40min late. At that time I was already suffering the extortion of the customer service from TAP, claiming from me circa 400Eur from each of us for a one way ticket in the next flight to London. Therefore... until I remember this... I AM NOT FLYING TAP ANYMORE... I am very proud of being Portuguese but in similar situations that occurred with me flying British Airways, Lufthansa or Air Italia, I have always been treated with much more respect and customer care!"

Pros: "I love flying TAP because I love having extended layovers in Lisbon. Lisbon itself, including the airport, is easy to navigate. The food is great and the culture and architecture is gorgeous. For shorter trips TAP doesn't have as many amenities as other airlines, but on this trip the typical video screens with movies, music, etc. was available."
Cons: "In this particular flight there was a male airline attendant who was fabulous and who could speak many languages, including German. I noticed the other airline attendants seemed to be giving him a really hard time and weren't friendly at all. In fact, I rang a bell to ask for attendant help at one point and no one came to help. I was just a seat back from the area where the helpful airline attendant was available. I think that overall TAP flight staff could be a bit more open to being friendly. However, on the ground in Lisbon I've found the staff to be amazingly helpful."

She was amazing and I owe her so much for making my experience better. I also received a baby gift package that had a much needed pacifier clip! The flight was also the smoothest flight I've ever had across the Atlantic!"

Cons: "Baggage fees were unacceptable. All but one of my group of 12 had to pay and we were not told why. It was not clear that this should have been done via the website prior to the flight and why is it significantly cheaper online? Very disappointing."

Pros: "Getting through customs at Lisbon airport is a nightmare. It takes a full hour standing in line among a hoard of other arrivees before passports are checked."

Cons: "This airline company was looking like a scam. I was refused the flight. Then promised compensation, which was then refused again. Treated like kettle. Simply corrupt company."

Pros: "We were traveling with a 7 month old so boarding was made easy by the crew. Most of the crew were quite pleasant during the flight."
Cons: "The entertainment system hand piece failed so you were unable to select channels, turn the over head light off or ever call for assistance. We had to get another passenger to do that for us. Ultimately the light bulb had to be removed from the fixture. During the flight, we asked for more refreshments and were told we could only have water by a flight attendant. Upon arrival at our destination with a child in hand, our stroller was not unloaded at the gate so we had to carry our child and all that travels with him to the baggage area. For anyone travelling internationally, you will know this is generally quite a distant from the gate in major airports. The strollers and car seats arrived in baggage 30 minutes after the main luggage. When staff were approached they were short and appeared very disinterested in helping. TAP failed on this flight home."

Cons: "First flight was delayed by just a half an hour and we arrived in Portugal. We had a connecting flight to AMS with also TAP and had a two hour window to make the next flight with the same company (TAP). We were in line for passport and then security and talked to several TAP employees and they said we would be have time and wouldn't have a problem catching the second flight. Well, we got through the lines with 30 min before our next flight and they wouldn't let us on. Customer service and organization of the airline is really poor. The aircraft had minimal room and no entertainment. We got on our next flight five hours later and all they gave us was a $10 food voucher. So poorly managed."

Cons: "My TAP Portugal flight on June 13th from Boston to Lisbon and then to Madrid was cancelled after having the passengers deplane twice. I was sent to a hotel (due to mechanical problems on the pane). The hotel was 25 minutes away (this is driving at 4:30 in the morning). It took an hour to return to the airport 5 hours later (at 11 am.). My flights returning to Boston were delayed the first for an hour, the second for an hour and a half. TAP Portugal clearly has significant organizational issues to resolve. I will never fly TAP Portugal again, and I will suggest to all my family and friends to do the same. My flight was not cheap ( a fact that I willingly accepted) but to have such an awful experience is unacceptable."
