It's a great idea to book a hire car too. You can collect your vehicle at the brand's desk at any of the airports handling arrivals from Britain.
  • To get a cheap flight to Turkey, you can also look for those that make stopovers on the way. Many of these are operated by one or more airlines in combination. For instance, you can fly from London Luton Airport (LTN) to Sabiha Gokcen Airport on Wizz Air, changing to Pegasus Airlines at Tirana Rinas Airport (TIA).
  • Turkey has a number of main airports that receive flights from the UK. The new Istanbul International Airport (IST) serves as the hub for the European side of Turkey, while Ankara Esenboga Airport (ESB) is situated in the capital city and acts as the hub on the Asian side of the country. If you wanted to explore the south-west coast of Turkey, you could book a flight into Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) or Antalya Airport (AYT), which are located on the southern coastline.
  • If you are looking at flights to Turkey so you can visit some of sights on the south-west coast, you can book a flight to Bodrum Airport, giving you access to the Bodrum Peninsula on the Aegean Sea. Dalaman Airport (DLM) is an alternative entry point that is also in the south-west of the country.

  • It is possible to purchase Turkish currency when you land in Turkey, either by using your card at an ATM or using one of the foreign exchange counters at the larger airports where the rates are usually better than they are outside the country. Euros may be accepted in some of the larger centres and resorts, and some hotels will change currency without charging commission.
  • As a British passport holder, you will be required to get a visitor’s visa to enter Turkey. This should be done online before you fly, and it is advisable to print out a copy of your visa to present at the Turkish border which will mitigate any potential technical problems. Your passport will need to be valid for a minimum of 6 months from your entry into Turkey and in order to ensure there is space for stamps, it will need to have one blank page.

Cons: "Seats were torn and adjustments were malfunctional. No drinks were offered. Wifi did not work either."
Pros: "The crew was very helpful even though English is not their first language."
Cons: "Maybe the food expections."
Pros: "Very old plane, seats not updated and not working properly, food was served once on an 8 hour flight, there was turbulance for over 5 hours consistently, and the pilots did nothing to go around it. As a pilot, i can tell you this can be avoided. Some of the crew were not friendly. Old movie library."
Cons: "New and updated plane, especially business class, more trained crew, seats that work and function normally, better and more food, served a light breakfast on an 8 hr flight. Updated movie library."
Pros: "It was so smooth. Crew was so nice. Food was delicious. Airplane was so comfortable."
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "On time, hard working staff."
Cons: "The usual dislikes: economy seats, crying babies, body odor of other passengers."
Pros: "The plane was Old !! We, Stevo and me Julie were scared but glad the trip will be over. We did not know the rules that MK had as far as how much $ and golden jewlery one can have befor you had to report it. Thank God we did not have to give up anything."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "The counter could not find my reservation a d they said because i booked online i had to go to another counter and then back to check in. It was pretty stressful"
Pros: "On time, courteous, professional. The seats in economy were comfortable and there was good amount of leg space."
Cons: "Unlike all other places we boarded from, this location did not allow families with infants to board sooner."
Pros: "1. I had one empty seat next to me. 2. Australian Open (tennis) was live on my tv screen!"
Cons: "Although the crew was quite nice, one crew member was kind so-so."
Pros: "The Lounge at Istanbul airport is fantastic"
Cons: "Seating in Economy class is terrible. For tall persons like me it is a punshment to be squeazed in such a narrow space. Turkish airlines should add more space and comfort with their seating in Economy. Introduce a Premium Economy Class would solve that problem"

The flight was delayed for more than 5 hours. It was a headache trying to wait for the plane after it got delayed over 4 times.

I have to depend on wheelchair and that experience was bad. At Heathrow as well as Atlanta. They said we will have to wait till last passenger since there are twelve of you. If they knew why couldn’t they make proper arrangement? Even at the baggage counter we were dropped saying someone will come and couple of us waited almost half an hour again. Felt so sad and helpless.

They charged me 155 euros for nothing! Please contact them and get my money back!

Bag was missing when we landed at Cincinnati which caused lot of trouble.

Pros: "Comfortable seats"
Cons: "Inadequate frequency and quality of service by flight attendants, mediocre food, small portions at dinner service, poor responsiveness of seat controls, incredibly poor resolution and small sized video screen in business class. Nothing but candy and pretzels available for snacks between the long time between meal services. No separate jetway for first and business class passengers. Several hour delayed takeoff after boarding due to multiple maintenance issues and equipment failures."
Cons: "Lunch was adequate but evening meal was half a sandwich"
Pros: "Ran into some turbulence and the pilot did a great job calming down the passengers and explain the weather situation."
Cons: "food option were limited, only one meal choice left"
Pros: "It was a short trip of less than two hours. So, there was no entertainment, no charging stations for iPhones or iPads to watch personal electronic devices. All food including still water cost money. It’s advertised as this; the staff were very efficient and friendly."
Cons: "A small pack of pretzels and free cup of water would have been nice."
Pros: "Flight was on time, food was good, service was great Good entertainment"
Pros: "Flight was smooth"
Cons: "I upgraded to business class and the seat felt like a cage. The flight attendants were much more interested in talking to each other than helping a paying customer. Terrible customer service with bitchy attitudes from a bunch of men."

Delayed and ketone runway. Was told some nonsense about thunderstorms slowing down flights. Why not just come out and tell customers NATO and BRITISH FORCES were doing defence exercises and were in control of AIR SPACE.

Pros: "Nothing No leg room was charged 60 eu for bent 2 kg over on baggage. Was told then I’d have to pay another 60 eu for my under-seat bag even though I had no such issue on my flight to Barcelona The seats are miserably small and don’t even recline. Worst airline I have ever flown Staff was rude"
Cons: "Everything!"
Pros: "Budget airline comfort"
Cons: "They could have first called speedy boarding so I didn't appear like I was trying to jump the queue. Also ended up boarding along with everyone else as in a bus so didn't really get any advantage for paying for the perk"
Pros: "The crew was very friendly and helpful. For me, this makes all the difference in the world. I'll even overlook small problems if staff is pleasant."
Cons: "It was unclear that we had to check ourselves in ahead of time online. The check-in crew said there was absolutely nothing they could do for us and that we should have read the "terms and conditions". Luckily, we arrived at the airport extremely early, so I had time to check in on my phone."
Pros: "So not amazing, but good value - you get for what you pay-"
Pros: "Boarding was very fast compared to most other flights. Crew was friendly. Flight was smooth and on time."
Cons: "Honestly - a bunch of drunk Scandinavians all around me. Very noisy and smelling so much from the alcohol, I almost got sick. Luckily, a very short flight. The guy behind me was very rude to the crew. Crew member handled him well. Was worried about him throwing up on me. Rest of flight was good."
Pros: "We Arrived over two hours early waited in the line designated for 45 minutes then told to get in a different line which was slow. Then when we got to the sweet gal at the desk she told us that we couldn’t bring a personal item on in addition to our carry on luggage. We travel a lot and have never seen that. We had to pay $250 to check our roller bags so that we could bring a purse or book bag."
Cons: "We will seriously think of a different air line"
Pros: "The short flight?"
Cons: "Seriously now, the line, the attitude, the delays, the lack of information, is not "low cost". I fly some low cost companies but easyJet needs to improve. I was stranded once in London and the company never did a thing to help. Sadly, it's not worth it considering how one gets stranded with no real recourses. Try to get a refund from the company and you know what I'm talking about. Now Norwegian Express, that's another good story."
Pros: "Easy boarding and flight. The onboard meal deal tasted alright and wasn't as had value as I'd expected."
Cons: "Not the most comfortable seats but bearable for a few hours if you're not trying to sleep."
Pros: "The staff were friendly"
Cons: "The passengers were arse holes bit the crew dealt with it well"

The plane left Istanbul 1 hour late and the AC was not really working great it was so hot inside and no air. This was my worst flight in a long time since I had a flight with Ryanair.

I had 4 flights for less than a week and there were no delays and issues. Thanks to the crews and for perfectly organised service.

There is no usb for charging the phone you should provide the water

Pros: "The crews are friendly and smiling. Seat are comfortable"
Cons: "If they allow the family with young children to board first will be excellent"
Pros: "The price was good"
Cons: "A lot of confusion at the airport when we wanted to check our bags. I felt they could have directed traffic (the people trying to check in) better."
Pros: "Nothing really"
Cons: "The airline should at least provide a snack. It's 4 hrs of travel."
Pros: "One Crew member was very nice, the rest were not so friendly. But overall a smooth ride, and no problems."
Cons: "Check IN desk, unprofessional and rude employees. Felt discriminated. Never again will travel with this company."
Pros: "Really easy experience - friendly, organized, on time and a great price!"
Cons: "On my flight, passengers were rude to the extent that a fist fight broke out and cursing amongst everyone occurred."

The cabin crew on that flight were super fantastic and super helpful. They were so polite and considerate that i felt i travelled with a 5star airline.

Delayed delayed delayed - always with Wizzair. Staff were friendly and well mannered but clearly the company is unorganized and the aircrafts are outdated.

It's a budget airline. Great for short flight. Smooth landing.

4 hr delay and only told less than 2hrs before. Only given water and nuts on the flight as complimentary service. Left to wait in rain before boarding.

To be honest I did not like anything. Communication to why my flight was cancelled mid air 2 and half hours into my flight. Customer service desk were not helpful with providing information or a solution on what can be done.

I have been treated unacceptably by WizzAir aircraft crew in a previous flight, they threatened me and abused me, and I received an OFFICIAL written apology, but only two (2) months later. This flight had no such unacceptable behaviour, but it's not nice to be left waiting in the walkway (from gate to aircraft) for a long time, just so that the 'boarding' appears to be early, even if actual departure is not.

What I liked new airplane Sitting was extremely uncomfortable! Crew not smiley at all Always chewing gum

The flight was cancelled just 4 hours before the take off...

No food on board. Not comfortable. Had to move seats was delayed more than 3 hours.

Pros: "The food and beverage selection as always. The seat was quite pleasant as well."
Cons: "Crew forgot to serve me when doing meal service. I got up and food but found it interesting that 2 flight attendants walked right by me without saying anything. The flight was late departing and arriving."
