FAQs - booking Greenland flights

  • How do I get from Kangerlussuaq Airport to Nuuk?

The distance from Kangerlussuaq Airport to Nuuk is about 200 miles (320 km) and the only way to make the journey is by plane due to the lack of surface roads. • Which airport is best for flights from Scotland to Greenland?

Glasgow International Airport is often the best departure airport if you're flying from Scotland to Greenland. • How can I get from Ilulissat Airport to Ilulisat?

The shared town bus service is often the cheapest way to get into town. However, it doesn’t run regularly, so you may have to choose between waiting or taxing a taxi. • Can I get local currency at Greenland airports?

  • How can I get from Kulusk Airport into town?

Kulusk doesn't have any public transport available, but if you're staying at the Kulusk Hotel, they offer a complimentary shuttle from the airport. There also aren't usually taxis available unless you book them in advance. Consider booking a private transfer, especially if you're arriving in winter. Otherwise, you'll generally need to walk into town, which takes roughly 30 minutes.

Cons: "Communication about international COVID requirements before the day of departure."
Pros: "I liked the northern lights look after boarding upon introduction of the captain and crew members. Everyone was super personal and uninformed looked great. The best part was when they started boarding from the last row, which is the most logical and efficient way to do it"
Pros: "Got assisted to the plane by airport staff as I was in a wheelchair"
Cons: "Food on board was awful. Ordered hamburger but not availabe having already pre paid. Pizza was poor quality and had no taste. Range of food disappointing"
Cons: "It was too warm. The air above was not cool"
Cons: "Even the layover was good. Seeing the northern lights from.the plane was spectacular"
Pros: "Seats not that good need softer seates for long haul flights"
Cons: "Dissapointed that my flight info screen does not rotate and update the screenshots like they used"
Cons: "It wasn't at all clear that checked baggage was not included. This added a surprise extra hundreds of dollars to our trip. But the flight itself was fine, seats were too close when reclined, but everything was on time and efficient."
Cons: "Warm bus for the transfer from one plane to the next"
Cons: "The seats are too hard to sit in for more than an hour or two, and would sometimes not stay reclined. There were no free snacks or food, and it was a five hour flight."
