In the end the crew managed to rustle up something from the Crew meal and I was able to then have snippets of meal segments that suited my requirements. How could this be prevented in the future? Make available a vegetarian choice on all meal served flights. A Meat eater can eat vegetarian at a push but not the other way around. I know if might be too much to ask to make that a Vegan option as standard, because then every one can eat it, but just putting that out there."

Cons: "Not really related to the flight itself, but this was my first time flying British Airways, and they have a policy where you can't pick your seat until 24-hour in advance unless you pay an extra fee to choose early. I thought this was similar to Southwest's early bird check-in where no one really opts to pay for such a feature, but apparently with British Airways, everyone pays to pick a seat early. I checked in to my flight literally one minute after the site opened up and there were only middle seats left. So, if you've never flown BA before and you have a long flight, you might want to pay the extra fee to choose your seat early."

Cons: "Heavy fog on London pushed my Nice-Heathrow 2h from even taking off, so they knew and could plan on coordinating the delay. yet, they didn't even delay the Heathrow-Boston flight 5minutes (surprised it kept its spot in the supposed heavy fog for take off). One thing that made matters worse on each way was that Heathrow has a mandatory security check in the middle of a flight connection even if you don't go out of the airport and don't want to check England. This wastes a lot of time in transfers, prevents people from carrying liquids they might have acquired, and makes tired passengers wait in line for another 1h or more, and get themselves in those machines, which is very frowned upon to opt-out of. I like the food on BA in general - good quality meat without tendons or too much fat, and overall nicely cooked. However their strength is in Indian food, and they should limit English food to 1 token per tray (mince pie ok, but the bitter coleslaw was inedible and sometimes we just need direction as I am just realizing now what the cotted curd was for: the minced pie). Not a horrible experience, but with 5h20 arrival delay, you'd think they'd offer me more than $6 for lunch! Finally, I hated having to wait in a random place until 1h before my flight and then dropping everything I was doing to run to my gate last minute."

Cons: "Boarding process was essentially a stampede. all general boarding called at once Ridiculous number of levels of elite/first class/preferred/platinum/gold club members. You're going to run out of elements to name your BS elitist clubs after. There seems to be a trend where flight attendants physically lean in and force passenger seats upright prior to landing. I appreciate the frustration, but I don't like being caught in the crossfire when they lean over me to do it."

The touch screens on the back of the seats are annoying (especially on a 7-hour flight) to the passenger in front, as they can feel the constant tapping through the seat."

Further, we were then not allowed to disembark the aircraft until they were filled out despite being at the gate. Worst of all, nearly half the suitcases didn't make it to our destination. Half the passengers then had to fill out forms to make a claim. Even worse, this process alone took an unreasonably long amount of time. General logistical nightmare. Very poorly executed operation."

It was a full flight but I have lower back issue which got aggravated due to uncomfortable seat. I was sitting straight through out the flight. it would have been better if I was informed about it in advance. I was never even able to do web checking due to their system error neither at home nor was able to use self checking system at the airport and was informed by staff at airport it's recurring problem. It surprises me that it's not fixed causing passengers pain at the airport and flight."

Pros: "On time, comfortable, good leg room in economy class and decent service you can expect. This was a Dreamliner service from Dubai to Kochi. Can't comment about onboard service as I was comfortably sleeping during both trips and chose to skip it. On my previous trip from Kochi to Dubai last month, the flight reached Dubai 40 mins ahead of the schedule. I would highly recommend this service over Emirates flight to Kochi."

Finally they told me I had no option but to take the next flight at 500am. They put me up in a trashy transit hotel, made me wait outside in the heat for another half hour for the transport to the hotel. Will never fly Air India again if I can help it. Everywhere you see a lot of air India officials but only on in ten appears to know his job. Very unprofessional, incompetent, customer unfriendly. What a pathetic airline. Btw the frigid provided is a meager vegetarian buffet at a restaurant which is a few blocks away from the transit hotel."
Cons: "NEVER EVER CHOSE THIS AIRLINE. How such an airline is still the national carrier of India amuses me. My entertainment system was not working. There were no headphones and when asked they just kept ignoring me. The remote was broken in 2 pieces and when asked the attendant replied "Am i supposed to fix this?". I was forced to travel for 15 long hours from Chicago to New Delhi without any entertainment system. I barely saw any flight attendants in the economy class. Such airlines without any professionalism should be grounded ASAP. I would request Kayak also to remove Air India from their services or give a warning when any user opts for it. The Govt. of India should strip of the national carrier symbol of this huge debt ridden business. Its a shame that a route like US - India wherein the middle east airlines are reaping profits due to their brilliant services, the citizens of India have to look for other options rather than their own national carrier. SHAME ON YOU AIR INDIA."

We were told we can go to a hotel and wait for plane to be fixed by the next day or re-book. A majority of us wanted to get to NY that day so we wanted to re-book. When we get to the Air India desk there was one sweet old Indian lady working there, completely unaware of what is going on: that our flight got cancelled, that we sat in plane for three hours, that we wanted to re-book. It took hours and many arguments with various staff of Heathrow to get us re-booked to other flights. Our flight was scheduled at 12:30pm; I finally got re-booked at 5:00pm, and left Heathrow at 10pm! Longest day ever! I have flown across the world in less time than what it took me to fly from London to NY."

Pros: "The flight from India to London was already two hours late, but I was forewarned, so left me home in the south of England later, and got to Heathrow in time for the later take-off. Once on the plane, technical difficulties were found, which kept us on the ground or another three+ hours. Arriving in Newark at 8:30 p.m. instead of the 3 p.m. expected made it a very long, uncomfortable day. Again, not Air India's fault. Going to London from Newark on Air India five days earlier was one of the best flights I've had. The crew on both flights were great, and the food and drink were surprisingly good."

Took 6 hours to find out they had some sort of cart in the back that you could visit for drinks. No diet soda at all, and the soda I did get came in a dirty can. It looked like it was covered in dirt or clay, or something that resembled rust. Will not fly again unless absolutely necessary. The only positive aspect was the star alliance affiliation so I could get my miles to my account."
