Pros: Very intimate feel. Stepping off the streets is stepping into a calm and elegant world. Love the attached ba, Wheeltapper,r that has outdoor seating, which is covered and heated in the winter. I only saw it in the winter but it a great little spot. Central but hidden courtyard. I would definitely go back to this hotel.

Pros: The staff was very nice and most accomodating when I arrived and my room wasn't ready due to a late departing flight crew. They put me in another room that was larger than the one I had booked. The hotel was in a great location and convenient to many attractions. There is a great sandwich shop just around the corner as well. I will definitely stay with them again when I go back to NYC.

The employes and the management of this hotel decline any responsibility for the event. Such a thing had never happened to us and it was the most horrible experience we had ever experienced. Pros: The front desk staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Especially Tiffany and Katrina. They accommodated an early check in and and a late check out (we didn't want to leave!) The beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The room was spacious and the bathroom nicer than mine at home! Perfect mid-town location. But the friendly service is the main reason to stay and come back again and again!

The wardrobe space need to get bigger. It can hardly fit for one nevertheless two especially in winter.

Pros: Location was fantastic. Close to the action but extremely quiet once you get inside. The rooms were modern, clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: This hotel lacked a few of the services you typically expect, such as room service, on-site gym and laundry service (although dry cleaning service is available), but this is not a major problem and is justified by the lower room rates compared to the bigger hotels in this area.

Cons: I stayed in NYC before and after a trip to the Galapagos. On the way down I stayed at a Hilton and on th way back I spent a little extra to end the holiday on a high note and chose the Intercontinental. In Asia Intercon hotels are luxurious and wonderful. The Intercon Barclay was a big dissappointment. The smell in the lobby for all 3 days was sour and foul. It reminded me of a gym locker. I hated walking through the lobby and sometimes you could smell it on the stairs before you even entered the building. Considering I paid about 100 dollars more a night then the Hilton, which was only three streets away, the room was very small and cramped. The bathroom was also very small, dirty, and the grout in the tile had not been cleaned well

I also didn't care for the decor in the hallways or room I stayed in. It seemed very dated and in desperate need of some modern updating.
I also felt the complimentary toiletries were very disappointing and so was the $5.99 charge for printing tickets from a desk computer (labeled business center - very weak).
The housekeeping service was very, very noisy each morning and the rooms weren't cleaned up to normal hotel standards.

Cons: On one of the days we stayed, the entire hotel's air conditioning was out for almost 24 hours. It was humid and very hot outside and we were traveling with an infant so we decided to come back to the hotel only to find it even more hot and muggy inside. They kept telling us the problem was being fixed but it wasn't until early morning the next day that it started working again. They apologized and gave us a discount but it was a miserable night with the baby. We had to ask for extra towels 4 times one day until we finally got them. There were at least 3 large cockroaches that we had to kill in the room - I know it's New York, I used to live there, but it's still uncomfortable to find them in a hotel that's supposed to be clean.

Well stocked room, original artwork that gives it certain charm, and very-very quiet. 2nd Floor has a computer so guests can access the web. Cons: My only problem was the room size. It was a bit on the small side for 4 or 5 people at the price we paid. However, this is to be expected for New York. Especially somewhere so central. Its worth the extra money for the location, and the experience of being in central New York. All the pros outweigh this small con. You dont go to New York to stay in your hotel room!

Especially when I have to make multiple emails and telephone calls to get the $35 food and beverage credit I'm supposed to get when I pay the $25 daily destination fee. The head office at Marriott can't do anything. They tell me to call Westin GC directly. The email with the disputed folio lists a Westin contact email that no longer works. I got an email telling me that I should forward my complaints to Marriott, and not the Westin contact email in the folio. When I email Marriott, they tell me to contact the Westin directly.

Nice touch with the Ipad in the room, location was spot on and easily accessible to all the areas. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Royalton, but had gotten a good rate through booking.com. Paying standard rates I may have felt it was alot of money for what it was. Concierge Sasha was exceptionally helpful and was always willing to help.

We came back late that night and it was still 80 degrees (thermostat was set at 64). I called down, someone said they'd send someone up. About 30 minutes later, nothing. I called back and they said they were switching shifts and the manager was looking for another room for us-they'd call when it's ready. I stayed awake 45 minutes longer, and packed up most of our stuff, still nothing.
The next morning we went downstairs to try to get our a/c fixed and they sent the engineer up. We came back later that day...it was fixed.
It was pretty uncomfortable sleeping in 80 degree humid room. Disappointed that we didn't hear back that night to get it fixed.
After the first miserable night, it was fine.

Cons: My husband thought the whole hotel was too dark. Especially the lobby. I would agree to say that the lobby was very dark, but I didn't really mind it. It wasn't like we were going to be spending a lot of time in the lobby anyway.
And another thing; every day we left our "Do Not Disturb; sign on our door because when staying in hotels we worry about our things disappearing. But one of the days we came back and our room had been visited by housekeeping, so we quickly looked around to make sure all of our things were accounted for. And thankfully, everything was there. We were happy that the staff was respectful of our things, but we were confused by the fact that the sign was still on the door and they came in anyway.

Cons: Whilst I appreaciate the mood and ambience of the hotel it would be nice to have been able to get more natural light into the room, we faced the inner courtyard so this might have attributed. I found the cost of the room service pretty expensive but the food was good if small in portion. My main gripe was the internet in the room, for a pretty signigicant charge it would cut out regularly if two consoles or laptops were being used at the same time (I was there on business), suggestion for improvement would be maybe a more varied offering in the gym it was relatively limited on the machines.

Cons: As I arrived late I did not get the single room I reserved instead one of the bunk bed rooms. The room was a bit run down and the TV did not work. Also it was quite noisy and smelled of beer as other travellers were partying in their room. What I really did not like was that they checked me out before the check out time.I returned to the hotel before 12pm to check out and all my things were gone. The staff put my belongings in a plastic bag and stored it at the front desk.

I had forgotten my phone charge and the hotel staff was not helpful in providing a temporary replacement, perhaps from lost and found. Instead I was referred to an overpriced in-house gift shop trying to sell me a micro-usb cable for 15-20$.
Check-in is late at 4:00 pm.

The rooms feel tired and outdated, with weird old wall paper, leaky faucets, embarrassing old fiber-board armoires for closets and window trims which have rotted out.

Cons: It was a rather horrible experience. The room was small and dirty and nothing like what was advertised. The furniture was broken and it was facing a wall. The room next to mine had several people in it who were partying late into the night and even though I called the reception they refused to do anything about it. So there was shouting and music until after 2am. Probably one of the worst hotel i stayed at in a long time.

Cons: Bedbugs. They moved me to a much better room, but I was not confident that it was bedbug free.
There was no way to make tea or coffee in my room. A huge drawback as far as I am concerned.

Cons: Double room was smaller than anything they've seen before. It was only one tiny bed [I even called them explaining they are sister and brother] and I believe it was a twin or maximum a queen- my brother was taller than the size of the bed-unacceptable. My closet is bigger than that bathroom and the building is remodeling so it looked terrible and they so bugs on the shower-real gross.
I payed the price of a 4 star hotel in Times Square and they told me they've been in more comfy hostels in Europe.
Staff was not accommodating at all and since my family does not speak English very well they did not offer to change to a decent room (for the price I payed).
I feel so bad for them and I feel scammed by this.
Ridiculous.

Cons: Unbelievable lack of attention to detail. This hotel could be soooo much better if they simply cared about details. The gym has had 3 of the 4 cardio equipment broken for over 6 months! The hallway carpets are worn, the paint is scuffed, gym towels usually absent, gym t.v. broken... I would happily pay 10% more at this hotel for better TLC. Sadly, it seems they are content to compete on price alone, in spite of having a gem of a property. Poor management, in my opinion.

Cons: The bathroom was very small - It was not possible to sit on the toilet and close the door in room 803! also the bathroom floor was higher than the room, resulting in a cut foot on the first night

Cons: I didn't like that the staff puts men in rooms next to the women's bathrooms and showers. I also really didn't like that the women's shower room didn't lock properly, which left women vulnerable during their shower time. I checked out after one night because that made me very nervous. The cleaning staff was loud, the front desk staff didn't care about the lock on the shower room door, and only one elevator was working.

Cons: After staying there several times over the past four years for up to a week at a time, I may change my mind if the quality continues to decline. Each time I've been, the services have gotten worse. I'm not talking about the 25 year old TVs that are so big they are a predominate feature in the room nor am I talking about the creakiness of the bunk beds when you turn over at night, nor the carpet that hasn't been changed in over a decade. I can live with these for three to six nights (our typical stay). I'm talking about asking for an extra pillow each day for two days and never getting it. I could understand if it was overlooked once but when I didn't get it the first night, I asked again and still didn't get it. In addition, our room was not made up one day until almost 5:00. One day the top bunk was not made up but the sheets just laid on the bed in a bundle. Another night the top bunk sheet was made but the blanket was not put on it. So I will try them again but if the quality of service and attitude of the staff continue to degrade we will not be back.
