Pros: "The flight from Chicago to Tokyo was delayed, which made me worried that I would miss the connection to Taipei. I was very happy to discover that an airline staff person was waiting for me when I got off the plane, having already changed me to another Taipei flight. She explained things and guided me to the right place. She was able to walk amazingly fast for a woman wearing high heels!"

The one that was suppose to fly out at 12:50 on 1/6/18 delayed until 17:25 (with acceptable communication the first delay) but then later delayed till 00:10 after I’ve already arrived at the airport early for the 17:25 departure. The screens with arrivals and departures posted that Checkin was open but there was no JAL staff to answer questions. Then getting an update “maybe” the 00:10 flight is cancelled? What is maybe cancelled and JALs phone messege still said the flight would depart at 00:10. So I go back to JFK because after all “maybe” isnt a definitive and according to all the direct JAL sources the flight is suppose to depart, I get to JFK the second time only to be given a printout saying the flight is cancelled with no rebooking, and to call for assistance. The same number is been calling for hours trying to get answers. coukdnt reschedules because I’m calling outside of business hours! I spent $200 on cab rides going back and forth to JFK to go nowhere, get no apology, no new flight booking, and no reimbursement for transportation."

I was very impressed with this airline. The flight was comfortable the plane was clean and the attendants were very nice. The zipper on my suitcase broke after I checked it. The airline wrapped it in plastic wrap, so it wouldn’t continue to fall apart. Every item I had in the suitcase was there when I got to Los Angeles. That is above and beyond!
Well, I didn’t like much. The staff didn’t have any beverages except for coffee and water and they never came by. The food just sucked. There was no entertainment at all.

The crew were fine. I didn’t enjoy the food at all. I found it unappetising and really had trouble eating it. The comfort level was fine and our return flight is with Cathay Pacific but honestly I probably wouldn’t fly Cathay Pacific again.
Halal food options could have been better the first meal portion sizes were very small the second breakfast meal the fish and couscous was very dry and disappointing I enjoyed the Hong Kong t lot I enjoyed the midnight stuck a lot the Hong Kong tea we had for breakfast was very good

The staff seemed a bit disinterested and some requests didn’t get answered. I finally got up and brought water for a passenger who had asked nicely 3 times for water. My headphones didn’t work and it took multiple requests to get them replaced.
This flight was delayed by 12 hours. This meant that instead of leaving at night, having a nice dinner, then sleeping and arriving in Singapore rested, we left in the morning, were offered breakfast even though we had all had breakfast, and then no-one could sleep (day flight) but instead snacked to Singapore. Qantas ran out of quiet snacks and everyone in Business that was awake was eating pretzels in NOISY packets. I was trying to sleep. When we arrived in Singapore of courser the Qantas First Lounge was closed, great management thanks..

Cons: "I was stopped at gate check in and taken to one side as the passport control had reported me for being intoxicated. I was injured in the armed forces and have a bit of a balance problem as lost most my hearing. I think drink alcohol any more. I asked for an aisle seat as I'm a big guy but was put on seat E next to a huge fat guy so was unable to sit properly. I couldn't get out of the seat once as he just slept and must of drempt as kept jumping and banging me. I had 1 meal on the over 13hr flight, which I couldn't eat properly as was unable to use the knife & fork due to the huge obese guy next to me. I asked the stewardess to wake me at all meal times. Which she didn't. So missed all the meals and tea/coffee. I was looking forward to the put a too. The London to Singapore flight was a total let down and I expected so much more from Quantus as they have always been top standard before. Overall disgusted in the service."

Pros: "The seats are comfortable and the service is first rate. Best airline out of Virgin Australia, Air New Zealand, and Qantas based on my 3 trips to New Zealand. It helped that we were on an A380 and because of the lack of the plane being filled both my travel companion and I had 3 seats to ourselves to stretch out. In economy, without that, nothing would have made the trip bearable. That said, the food was good, the entertainment options good, and the after hours water/liquid/snack options were quite good."
