I am six feet tall, and was very uncomfortable all during the flight. I could not sit with my knees together. I had to spread my knees to sit comfortably. Holding that position for eleven hours was very uncomfortable. Anyone taller than me would have even more trouble. Also, every seat has a very large box underneath, I presume for the audio/video system. This is a terrible location. There is very little room to stow anything. But much worse, I couldn't straighten my right leg. All-in-all, I found the seat situation totally unacceptable. I will likely never fly Virgin Atlantic again because of this."

The entertainment was good with a wide selection of movies and TV shows. The crew was incredibly nice and helpful and I had a really pleasant time talking with them. On the airport team side I can also say they were extremely helpful as I missed my flight and they promptly rebooked me on the next one 3h later, free of charge. I think the stress of missing a flight was completely deflected by the help of the Virgin Atlantic crew at the desk so thank you for that!"

During the flight I was told there was no such request in their records and therefore I had to stay hungry for the entire duration of the flight. During my return flight from LHR to LAX the in flight entertainment system for my seat was not functional. I requested it to be reset several times and in spite of the hostess resetting it several times, it did not function. I had to stay without an entertainment system during the entire flight. This was my first time travel with Virgin Atlantic. I may never fly Virgin Atlantic again."

I really disliked not being able to check in online 24 hours before on either Lufthansa's site or Air Canada. That is ridiculous in this day and age - surely the two airlines can coordinate something were the traveller can check in online on one of the sites. Also, as a vegetarian, I wasn't able to select my meal - I had to hope that they had enough vegetarian meals to give me one. This is another problem thanks to the code share. If this is what code sharing is like, I won't be doing it again. No thanks. I'll book directly."

Cons: "(1) The captain collected headsets 30 minutes before landing, causing us to miss the last 15 minutes of a movie. Why? (2) Very long cues for toilet use. (3) The baggage took more than half hour to arrive. (4) The chair in front of me reclined very far (more than those on its sides), making it very hard to eat, get up, or read. Need better maintenance."

Pros: "The people who work for Lufthansa are the nicest i’ve met, on par with Turkish airlines. The times for boarding and departure were respected, the flight crew was extra nice, even accommodating requests that gave them extra-work. Economy passengers were treated like first class in terms of service and solicitude of the crew. Headphones, blankets, pillows were offered free of charge, so we’re the food and drinks, and there was a good selection of movies and music. On a 770$ ticket, mind you! The crew will come by repeatedly to check if passengers desired some more wine or coffee, offered water and juices on a tray several times outside the regular service times, and cared for the families with children. Thumbs up!"
Cons: "The warm food was a bit unappetizing, the potatoes for instance were black, but there is nothing that the crew could do better than offer to replace it. Such graceful approach to a little inconvenience!"

Pros: "My previous flights with Lufthansa have been in business class, which is fabulous. However, on this occasion flew economy because I got an exceptionally cheap ticket. I was pleasantly surprised. Obviously the seat was narrower, but had plenty of legroom. The food in economy in Lufthansa is better than most airlines’ business class meals. The crew is very courteous and professional. You really can’t go wrong with this airline."

Cons: "Their computer terminals were down on the boarding area. Actually about 5 Boarding areas were down no one was available to give direction or answer questions until you got To the front of the line and many had to be sent then to a different line. Bad enough the terminals were down but not even close to German efficiency in handling the problem. Also several of the stewards were rather surly and short"

Pros: "Smooth flight. Pilots at Lufthansa are the best regarding landing and taking off. I like also a lot that lufthansa flies mostly with Boeing airplanes."

Pros: "It is so nice to flight on board a plane were the staff knows what to do."

Pros: "I managed to get a seat in economy class upstairs on the Airbus A380-800, next to the window. Each window seat has a locker to stow all your in-flight stuff in and there is lots of legroom. I was impressed - that's saying a lot for a Boeing-lover. Crew was very attentive and always available."

Cons: "First, Lufthansa lost our baggage from Hamburg to Los Angeles. Then, the delivery company (Direct Courier Services) Lufthansa uses was completely inept and unprofessional - every single one of their employees is a complete moron. We didn't end up getting our baggage for two and half days so we were wearing the same clothes that we left Germany with. Then, after being told by Lufthansa customer service to submit receipts for clothes we had to buy, never got reimbursed or even the courtesy of a reply. After flying Lufthansa for over a decade, will never use this airline again. Epic fail."

Cons: "The flight attendant did not bring the wheel chair and take me to the bus where I waited too long and when I arrived to customs no wheel chair was there and I asked every officer there how to get the wheel chair no one helped after long time one officer called and the chair arrived and he transferred me to a cart the driver was very bad he did not help in seating me and I sit on the back with my carry on when he drives like crazy I fell on the floor screeming he stopped and place me in the front and he asked if I need a doctor I told him no I just need to catch my flight although I was hurt badly with a very big bruise and when I reach the gate the plane was gone and I have to wait for another flight to take me to San Francisco and from there to Los Angeles and I singed a paper that I don't want a doctor"

Cons: "In flight when people were sleeping the crew were loud and interrupted causing you to wake up every time there was a food service or rubbish pick up. On an 11 hour flight this became very annoying when you were trying to get a good amount of sleep. The LCD screens on the back of the seats were the worst interaction I've ever witnessed on an airplane. The touch sensitivity was like something from the 1980s and made it very frustrating to select and navigate. On top of that the screens would spontaneously restart - my boyfriend and I witnessed the same interaction so it wasn't just one seat. Boarding at the terminal was not done efficiently in Dublin. The check in process with the kiosks was set up confusing and the crew helping did not help when clearly we needed it. There were no clear signs designating check in from baggage check. Baggage check that was self check out was not clear. When we received our boarding pass it stated that the doors would close at 1:30 for a 3pm flight - we got to the airport on time and were frantically trying to make it to our gate. After confusing baggage drop off we then had 2 rounds of security that was less than pleasant and we were ushered to a ground level terminal, or what was suppose to be a terminal. There was one food outlet that was understaffed with a huge line - we realized that our flight wasn't actually going to start boarding until 2pm so we could have taken our time. When boarding began they stated we were in final boarding and to not worry it was to stress out the people who hadn't been through security yet. There was no section boarding, it was just a free for all in which everyone waiting in yet another line. Very disorganized and inefficient. I would choose another airline for my next trip to Ireland."

Only those offered by the airline and the sky da was awful!! The seats were small and not comfortable! The tv screen wasn't responding to the fingers, had to use the remote!! Everything was not nice at all. The stewardess and steward were not pleasant, it looked like they didn't want to be there or they were bother!! I will never fly again either British or Aer Lingos."

Cons: "At Frankfurt Main airport the check in counter had initially only one person and the lines were very long. After about 30 minutes they opened 2 more counters. We were waiting at the gate for the bus and the flight time had passed , but no announcement that the flight is delayed. finally we get on the plane and then we get an announcement that we the plane does not have clearance for another hour and half. The entertainment on board is very very old stuff, and shockingly the food is also bad and no vegetarian food."

Cons: "I had a window seat and felt very crammed. Also, we had to wait close to an hour for our luggage to come through. That was most annoying."

Cons: "The airplane is an older model airplane. Everything rattled during even minor turbulences. The seats just weren't comfortable enough for a transatlantic flight. There was no leg room to be somewhat comfortable. Due to the age of the airplane, there also weren't any USB charging outlets for cell phones or tablets."

Cons: "The plane was dirty and old, the food horrible, cramped seats, dirty and non functioning bathrooms, stressed out and inattentive staff, poor coordination of seating families together (I was told my seat was given to a woman so she could sit with her adult daughter...I wasn't asked, just told), the flight was 1.5 hour delayed, my bag was lost because the incompetent staff member in Italy didn't give me a bording pass for the Dublin to LA flight (I'm still waiting over 24 hours later to find out what's happened to my luggage). Overall, this flight was a nightmare and a huge let down after flying to Rome on British Airways. I can't say enough about how wonderful that flight was..Aer Lingus was a big disappointment and a poor substitute for BA. Very unsatisfied customer!"

Pros: "The cabin was quite comfortable and we had all we needed from the get go, ear plug, TV, blanket, and pillow. We had good seating as there were only 2 seats on each wing. Even tough we couldn't reserve our seats, these were good."
Cons: "Why do those long distance air hostesses treat us as if we were a nuisance? Not a smile, rude; they had decided that those going to the US had to be bad people. Are they that political or just bad mannered????"

Poor connecting facilities and having to repeat security screening before connecting to the second leg of trip."
