Staff were very helpful. Nice clean looking lobby. Good fire escape facilities. At check-in were trying to charge us for an extra baby cod (child < 2yrs) while in the initial advertisement baby cods were free of charge. After a short but crisp discussion showing them booking info on paper printed from the site, staff finally admitted the cod was indeed free of charge. Phone charges for local calls are ridiculously expensive, real robbery. Looking at the quality of the rooms, the general service facilities and costs, and comparing with other hotels, a 4-star classification is overrated.
The friendliness of the staff, nothing was too much trouble for them and they were always smiling and extremely helpful.
Handy for the Albert Hall and Kensington shopping
This hotel is the quietest in london
What I liked about this hotel was the close vicinity to Kensington gardens and the underground station we stayed at this hotel two times this trip, The first saty we checked in early, the only room available was at the mezzanine. though it was a non smoke room, the room smelled badly and the outlets for the laptop were hidden behind the refrigerator. The second time we upgraded to a better more expensive room , which was nicer but also showed some bad points, the exterior windows seals were partly gone, and the airconditioning which looked ancient was noisy. Overall my impression was that this was once a great hotel for its day but today is in dire need of maintenance and repairs. Also the exterior looks very dirty. The prices are very high compared to the room you get. Overall I don't think I would make use of this hotel again.
It was good returning to a hotel we knew where the staff are very friendly and helpful.
parking room cleanliness
Excellent location Comfortable Good breakfast Doormen need to greet people
The location was terrific, service was good, hotel clean, room (including air conditioning) was very comfortable, and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. There was easy access to buses and the underground. No
public areas look really well, staff very good and very convenient location I perbooked internet access but it did not work satisfactorily. When I reported it a new connection was brought up fairly quickly but I had been very inconvenienced overnight and in checking in online in time and on checkout the front desk staff did not appear able to handle a request that some deduction to the 24 hour rate be made.
Dinner was excellent
the Tenth floor bar/restaurant is superb and has fantastic views throughout the day. the staff were fabulous the room was a bit dated and worn but still very nice.
Excellent staff and good room for London
Friendly and helpful staff, good rooms and service level. Noisy street - room facing the road, not flexible check in/out hours despite that I informed the reception about early arrival and departure in advance.
The location was excellent and the staff were great ambassadors for the hotel from reception through to housekeeping
Location was perfect. The hotel staff recommended some excellent restaurants and were extremely helpful.
Location And the room Gym can be better.
Great location on Kensington High Street. Pleasant view from room. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
I liked the fact that it is located beside the Hyde Park which gives a nice view from your room and makes it easy to take a walk there and enjoy the fresh air. Didnt like the GYM.
The room was comfortable and spacious, whilst the staff were vwery attentive.
Great Location and great views of Kensington Palace, staff that spoke english were good. Room was small, price was high for room and some staff very poor.
The location to the Albert Hall. We were not pre-warned that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment and therefore noise levels were very high.
The room was clean and not too small. Courteous staff even during a rush at check-in time. Location is good as it is close to a couple Underground lines and a 15 minute walk to Padington Station (where the Heathrow Express train ends). No Air Conditioning. Room was on the 3rd floor and the heat was almost stifling. Surprising given outside the temps were only in the mid 70's (F). They provided a fan, which made it bearable. They also limited the amount the window opened, making it very hard to get in fresh air. I would stay there again, but only when it is very cool out.
Easily accessible from London Heathrow to Paddington (10 minute walk) and very good location for tubes into city centre or access to Kensington and Hyde parks. This is the third time I have stayed at this hotel. Bathroom slightly on the small side, and shower curtain leaked, but on the scale of things nothing major.
The location of the hotel The staff were extremely unhelpful and unprofessional. I was very disappointed. We also had no hot water so could not have a shower which was absolutely horrible and for this there was no apology when I mentioned it. Our luggage was not held at the hotel, meaning we had to make a very long and tiring journey on the tube from Oxford Circus and back to place our luggage at St Pancras which cost us more money and wasted hours of the few hours that we had. We booked a room with a double bed and it was two single beds pushed together which was uncomfortable! I am 20 years of age and have stayed in many hotels around the world and CP was the worst experience.
The non smoking restriction
The location of the Hotel No Clear Policy for the extension of the stay for few hours ( 1 or 2 hours ) , the evening shift told me yes its possible they might charge 20 pounds , but the morning shift refused and ask for one day full payment :( and one more thing i didnt like in the hotel , they refuse to store the luggage for 2 hours :(
very good staff and location handy double room supplied to small and no storage no climate contol as in cool air if required
Looks nice, very good value for money, staff is very friendly Rooms should be refurbished, double bed shouldn't be made from two single beds
breakfast was not so good
during our stay, we could actually hear the hotel guest in the next room snoring in the night as the walls are too thin. it was also quite noisy at night as our rooms were facing the street
Nice tub, and was very accessible to the tube, nice bed and very comfortable stay. Some of the wires behind the bed were still jutting out and should have been covered. The bathtub needed some repair work.
City centre, close to London's main attractions. Nothing ... except the "key" always failed! Not a big problem though.
noisey cleaning staff at very early hours in the morning the hotel in genral was very noisey and run down our room was like a 2nd class holiday holiday park accomodation out of date tired and grubbie, will not stay again
Location was excellent simply outside Bayswater Tube Station..... The fact that we were placed in the basement of the hotel, very claustrophobic , bars on the window made you feel slightly imprisoned, the hallways were too small for two people to pass at the same time.
Location Size of the room there is no place even to put your suitcase
Great location; close to the tube, convenience stores, restaurants. Hotel was dirty, the bathroom was so small you couldn't even close the door and the staff was rude.
great location friendly staff room is too small lift is too small used my credit card twice
The room was a bit small. Also, I much prefer the type of shower that can be detached for allover body spraying rather than fixed to the wall inflexibly.
Perfect location. Very small rooms thin walls
Vicino ai negozi The staff were difficult. I paid by credit card. They wanted my husband's signature. Meanwhile, while awaiting the faxed signuture, I paid by cash for the first night. But my phone was cut off nevertheless. On checking out, I asked them to call a taxi but got another car service which cost double. I would not return.
clean / nice staff more choice for breakfast for buffet
Location This hotel the rooms are far too small.
Very clean rooms. Close to Hyde park. Rooms were small, placed a little below the ground.
we arrived at the hotel to find the boiler had broken and as such, would have to move hotel. To the hotels credit, they moved us to another 4 star hotel in a better location, the marlebone hotel just off bond street. So all was well after a shaky start. The grand royal did look a lovely hotel from the lobby, just a pity we didn't get to see the room.
The hotel has a comfy atmosphere. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent since it was close to Bayswater station (5 min walk) and Queensaway street with many international restaurants and convenience stores. The room and bathroom were extremely small. Barely enough room for one person to walk around. The corridors were narrow and claustrophobic, and the elevator was as small as a phone booth!
Great location, quiet room, staff friendly, historic building Horribly, almost comically small room; breakfast overpriced; almost no water pressure in shower
Staff Very small room, not suitable as double. Gave up on breakfast, no glasses for fruit juice, no plates, and not much food left. We were not the only dissatisfied guests.
the building is very impressive. Breakfast and reception staff very amiable and attentive. Room was quiet. nothing springs to mind
Very nice and clean, fast check-in and out and very friendly staff Rooms are a bit small, but beautiful
the room was great although very small there was no hot water at the hotel... in winter.... and I was only informed when I got there to check in.
Good rate, good standard, nice hotel Rooms far too small, shower did not work, no pressure.
Inexpensive, good location, modern fittings, quite stylish (until you looked closely), wonderful lobby, clean Plumbing was appalling - very poor hot water pressure, window wouldn't open and radiator was too powerful for size of room, v small room
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were nice and the location is perfect for those who want to see all of London. The room we were in was tiny. There was barely enough space for the bed, let alone for two big bags. The water pressure in the shower is very poor and during the last two days of our stay, there was no warm water in the hotel. The boiler was defect and couldn't be fixed in time. The hotel taxi charged more then the pre-agreed price, eventhough we repeated the address twice.
You should inform porchester pool and health center is lncluded in prices
Lots of building work on the outside but didn't affect our stay.
The staff were warm and friendly, breakfast was good. The English-style rooms were clean and decent. Its a bit far from the Metro station but not a problem and indeed a pleasant stroll to the nearesr metro station during summertime.
Reception was immaculate and well designed, bookin friendly and painless.Room very clean and had everything we needed.Excellent value for ourselves and our small companion dog.Unfortunately could not sample breakfast due to visiting relative in hospital.Express book out facility useful. Room a little too hot but window does open a limited amount. We are used to a much larger bed but certainly would not grumble for the price especially in this area of London.
staff was pleasant and breakfast was nice. room was a decent size and bathroom was decently sized. location was great for us. room smelled like smoke. don't know if it was but we didn't say anything like we probably should have, but we didn't spend a lot of time there.
The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Dealing promptly and efficiently with any query and difficulty I had. I had booked a double room and the bed was a little too small. I don't know if they have king-size beds in any of the other rooms... it didn't occur to me to ask.
The hotel was ideal for my weekend stay in London No problems
Breakfast was nicely done; staff responsive; room a bit small but typical of this age hotel in London and in the price range Not easy to work in room with computer
Room was warm and clean Decor bit tired, alarm call received though not requested, housekeeping knocking before 9.00am to find out when I was leaving. Charged £1 to store bag after checking out.
amazing location. Restaurant provided lovely home cooked foood at a remarkably good price bathroom was not as clean as could have been
Location, comfortable beds, value for money @ £92 for twin room. Small rooms and renovations going on with no notice of it.
The locationm was excellent and the staff were outstanding in their knowledge of the London buses that would facilitate our return to Liverpool St Station during last monday's tube strike. Also very helpful in directions to the Westfield Shopping Centre. Applause all round! I could not find any yoghurt in the vicinity of the continental breakfast buffet bar and there was no staff member that I could ask for this item. It was advertised on the menu at teh entrance to the restaurant. The fire alarm went aff at approx midnight on Sunday night, but there was no announcement that we had to evacuate the building and plenty of us thought that the alarm was going off in another room rather that for the hotel in general. This misunderstanding could have proven lethal, thankfully, it didn't
Staff pleasant and helpful. Efficient receptionists. Room clean. Facilities ok Waitresses at the breakfast room were pushy and unpleasant. (Food was good.)
Position of hotel is excellent for getting around London. Cooked breakfast was very good. Room was clean. Leisure centre good. You can pay a day rate for the car park but if you take your car out within that time you have to pay again. Standard double rooms are very small and in need of refurb. Reception Manager very unhelpful, lacks people skills.
Blue Smoke restaurant and Lions Bar. Food was great. Building upgrade noises.
Staff very friendly and helpful Room scruffy and worn, previous visitors hair in the bathroom. Hotel could do with a re-vamp.
Evening meal not up to standard
Close to Imperial College where my son studies Constant smell of sewage, mildew and damp. Pompous, arrogant, unhelpful staff in the main. I had one small bar of soap that ended in a sliver but was not replaced - same with the Toilet roll that was not changed till the day before departure, and I stayed six nights. I have worked in been the Financial Controller in Five Star Hotels in both Knightsbridge and Dubai, and did not realise how tacky this Hotel was; they refused to give me a refund, so I had all my meals, and spent all my time at the Copthorne Tara Hotel next door, where the staff were great, as was the food, the ambience, and the smell.
Parking was easy. Carpet and decor a bit shabby in the communal areas.
Great location, good public spaces, friendly and professioanl staff Room was microscopic. Described as a "standard' but should be listed as a micro. For £100/night, even in London it's a joke.
The staff were friendly and the beds were comfortable. The food was good and it is close to rhe RAH The staff need a bit more help with their fire drill. The alarm went off at least three times around Midnight and we saw only about 2 staff and we only found out what to do by ringing the concierge.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Wonderful views over Kensington Palace Gardens from rooms at front of hotel. Well placed for West End Shops and theatres. Taxi rank right outside door. Bathrooms are very small and tired - sink cracked in our room however the hotel is undergoing renovation.
Functional. With excellent choices for breakfast. No dislikes.
The politness of the staff, the room, it's cleanliness, the wonderful firm matress ( especially important for people with back-problems!) the view, everything. Elevators a little bit slow, especailly in the morning when every body is in a hurry to go sightseeing.
Great view over Hyde Park, good berakfast, very friendly and helful staff not all facilities described on website were in the room
convenient choice of food. There was nothing for children
I found the staff very fiendly and helpful and the location good The bed was not very firm which was dissappointing as this is the most important factor to me apart from location
very good it was under renovation so there was delay in services, and the minibar was empty
The room was a little small but to a very good standard Nothing
Great location, very nice and helpful reception staff Breakfast was bland, not much choice and very expensive
Lovely views over Hyde Park and London. A bed in the family room for child not a sofa bed. Nice quiet hotel but close to tube and bus stops. Hyde Park just across the road. The water was off for a time because of building works, but bottle water was supplied for washing hands etc. Nothing else springs to mind.
Very comfy beds, clean room and reception very accomodating my request for a park view The showers are very bad, really low pressure
Very close to Queensway. Shower was like dried up waterfall.
Basic services worked and stay was without any hitches Overall atmosphere, which lacked warmth both in terms of interiors n attention.
Friendly Staff, very nice ambience Room decor looked tired.
Too small bathroom
Please write at least 15 words
Hotel area, availability of the staff generally, however the restaurant service was not very good. The face that they offered us a room with baathroom handicap facilities in the first place, which we did not refuse (the room was nice, except the bathroom) as we understood the hotel was busy.
Location, facilities incl. internet, all-round very good. None.
I really liked the location and the amenities. The Underground was close, along with a nice selection of restaurants and Hyde Park. It was very well decorated and attractive. Some of the wait staff and the housekeeping could have been more consistent in their service. The housekeeper may or may not get to some of the details of our room each day. The restaurant waitstaff had new people each day, so there was some confusion in the dining room. Overall though, the leadership was excellent and professional.
Just round the corner from Queensway tube station. Fire alarm at 8am on a Sunday morning but this couldn't be helped!
Dirty hotel. No air conditionned in our room. Only a little broken window. Our bedroom were in the basement, not very confortable.
The price and location were the best part of the 3 night experience. The inclusive buffet breakfast had all the bases covered. The room was overall well kept by the housekeeping staff. The room was tiny, and the window opened to the view of bricks and concrete. I didn't mind as I wasn't expecting anything else for the price. However, I did feel a lack of breathable air at night due to the room size. I'm average build and found it too small. Also, the walls need a lick of paint...
Close to underground stations, restaurants and shops. Room was in basement, very stuffy. Airconditioning was one speed, either your'e too cold or too hot. No instructions for lockable safe for valubles. There wasn't a phone directory next to the phone so you didn't know what number to call for anything. Noisy people in other rooms. Housekeeping forgot to provide clean towels one day after taking the dirty ones. Room key had to be reactivated everyday in order for it to work.
I liked the fact breakfast was included. Please change breakfast items, same thing daily. Ugh. No air conditioning in our room. Paid for wifi and had to use it in the lobby. Would not go back! Outdated, things falling apart.
Fantastic value for money, room was decent, fantastic location, would definitely recommend to anyone on a budget.
It was close to Paddington and economical Beds not comfortable, rooms to hot and a bit run down, service a bit distant.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night but for £1 we could leave our bag so we could shop the next day. They were very happy for us to sit in reception until it was time to get our train home as well.
The value for money and helpfulness of the staff along with the very convenient location for the Royal Albert Hall. Nothing
position bed and breakfast
Staffs are very friendly, reasonable price, very close to tube, breakfast is good. Lifts are quite old and small.
Location near the park Breakfast self service area was not clean, public areas worn and tired. Rooms very small. bathroom not big enough to get chnaged in
The location was OK, and that is the only good thing about this hotel. Queens Park Hotel is simply the worst Hotel that I have been to. When I checked in, they assigned me a room between 2 floors, where I could barely fit my carry on bag and a large bag. After a complaint, they gave me a somewhat larger room. However, everything in the room was old, it was stinky, and uncomfortable. Furthermore, it did not have A/C, which was needed. When I wanted to purchase the wifi service, they told me that it was not working. I would never recommend Queens Park Hotel to anybody.
Location was good, very close to Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens and Notting Hill. A tiny TV, was not installeted when I arrived. After installation I had only 5 channels. Breakfast was not what I expected.
Central location close to many museums, shopping etc. and close to direct bus services. Pleasant area of London. Lacks even small restaurant or sandwich bar for tired travellers and shoppers. Airco shut off in fall/ winter meaning over-hot rooms cannot be cooled down.
Very close to Hyde Park with 2 Underground Stations within 2 blocks- Euston station about a 10-15 minutes easy walk. Many restaurants within 2 blocks.Small room, but normal for Europe. Street was quiet and so was the hotel. For the most part, the room was clean though it looked like carpet didn't get vaccumed very well, bed was comfortable. provded a map of London which was very helpful. In room safe, TV, closet, desk and hair dryer. Staff was definately not rude, but not overly friendly. Did not like the fact that we had to leave our room key at the front desk each time we left.
Location Noisy street, probably because of some youth hostels around
Efficient staff, location of the hotel
the room is very clean i really like it.. but the aircondition system is very old and noisy..
It is a clean and pleasent hotel otherwise with an excellent location and neighbourhood It is a nice hotel, but would not stay there again. for the price the room was way too small, breakfast is not included and they even charge for WiFi which is mean spiritted. If it was not overpriced, I would not complain about any of these.
The hotel was a small and cosy place to stay close to the tube. Breakfast was generally good and the staff was kind, but they could do better if they were better trained.
The Location was good, the room was okay It did smell a bit but it was clean enough. We had tea making facilities but the uht milk went sour. There was no mini fridge to keep anything cold which was disappointing considering the cost of the room was almost £90.
wash basin cracked and no plug for basin
Great location, very helpful staff and superb service Help from teh staff was excellent
Service and standard/condition of room . Service on arrival was less than disappointing. Room not ready ( arrived post 3.00pm) room very tired - bulbs out headboard stained general housekeeping unsatisfactory, reception staff not 5start trained.
Very good service, very intent concierges and porters. I didn't like your breakfast serviece. Early moning when I lived your hotel, there was not cold water in the tap, which is unacceptably for five-star hotel.
The decoration is great and the personel very pleasant and helpfull. We had the luck to be upgraded in a junior suite and had the surprise of a very nice cake for my husband's birthday. Location on the park and near to the best areas.
personalized service. Very friendly and courteous staff. The rooms are very dark due to colors, design and lighting. Bathrooms are very poor in safety. The barthtub is very slippery when taking a shower and the shower heads are very have very low perssure and flow. Bathroom tiles color, black, is not the best choice and makes the look of bathrooms very depressing.
Stuff cooperation Food
Location of the hotel, unobtrusive room service Couldn't find a shoe-shine set, failed to take cold shower.
Iwas un happy all the stay my room was very bad Very old very expensive
everyhing outstanding... I strongly suggest this hotel
Stylish decor. Excellent food; attentive service Service ar beakfast was charming but amateurish
staff attentive and polite nothing
Staff was very pleasant, courteous, and provided excellent service. Check in/out was quick and easy.
The staff were helpful and accommodating and the location was excellent. Just a few blocks from the High Street Kensington tube station and Hyde Park across the street. The breakfast was simple but ample and the staff made you coffee or tea when you sat down. I arrived really early my first day and my room wasn't ready yet. I guess the manager read the look on my face as desperate; he gave me the brand new double room (at no extra cost) up on the top floor for the night. I highly recommend that couples request this room, it was really well situated. They transferred my bags the next day while I was out and about. The rooms were clean and fresh; the sink in the single was airplane size but the shower was spacious. I stayed in a single for two nights and it was tiny. Do not bring a suit case any larger than a carry-on roller bag otherwise you will be sleeping on your luggage. I would also recommend asking for a room off of street-side if you're on the second or third floor.
Staff were extremely helpful, obliging and courteous, couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. I did request a quiet room, so understanderable we were designated a back room as opposed to one at the front by the road, which was fine except the air conditioning units of neighbouring buildings were quite noisy.
Easy check in, no fuss or hassle Only one point not good in that tv in room the picture "pixelated" on some channels - hardly something though to downrate the hotel on
Excellent central location; very friendly and helpful staff. Room a little on the small side, but definitely acceptable for a short break stay
Clean. Did not get what I booked room wise.
The staff were all very helpful, attentive and willing to help. Good location. The size of our room was not up to our expectations.
Good facilities and friendly staff. Room was clean with small shower room but very well maintained. TV remote temperamental.
Excellent staff Very clean Room smelled slightly of cigarette smoke
Small room, but clean and well laid out for the size of it. If you can't carry your luggage up a couple of flights of stairs, this is not the hotel for you. The included breakfast is not good, I decided to eat elsewhere. Really nice location right outside of Hyde Park and close to the High Street Kensington Station. Would stay again.
