Take all your battery powered personal care tools like razors. Otherwise they may be taken from checked luggage.
Verified travelerFlew with British Airways-Aug 2026
Take the courtesy check bag tag off your luggage unless you want your bag taken from you
JeffreyFlew with British Airways-Aug 2026
Bring your own food / purchase at Heathrow. Download movies or bring a good book.
Verified travelerFlew with British Airways-Apr 2026
British Airways has a convenient LHR-GLA flight, but lots of walking to connect from SFO-LHR flight.
Dee-annFlew with Ryanair-Dec 2025
I find Stansted the most easiest to get to Hamburg as it’s on the outside of London so that means no ULEZ charges for going to Heathrow . Simple with the 1 terminal and the free set down parking . Great for making it in time and saying bye to family.
LesleyFlew with Wizz Air-Feb 2026
Wizz air were great. We paid for fast track security which meant no queues & straight to duty free etc.
DavidFlew with British Airways-Jan 2026
Iberia make you go to the scales with your karyon bags and weigh each of them before you queue up to Board.
EricaFlew with British Airways-Jan 2026
Its only 2 hours, so you wont suffer for too long. Try not to get a middle seat. Bring your own water.
FiruzFlew with British Airways-Dec 2025
be early at london airport as it can be very busy at security. Flight announcement are not brilliant at terminal 5
MiroslavFlew with British Airways-Jan 2026
Focus and study airport map, look all lines of terminal before check in
DeborahFlew with Aer Lingus-Jun 2025
Heathrow seems to have a lot of plane traffic so make sure you have a good cushion of time if you have connecting flights. I had a 2 hour layover but ended up having to run to make sure I got to the other gate in time.
Verified travelerFlew with Aer Lingus-Jun 2025
If you’re doing a transfer speak to someone at the desk don’t use an automated kiosk
Kathleen PFlew with easyJet-Jun 2025
It is a long way to the Easy Jet boarding gate! Go here early!
ZakFlew with TAP AIR PORTUGAL-Mar 2025
Don't bother with business if you are flying out of LHR before 06:30 as the lounges and fast track security only open at 06:00 so you will not have time to use them. For short haul European flights this is most of the benefit of going business class. Hand luggage only is better with a large rucksack (30-40L) instead of a case with wheels is possible as gate agents will usually check cases with wheels on full flights and your rucksack is less likely to be gate checked.
AssuerusFlew with Austrian Airlines-Mar 2025
buy your drink before boarding. no coffee or tea on the flight.
HUGOFlew with Air France-Mar 2025
Go to the airport early, Terminal 4 is quite complicated
RadicalFlew with American Airlines-May 2025
Make sure you have clothes in your carry on!
KillianFlew with British Airways-May 2025
Dublin airport a shambles when it comes to collecting luggage or getting a cab. Allow plenty of extra time.
MarkFlew with British Airways-Dec 2024
I would definitely recommend priority boarding as we’re didn’t book this and were the last group to board and had to hunt for overhead cabin bag space.
ForrestFlew with TAP AIR PORTUGAL-Dec 2024
Book a morning flight so if it's cancelled you have time to adjust. All the airlines operating between the two are budget airlines so don't expect great service.
Verified travelerFlew with Icelandair-Feb 2025
Pack snacks. Expensive restaurants and no in flight food unless ordered.
KestutisFlew with Ryanair-Oct 2024
I always say the same thing. Check the weather day before flight and just in case Arrive 1:30 early.. :)
SadiqFlew with British Airways-Sept 2024
Domestic flights only need a valid photo id like drivers license (I carried my passport anyway but wish I'd just left it in the safety of home).
ChiaraFlew with easyJet-Sept 2024
Do the check in before otherwise in case of overbooking you risk to don’t get on that flight you paid
ThomasFlew with Aer Lingus-Oct 2024
You will likely have to walk a lot more than you might expect to make a connection.
EllenFlew with British Airways-Oct 2024
Move quickly to your connecting flight gate. Crowded, busy airport and likely another security check.
Laura LeighFlew with British Airways-Oct 2024
Be prepared for them canceling the flight last minute if the flight isn't full -- they only care about their profits, not customer service or abiding by the implied contract of getting you to where you need to be on time. Don't schedule anything for at least a day after your intended arrival time. And be ready for the terminal to be packed, noisy and uncomfortable. If you have another way of getting to Manchester, take it. Don't book this short haul flight as it's so unreliable.
Verified travelerFlew with KLM-Sept 2024
Cannot check baggage more than 3 hours before flight and so need to stay in departures babysitting suitcases.
SonyaFlew with British Airways-Jul 2024
Arrive 2 hours before and you will still have plenty of time. Even for bag drop! Heathrow is a great airport
Verified travelerFlew with Wizz Air-Jul 2024
Getting train from airport to city centre great. Even with one change. Cost £1.2 per person!!
GaryFlew with British Airways-Aug 2024
The overhead luggage bins are very small so they required us to check our hand carry luggage. I had to take my rechargable batteries out of my bag and put them in my rucksack. It would be a good idea to pack you hand carry luggage assuming you might need to check it in at the gate.
JonFlew with Icelandair-Jun 2024
Understanding the transit system. Something we had not done. So we took a cab that sat in a lot of traffic and cost us a lot of time and money when we could have taken the tube for very little cost and half time time
BenjaminFlew with easyJet-Aug 2024
It’s a quick flight so don’t pay for seat selection. Immigration takes 30-40 minutes if not EU citizen.
LiannFlew with British Airways-Aug 2024
Keep liquids altogether because you have to place it in a plastic bag from them
LauraFlew with Ryanair-Jul 2024
Copenhagen is EXPENSIVE! But the transport from the airport is easy and cheap (3kr).
Verified travelerFlew with British Airways-Jul 2024
Dont book layovers from two different airports unless you have 5 hours
HamishFlew with easyJet-Aug 2024
Get there early to avoid queues at the airport
Verified travelerFlew with British Airways-Apr 2024
If a passport control desk for EU citizens is not busy they may accept UK passports. Get a taxi to the city centre for only 90 zl. Good taxis.
PaulFlew with British Airways-Apr 2024
If you pay the basic rate you will most likely have to checking you wheel bag. Make sure you have something to put your tech in as that cannot go in the check in
Verified travelerFlew with British Airways-Apr 2024
Research the airline baggage allowance and hidden fees. Allow a few extra minutes when checking baggage as attendants don’t check the bags for you. Customers check their own bags at a kiosk.
JosepFlew with American Airlines-Apr 2024
Plan for plenty of time in Heathrow, as changing terminals takes time. And there will be extra security, with different rules from American security rules.
MarkFlew with Sky Express-May 2024
Don't forget your book, ipad or laptop to be able to kill those 3.5h hour flight.
KFlew with TAP AIR PORTUGAL-Apr 2024
Huge queues at Lisbon airport. Literally anywhere. Make sure you leave plenty of time for everything.
Verified travelerFlew with British Airways-Mar 2024
Don’t check your luggage if you can avoid it
NeelamFlew with British Airways-Dec 2023
British Airways and Bulgaria Air fly direct to Sofia from Heathrow. BA is better as hand baggage allowance is 23 kg. The downside is they give you no refreshments. Just a tiny bottle of water and a ridiculously small piece of snack with maybe 5 bites of nothing! They do however sell food onboard which is pretty overpriced and tastes lame so better to buy food before you board.
Verified travelerFlew with British Airways-Feb 2024
Have patience. Heathrow is crowded and they don’t post the gate until the last minute. Be prepared to travel a long distance to the gate once it gets posted and go immediately.
Verified travelerFlew with British Airways-Jan 2024
Be prepared. BA didn't provide a gate until 45 minutes pre-boarding, with only a 15-20 minute window for passengers to "board" a bus, to take them to their plane.
LavanFlew with Lufthansa-Jan 2024
Plan for a complicated transfer. Frankfurt am main is large. Even if you make it, your luggage may not. Take photos of your luggage in the hold.
LeaFlew with British Airways-Jan 2024
Put all toiletries in your suitcase below plan. London security is super strict about how many toiletries and their size

Nothing. There was no flight. They cancelled the flight with no replacement about 9 hours before takeoff.

Terrible. For clarity - this was the Level flight to Boston. Not Vueling. Would urge customers to avoid this airline. Gate agent was singularly unhelpful. He was argumentative, rude and went out of his way to ensure that every penny was collected for the baggage (which we realized given how early we were for flight we could have saved hundreds of dollars if we checked in on app). No onboard entertainment or WiFi. Half of the front section was empty because the seats did not work! Plane was falling apart.

Good standard flight the plan was clean could not complain the only thing is checking in the pushchair was very slow only 3 people at the counter.

I will never fly vueling. 1h30 delayed, connexion missed with the crew closing the boarding in front of us. 40 people missed the Barcelona-Orly connexion. hours waiting for rebooking and hotel.. inadmissible

Boarding was very poor as the flight was initially delayed. We were told the flight would be at 21:40. We were with our 10 month baby who was sleeping. I received an email from Kayak which said the flight was now due to take off at 21:04. When we checked the screens at Gatwick we were told the gate was closed. The lack of communication was extremely poor and we had to run with our baby and there were many other passengers, including elderly people, also running to the gate. When we got to the gate, the staff had no reasons for the poor communication.

We got to the airport 2 hours before the flight. We waited in a line to check our bags onto the flight for an hour, even despite having checked in online, as there weren't enough self check terminals allocated to Vueling (yet loads of empty BA ones right next to them). There also weren't enough staff, making them stressed and rude. We had to try and rush through security to get to our gate, which they announced as gate 35 at first and then changed it after ten minutes with no announcement to anyone in the airport that it had changed. So we then had to rush to the correct gate to arrive just as boarding started. It was a thoroughly stressful process and one travelling couple almost missed boarding because of it. The flight boarding and the flight itself werre fine, the staff were polite, but I was dehydrated due to the airport and had to buy a bottle of water as they didn't offer free drinks.

They stop online checkin above a certain capacity. We had to go to the airport to check-in at the desk. Or was offered to pay 7eur extra. Rip off.

I liked the regular updates and appreciated the automatic online checkin which didn’t work for our Vueling flight so I had to do this myself.

Great flight just took some time to board even when lining up early for the flight, even taking off took longer then expected.

Flight was delayed by 1 hour 45 minutes. Aircraft was cramped, dirty and uncomfortable. Boarding staff more interested in charging you for oversize baggage than getting you on board. Overall not a pleasant experience.

It's not the staff's fault. The cabin crew do their best but the setup in Stansted Airport by Ryanair is poor. The herding of people like cattle is unacceptable before boarding and is something that's in every airport but only in Stansted have I seen the queueing of passengers outside the plane on the tarmac and the crew only turning up with maybe 5 minutes to depart. This is a resource issue . Yes prices are good but seemingly comes with a price of poor treatment of customers. I'll pay more next time

It was appalling, full of young people who were drunk and disobeying instructions to sit down. Crew did nothing to enforce. There was a Ryanair pilot sitting in the aisle opposite me who talked through out the safety briefing so loudly I couldn’t hear. Whole thing felt unsafe

Delayed for 2 hours lack of communication no refreshments as promised and the drinks on board were not as ordered and refused to refund

We were diverted to warsaw and there was zero information. We were just forced to disembark and off we go good luck the reat of the way. We all had to go our ways to find a way home!!!! Horrible horrible and it cost us alot of money to get a hotel and trains 4:30 pm next day.

Blood contaminated tissue was stuffed to the back of the seat in front of us.

My flight was delayed 1 hour. My Mood was not great

This time round it was very good, flight delayed by 30mins but capitan put his toe to the floor and made some time up!!

Keep track of your departure times and communicate in Airport. I could have spend an hour more in my lounge

Flight was two hours delayed then instead of flying to Gatwick we got diverted to Southend airport! Then they cancelled our flight and we all got told we had to get off the plane and make our own way to wherever we had to go? EasyJet just abandoned us, no help and as a tourist not knowing even where I was? Disgusting behaviour from the company!!

There was no useful information given regarding the flight back to the UK from Tenerife. This despite the week publicised problems around the EES system and the delays caused to boarding. This aspect of the customer experience could have been much better.

Fast boarding, smooth takeoff and landing. plenty of space in seats. Excellent air-conditioning on a hot day. Perfect experience

Sitting on the last row in between the aisle and a massive person, all people going to the bathroom bumped into me including the flight attendants.

The best budget airline in Europe. Flight was on time, crew friendly and worked hard during flight and were able to meet our needs. Only downside (not the airline's fault), there were no rear steps.

It was transportation nothing more. I will give a positive rating over Ryanair. We missed our Ryanair flight the night before and received rude and unconcerned treatment from the Ryanair customer service. It was late. We were very tired and stressed after doing our best to get to the airport. The so called customer service ladies were completely unconcerned from the start. Aside from that, the flight to London seemed to be their opportunity for advertising. No time to relax as attendants were constantly in the aisle selling. I will never fly Ryanair again!!

Would not advise EasyJet for a 5 hour flight…small plane and hence a lot of turbulence. No inflight entertainment so struggle to pass time in cramped seats. We also fell victim to extra charge for our cabin bags, although bag dimensions were ok, but the handle was rigid and slightly fell outside their testing cage!!….never again will we fly with this airline and be party to their scams for making money!

The food and so are to expensive and old . Crew whas not very friendly . Apparently some other passenger can just Push through the waiting people to board while almost punching me and a father with a child down the stairs. Its always something with easy jet . The seats of row 26 where lose . And for a guy of my size there is absolutely no leg room at all .

Seats, WC,sizes for today's generation adults, and if technical problems arise a complimentary coffee, water nice for waiting one hours, the rest is perfect (pilot and cabin crew)

We accidentally purchased twice the bags we needed. Our fault, but the ticket was not clear to us, and it asked us to purchase bags at checkin. When we notified them to get credit back at the airport, they said to contact customer service. We flew the flight and then contracted customer service. They said no credits after the flight has flown. Not customer service oriented at all. They know we didn’t check that many bags and kept our money for a service they did not provide. Be aware and very careful of what you are purchasing from them because they will not make it right if there is an error.

I have a walker I need it to get from the plane to customs and baggage claim. It had a huge orange tag on it saying it should be given to me as I got off the plane. It was not and the flight staff didn’t know where it was—both on my flight to London and on the return. In It was very frustrating

They forced me to check my wheel bag because there was a full flight. This was very frustrating. I went out of my way when planning my trip to not have to check any bags. Usually, they ask people if they are willing to check a bag they do not force people. This felt like bad planning on the part of the airline.

Had a plane! Have a plan! Have my luggage! 10 hours of travel turned into 50 hours. Good Lord!

Those seats were very comfortable. Nice leg room and food was great 👍

because the previous flight operated by BA was delayed, when arrived to the gate, I was surprised that I was taken out of this flight and they rebook me but with a different seat

We arrived at 430a for our flight. We only had carry on so we were sent to security. The BA person was tagging all carryon in case a shortage of bin space. We were on the plane like 20th and told we had to check carryon because it had a tag. Unexpected and unnecessary

The travel on premium economy class was very positive. Comfortable with plenty of space and leg room. The service throughout was top notch. Crew members were kind and helpful. Food and entertainment were excellent.

Based on my wife's damaged condition, BA very kindly upgraded us from cattle to business class. MUCH appreciated!! One of these days, as it gains more experience, BA MAY learn how to depart on time (with over 30 years experience with BA, no flight has EVER managed to leave on time), Once airborne, the entertainment was ever so very pedestrian. But the flight was uneventful and the cabin crew's service was superb. And whichever driver landed the aircraft had obviously done it before. But BA unfortunately is learning from that scuzzy airline Delta. Delta is ALWAYS stunned when one of its aircraft actually turns up anywhere and is NEVER ready to receive it -- even when it turns up where and more or less when it is supposed to, NOT an example worthy of emulation.

Flight crew were really rude & unwilling to help. We were their last flight of the day & they made it very clear they just wanted to get the flight done & everything we were asking to purchase was an inconvenience. Really disappointed with BA

Incredible. The upgrade to Business was a phenomenal way to end my trip, beyond grateful for the generosity and hospitality.

Far easier than I expected it to be. Checked in online & had our boarding passes emailed through. Straight through security & boarded on time. No issues.

Very efficient boarding. Plane lready for take ooff10 minutes before time.

Great crew. Seats do not recline :( but it is budget so i should have known. Otherwise comfy leather chair. Slight slim chair but again budget so expected. No entertainment do makes journey boring. Recommend packing plenty of snacks and games or download plenty of films and music in your device. Staff excellent. Clean flight. On time.

Were delayed in the airport for 5 hours with no explanation. Flight kept getting delayed by an hour at a time and wizz air staff were no where to be found

The cabin crew on that flight were super fantastic and super helpful. They were so polite and considerate that i felt i travelled with a 5star airline.

Delayed delayed delayed - always with Wizzair. Staff were friendly and well mannered but clearly the company is unorganized and the aircrafts are outdated.

4 hr delay and only told less than 2hrs before. Only given water and nuts on the flight as complimentary service. Left to wait in rain before boarding.

To be honest I did not like anything. Communication to why my flight was cancelled mid air 2 and half hours into my flight. Customer service desk were not helpful with providing information or a solution on what can be done.

What I liked new airplane Sitting was extremely uncomfortable! Crew not smiley at all Always chewing gum

The flight was cancelled just 4 hours before the take off...
