If this was a TSA requirement then everyone should be subject to a second security check."

I was telling a friend today, Swiss Air started with drinks, gave us a Parisian baguette sandwich, gave us a healthy breakfast of yoghurt warm croissant butter jam orange juice, drinks again, and several passengers surrounding me got special attention, one woman with a baby, a disabled person, and a teenager that was 6'5" was relaocated by the flight attendant without him even asking to a bulkhead seat for more comfort. You don't see this kind a attention to detail on any US flights or US airlines, so I noticed it. It was as if I was traveling back in the 70's or 80's when Airlines would compete for our dollars with their service. I mentioned to my friend that if I had a choice and Swiss Air was one of the choices, I'd choose Swiss Air over any other airline."

Why are they not excluding transferring passengers from this nightmare. Because it is a nightmare. Long and disorganized lines where travelers, that have diverse leaving times, are trying to enter 4 check points that work slow and nobody manages all that mess. On the plane, absolute unnecessarily (they had extra unoccupied seats) they took one of our carry-on-s with the check in luggage. The seats are extremely tight and offer a very small place for the economy class. Nothing special about the food."

Snacks were served almost immediately, and then dinner. For a brief time the passenger in front of me had her seat up for dinner. Pros: "My flight was canceled and Virgin Atlantic gave us a free room in the hotel Ramada. My next flight was at 18:55 and I asked Virgin Atlantic agent am I allowed to stay in the room until time for my flight comes, he confirmed yes and gave me breakfast, lunch, and dinner voucher. However, next day around 12 I got call from Front Desk that I have to leave my room right away because it's time to chack out and If I want to stay longer I have to pay. I called Virgin Atlantic agancy again and the agent run my information and said to me I can stayin the room longer. After that I called front desk to confirm that but they said they didn't hear anything from Virgin Atlantic and I have to leave the room by 1pm. All of this was really unpleasant!"

It took me almost 20 minutes to walk to the gate just in time for boarding and was pleased that my bag had made it onto the same flight. Pros: "The flight attendants were good - they run a tight ship, both from a safety perspective and looking out for the passengers. That said, they should have allowed me to move to any open seat, except first class, to accommodate any passenger with broken equipment at the seat they selected."

The flight attendants should be allowed to seat an inconvenienced passenger in any open seat in the event of broken equipment. Space in the seats was ridiculously tight for a 7 hr international flight."

The cabin crew were fantastic - very accommodating because I wasn't able to pre-select my vegetarian option online earlier due to the code share. They were very polite and professional. The seats were relatively comfortable and the movies onboard were aired and good. I would fly Air Canada again."

I really disliked not being able to check in online 24 hours before on either Lufthansa's site or Air Canada. That is ridiculous in this day and age - surely the two airlines can coordinate something were the traveller can check in online on one of the sites. Also, as a vegetarian, I wasn't able to select my meal - I had to hope that they had enough vegetarian meals to give me one. This is another problem thanks to the code share. If this is what code sharing is like, I won't be doing it again. No thanks. I'll book directly."

He did ask if I was on a first class ticket, so I guess FC doesn't have to adhere to baggage size. Others with larger bags were allowed on board. My other flights with Lufthansa had no problem with the same bag. We were transported by bus from the gate to the plane!?!? In the rain. And this was an international flight!?!? Attendants took 10 minutes to answer call button and then asked if it was a mistake. I asked for water to take meds as I was overlooked by beverage service. Another attendant walked up and said he had bypassed me as I was asleep. I showed him the snack package he had handed me and asked how had he given me snacks if I was asleep? He snapped back that he was sorry. I almost asked if he was sorry he was caught lying or sorry he was on board?"

Skipped a few rows with drinks and then told them there was no time to bring even a glass of water. I can't imagine how anyone bigger than me felt. My seat was toward the back of the plane, and it took the crew over an hour to reach us once they started the drink and food carts. One time my row got entirely skipped for the drink cart, even though we were awake. This was a problem because they didn't come by for another 5.5 hours with more water/drinks, and they did not give us water bottles for that time period like Delta does. The food wasn't tasty, but it was eatable. The movie options were great, but that was all I could do on the screen because half of mine did not respond to touch, which meant no games and I could only select movies on the left half of my screen. Weird."

The food they served was very bad, especially again in comparison with Air Canada. Once we arrived in Toronto, they made us wait nearly an hour before exiting the aircraft. It would seem that the Toronto airport would have to know we were coming and should have prepared accordingly, but apparently not. We sat, several passengers missed their connecting flights and were angry. I nearly missed my flight, having to run and race through customs (who are in no hurry)."

When we debarked from the Austrian Airline onto the tarmac and picked up our luggage, I could find no signs indicating where to go for connecting flights, nor any signs indicating the gates of connecting flights. I was told that to make a connecting flight, I should go out to the main lobby of the airport, At the information desk they directed me to the Air Canada check in desk, where I found the check-in for my flight was closed. That was the the beginning of a nightmare chase to get to the plane to Toronto. I made it only because of the kindness of people in the check in, security and customs lines. Austrian Airlines should be kinder to its passengers making connecting flights. They seemed to abandon us passengers in a chaotic airport."

Sometimes she asked me if I wanted a drink or something and as I was answering she looked away and moved on. I couldn't believe it. Then after pressing the service button and waiting a long time for her to return, she acted like it was a huge inconvenience."

Also, even though there was not much turbulence throughout the flight, the plane was still VERY shaky for the majority of the time in the air. Cons: "The plane was delayed just over 3 hours by a mechanical problem with the radar. We taxied to a remote gate while they tried to fix it. Original estimates were an hour, but it ended up being 3 hours. We stayed onboard which was probably best in this case - but having been trapped by United on a flight many years ago from 4 pm until midnight with 3 small children and then told to come back at 7 am the next day - I am very wary of the airline now and actually drive from Washington to Chicago as we could have done that in the time they trapped us! This flight was practically empty however, so unlike many transatlantic flights, we could spread out and were more comfortable than usual. So that was lucky for United otherwise my scores might have been a LOT worse! Also, we hadn't eaten, figuring that we would eat dinner on the flight. So after 3 hours we were a bit peckish! The crew came around with a cookie and water. Really think that might have been a little more especially considering the flight had so few passengers. So we arrived back in DC just about 10 pm and, after clearing customs and getting bags, were home to Arlington about midnight - 5 am our time! Given the conditions and circumstances, the crew did a good job. I would like to think that Austrian Airlines would have some input with United. The outbound daytime flight from Washington to London had been simply terrific with a wonderful crew - new to the route I think. They gave as pointers as to what we were seeing out the window, which we always appreciate. Just as my daughter wondered what we were seeing out the window, the captain would tell us. So in short, the outbound flight was in a different league to the return flight. But that's down to United and not Austrian Airlines. And these things happen and I'm glad we didn't have to change planes or make other plans."

However, other than those two very minor things, it was a wonderful flight. I have never flown with a better crew, you could really tell they all actually enjoy their jobs. I loved that the pilot had a great sense of humor, he told a few funny jokes after we landed(while we were taxiing) it definitely helped make the time pass faster & I honestly think it put everyone in a good mood :) I have never been more satisfied with a flight. I will most definitely recommend WestJet to everyone I know, and will be my first choice for flying myself."

West Jet also put together a special team in Toronto to rebook passengers with connecting flights to later flights. This meant they had a new boarding pass ready and waiting for me by the time I got to Toronto, so the disruption was minimized."

Unfortunately, we ended up delayed on the tarmac for over 3 hours and they ran out of hot meals before they reached my seat row. I had to make do with crackers, cheese and fruit as my dinner. Lesson learned: always reserve my meal (or buy one) before boarding my flight - you never know what kind of delays will occur. To be fair, the crew did offer me a free glass of wine to go with it, which was a nice touch."

I found plenty of other flights for same or even cheaper prices with quality airline companies like Lufthansa or Air Canada that include a meal and checked baggage and other perks, but in my case I had already booked. I really recommending you looking for other airline companies for any flight that is not short haul. WestJet's slogan is an airline company with owner that care... Whatever the hell that means. Maybe someone can explain? WestJet brags about it's outstanding customer service while at the same time cutting every corner possible on service. Kind of a contradiction."

Cons: "It sucks that the crew had to deal with so many angry passengers after we were stuck on the tarmac for 2 hours and in the gate for 1 hour, with a total delay of 3 hours, causing many other passengers to miss their connections. That said, the crew did their best to remain positive and accommodating."

Pros: "Our choice to pay the upgrade to Plus seating was WELL worth the cost. My husband and I had never flown 'first class' before and thought on this almost 9 hour flight we would give it a try. Wow! Seat comfort was fantastic. Service was wonderful. Food was great. We were made to feel like royalty."

Cons: "The planes are worn out with the result that they often have mechanical problems. When the new promised planes arrive this will be a great service. The saving grace of the current service really is the personnel, unlike US carriers if they can help they will."

Cons: "The gate in LGW was one of the farthest in the aiport. The flight ia 8.5 hours and the ticket is not cheap. But you have to pay for everything. Even onvboard entertainment. The only free thing is the soft drinks and that is even rationed. I flew with worst airline and for long flight they at least give a free meal."

Pros: "Ended up getting quite the deal on the flight back and forth between Toronto and London. The flight did leave a few minutes later but nothing unexpected. The crew was very nice and very friendly. The food was decent, they came around for drinks 3 times and twice for snacks (you have an option of pretzel sticks or biscuits and they're both pretty good - I'm partial to the biscuits. Not gonna lie, I was able to ask them for both a couple times, and they obliged."
Cons: "There are no onboard entertainment systems, you must bring your own device and even then their WestJet app has bugs - so the app kept crashing on my Nexus 5X whenever I tried to play a movie or TV show."

Cons: "Was flying alone with my 8-month baby. At five hours in he needed a break from sitting on my lap. After standing for a while (in the least in-the-way spot we could find) a flight attendant began to get huffy each time she passed and finally asked pointedly if she could get something for us. I offered to go back to my seat which she said would be helpful. In hindsight I think she could have given us a little more grace given the age of the baby and length of flight, or at least have explained the situation more politely!"

Pros: "West jet has always been the airline I choose to travel with, even more now after the fires in Fort McMurray"
Cons: "The 7 hour flight is just long and hard for anyone's body"

Pros: "Nothing. WestJet charges astronomical prices for poor service which cannot even compare with budget airlines."
Cons: "I paid $15 for a meal on this flight seeing as it is transcontinental, and I would be hungry at some point. I chose a vegetarian option. The stewardess dropped off the meal, which was pasta with a side of pasta salad (no vegetables in the vegetarian option..), while I was sleeping. My girlfriend asked for wine to go with our meals, which we were charged for at an additional cost. The wine arrived an hour and a half after our meals arrived. Later in the flight, a stewardess dropped off a Turkey croissant sandwich on my tray table, waking me up for the second time that trip. I called the stewardess back and explained that I hadn't ordered a Turkey sandwich. She explained that a sandwich came as part of the meal I ordered. I stated that I would be happy to receive a sandwich, but that the Turkey did not correspond to the vegetarian option I had specified. She proceeded to take the sandwich away, and did not return for the remainder of the flight. I have issues every time I fly with WestJet; poor performance, service, and customer relations. I've travelled on 7 different air carriers in the last 28 days, and WestJet is by far the worst. I paid €19 for a flight from Munich to Brussels from a WestJet competitor, received excellent customer service from smiling stewardesses, complimentary Beer and Wine, and even chocolate and a snack. I paid over €500 to fly with WestJet, and received nothing but a resurgent sour taste in my mouth. I've given second, third, and fourth chances with WestJet but I believe they have lost my business forever at this point. Truly disappointing to say the least."

Cons: "The Plus seats were worse than the West Jet outbound flight. Plane was older, the seats hardly reclined (which is why I originally paid for a plus seat) and the plane was not cleaned well. I went to use the washroom before take-off and it was not cleaned properly and my tray table had food stains on it."

Pros: "I expected free entertainment for a 10 hour flight (only if you had your own iPad). Although I thought they offered good movie options, it was very limited, so not sure everyone would agree."
Cons: "On a 10+ hour flight, I expected free meals, so I didn't eat before the flight. I was charged $9 for an extremely small shepherd's pie (bc they didn't have the other 2 meals that I asked for first). Guests were only offered coffee, tea or water and had to pay extra for soda, juice, etc. The flight attendants seemed annoyed any time someone turned on the light to request their attention, yet they did not scan the aisles often at all. I also have had free headphones on most flights I've ever taken, yet was charged $3.50 for horrible headphones (they had $10 and $30 options as well but I wasn't about to spend that). On my 9 hour flight to Europe on different airline, I received 2 free meals, snack, free wine and was offered soda/juice/etc and free headphones."
