Pleasant staff. Great location. Stained and fraying carpet in hallways. Tiny bathrooms. No amenities such as in room fridge or continental breakfast. Loud air conditioner unit.
The location is perfect. Near all the tourist attractions. It doesn't have breakfast.
hotel should provide breakfast.
The location is the one you want. It's close to whatever you wanna visit at Chicago. Staff is really courteous, the room size is OK, the roof terrace is really nice. Again, this is mostly about the location which is the best in town. Nothing I actually disliked, but the hotel is in serious need of money to go through a much needed renovation. Once they do this, the price won't be the same tho.
Location The hallways had hole in walls, tears and tons of stains in carpeting. Needs major upkeep. Only thing good is the location. Paid 15$ for fasted speed internet which was supposed to be 8mbps it closed in less Then 3mbps
Beds were comfortable Staff prompt and friendly It was dirty---floors dirty, wrappers on the floor, cereal on the floor, carpet torn in areas, pack n play had crusted food on it.
The bed was very old and not comfortable, not hotel standard my own bed at home much better. The rooms need to be remodeled. Matres
It was a fantastic hotel! While the room wasn't large, it was up to date and clean. Services were fantastic and the staff was friendly, helpful, and informative. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will absolutely stay here again.
Great location! Lobby looked cute but once you stepped onto the other floors it was below average (dirty carpets, mediocre rooms, small bathrooms). Not what was expected from view on website, lobby, and location.
Location, Location Location and the price was better then other hotels in the area. Room was outdated, bathroom was smaller than an airplane restroom.
The location was great, comfortable. Not a lot of facilities but in city and I didn't need them. Great value. Comfortable bed. Carpet completely worn in hallway. Paint peeling in bathroom. Bath floor a little sticky.
decent room power outlet in bedside light (super!) Nice cleaning staff Easy access to downtown Super expensive internet Room is sort of depressing in design, decor. Somewhere someone would meet a dark fate in a Twilight zone episode.
Extremely helpful staff and the facilities were first class from room amenities to the gym. Location is great - easy walking access to shopping, tourist destinations etc
great accomodations and service
The staff was extremely helpful with everything from directions to meal preferences. The quality of atmosphere was also very good. The decor and views from the hotel were better than anywhere I've ever stayed. The pool area was not on par with the essence or ambiance of the rest of the hotel, with the lack of hot tub areas and the extreme plainness of the pool area compared to the rest of the hotel.
This is a great hotel the atmosphere that employees everyone was great there
Superior service and accommodations, personal at hotel far superior to any staff at any hotel!
Service staff never made me feel like I was a bother. I loved the spacious and newly remodeled room we stayed in. Beautiful bump out bay window with breathtaking views of the river and Lake Michigan. Bathroom had very high end finishes, and also included a television in the mirror! The maintenance guy who tried to fix a broken bathroom light was using very profane language as he failed at repairing the light. However, this staff member's behavior scored us a free upgrade from city view - to river lake view - so it all worked out.
Gorgeous lobby with polite staff. The bed was incredibly comfy and the room fairly clean. We had a room that shared a door with another room. It was EXTREMELY loud despite the gentlemen next door speaking in normal volume levels. They had their tv quite low, yet we could hear every word. It made us very uncomfortable. We chose not to make a fuss out of it since we had a terrible drive in and we were only staying one night. The bathroom was TINY.
Décor in the lobby was fantastic, staff in the restaurant were wonderfully attentive. Excessive noise due to an event with 200 high school and young adults. They were allowed to run up and down the stair wells until 4am even after complaining to the front desk. I expected the Palmer House to be luxury accommodations, but found in reality they do not care about their guests. Host at the Honors desk was very short and abrupt.
Incredibly beautiful hotel. The lobby is a masterpiece. I felt like I was transported in time...with modern amenities close by. Wish there was a refrig in the room but other than that, this trip was perfect. I plan to visit The Palmer many more times.
The hotel is historic, but apart from the lobby, which is impressive, the historic details are not well preserved, so overall it feels less like a grand old hotel and more like just an old and run-down hotel. The room was small; carpet was worn out; drapes hideous; no fan in the bathroom; a tray of junk food was set out on display front of the bed, which could not be moved without incurring a charge, so it was like we were sleeping in a convenience store.
The check in was smooth and easy. Our attendant answered all of our questions and made great suggestions for food and activities. I will say, i had the BEST caramel macchiato at the Starbucks that is in this hotel. I told the barista then, and i'm saying it again now, it was hands down the best! The bed seemed really firm which is unusual for hotels, usually they are plush.
We had a lovely room, very well decorated. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. It was quiet and the staff was extremely personable whenever we came across them. The lobby itself is worth a visit. It's like stepping into a guided yesteryear. The paint on the back of the bathroom door was flaking. The tv is too small and it was hard to get the remote to work with it from the beds.
Walk into the grand lobby and you feel like you're part of Chicago history. The rooms are a little small.
In the middle of everywhere I needed to be! Near read line, near great restaurants and near the bean. Bed was a bit too uncomfortable and no water pressure in shower.
The main lobby and bar were beautiful and relaxing areas and the hotel is well maintained and clean. Rooms and bathroom were very small and the building is definitely an older building. That being said, the interiors were clean and well taken care of, and the common areas were very well kept and beautiful.
Location was great. Near millennium park and downtown attractions Never experienced worse hotel staff than this. From the bell man to reception to guest services
Location Beds were lopsided, couldn't sleep on it.
Efficient and clean
I stayed here for business and also leisure. I chose this hotel based off of location and it was perfectly placed near all of the great tourism spots in the city. I walked everywhere all weekend, which is a great way to burn off all the delicious food Chicago has to offer. The view from the room of the city and the Chicago river is spectacular. The hotel staff was extremely nice, accommodating and the rooms were very clean. The parking fee to keep your car there during your stay is astronomical. We received a note card saying we get a "free gift" for staying there in our room the first morning we were there. When we turned it in, it was a free vacation only if you were over 28 and married and your spouse was staying with you, which I didn't qualify for as my spouse was at home. Because of that, I received one drink with an appetizer purchase (so not a free gift if you have to buy something ) at the hotel resturant. I think gimmicks like this are insulting and a waste of the guests time.
Great people! Helpful and personal service. We requested a river view room (def worth the extra $$!) and were surprised with an amazing corner room with the greatest views! This location is better than staying up in the Mag Mile area if you plan on seeing the sights. Short walk to Millenium Park, Art Institute, and the L. And you are right at the base of the Mag Mile. Loved being on the river more than I can say! The room was clean and comfy, not a five star hotel but a very acceptable four star. The restaurant/bar is not wonderful, but we don't go to Chicago to eat in the hotel. The shower had one of those fancy yet totally impractical giant shower heads that comes down from the center of the ceiling. A trend that needs to go away.
I loved that we had a mini sofa in our room. I would have liked a mirror outside of the bathroom - 4 people had to share one mirror for hair, makeup etc.
Wedding with loud DJ two floors above us kept us up one night. We called the desk and they seemed like they couldnt have cared less about our concern
It was nice and in a great location They gave me a single king room with no view but I payed for a double queen with a view and even paid extra for a view room and then just gave us a free meal that sucked
Loved the view from our room. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Some of the bellhop men could be more friendly but besides that it was a very amazing stay for our family!
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Wonderful room! At least 2 ice machines were not operational.
staff super professional and freindly location is great rooms are great price to valet parking "free" WIFI in rooms, weak
One of the better exercise areas I've seen in a hotel. A shop downstairs for incidentals (especially water) would be nice, instead of having to walk to the nearby Seven Eleven.
Great last minute room rate. Odors in lobby and hallway. Exhaust problems from kitchen.
Everything... not the room i asked for... was lied too. telling me things would be the same and werent... not even close. will not use again.
We loved the location, the room and the view- just didn't like being next to the elevator. Other than that- it was great!!
Easy walk to many restaurant, sites and public transportation.
almost everything $65 for parking at their hotel. too much for guest
Massive hotel. too big. very unpersonal. conference hotel and for group travel.
I enjoyed my stay. No recommendations for improvement T this time
Location was great. Staff was nice. Workout facility adequate. The BIG bar and the common spaces were really neat. no convienent way to have towels replaced. You had to call housekeeping. Also the sink was small, no place to leave personal items on sink. Couldn't use the refrigerator because it was rigged to charge you for minibar items.
Check in was busy but efficient Because it was our 10th wedding anniversary I called to have a bottle of proseco waiting for us in the room. I was told they didn't have proseco but it was listed in the menu. The walls are paper thin. So much so not only could I hear the guy next door but I could also hear the person he was talking to on the phone. came downstairs to get my car from the valet and was told it would take 20 minutes. No one said anything when I checked in and there were no instructions that allowed you to call ahead from your room. Bathroom floor was sticky. Overall, the worse hotel visit.
Centrally located and accessible to tourist attractions. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Value priced.
Overall good stay here, the lobby is great with friendly front desk staff and the Big Bar is pretty cool to grab a couple drinks. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The bell hop that helped us with our bags was extremely rude and not helpful. Also the bartender we had was not very pleasant.
From check in to check out, our stay at the Hyatt Regency was a superb experience. The staff was genuinely hospitable, and the entire facility was luxurious. The premium view is worth the extra $$$, as we had a breathtaking view of the river and lakefront. Definitely recommend. It was pricey, but definitely worth it. I really can't say anything else that was undesirable, as our stay was basically perfect.
Bed was to soft pillows
Very clean comfortable room with a great view. Close to many areas we wanted to visit. Would definitely choose this hotel again.
I liked the central location of the hotel. I think the charge for internet-acces is ridiculous, the room-service sometimes took very long (1,5 hour) and they tried to charge me more than what I had originally booked for.
Location of the hotel was close to downtown and many activities I would like wireless internet in guest rooms (for free)
Spacious room Had to wait for my room Heating went into cooling so too sensitive and could not control to heat only. Bath tub did not drain well.
I enjoyed the view of the Chicago River, watching the excursion boats, view of the Trump hotel.
Was ok Thanks Dirty cutlery/plates left by the cleaning staff left in the passage for more than 24 hours.
Bed linens and beds were comfy. Motelish
The location was perfect! We were able to shop, enjoy the nightlife, and take in the Chicago Marathon. Everything was close by. The price was pretty high, but we stayed over Columbus Day/Chicago Marathon weekend so I guess that rooms were at a premium.
Additional price for fittness facilities ($12 per/person per day);Long-distance rates (over $10 per minute !!!), spring water provided in rooms - almost $6 per 1,89L bottle
Nothing!!!! Because my credit card was charged twice for $1068.72!!!! And it absolutely ruined my trip!!!! My credit card was charged twice for $1068.72!!!! And it absolutely ruined my trip!!!! Also... When making my reservation through Booking.com, the Sheraton Chicago didn't have my reservation in their system!!! Booking.com had to fax over my reservation twice, hence the double charge on my credit card!!!!
Friendly, professional staff. Great accommodations. Perfect location. Especially liked the on-site dining options.
It was a great location and the staff was very friendly. I spent a lot of time looking for a room that would comfortably fit 3 adults. I was traveling with my 19 year old daughter and my 67 year old mother. I specifically booked and paid for a "triple room". When we got to the room there were 2 small double beds. Not at all what I expected for 3 adults or for $400 per night. Be very aware of what you are actually getting for your money. This was not at all comfortable for 3 regular sized adults. I will say everything else was fine but I felt very ripped off for what we paid vs. what we got. I could have booked a regular room anywhere for much less.
Comfort and the attention of the reception employees. The location is also excellent. The room was not clean. I found a dirty glass under the bed. Besides, dirty plates remained for long hours in front of the doors of some rooms. I really hope it was an exception: that´s why I keep on recommending the hotel.
Not convient. Poor service
Friendly staff and clean facility No complaints
Stayed here Dec 12-14, 2014, this was our 2nd time staying here due to close proximity to Navy Pier's Winter Wonderland. Last year the Manager's reception offered better appetizers, seemed to be a bit cheaper this year. Staff is wonderful and room was really clean. We had an issue with the thermostat, it was almost 80 degrees the whole stay. The kids love it here, it's really family oriented. They seemed to like swimming in the pool better than Winter Wonderland, they made several little friends during our short stay. Will probably be back next year, we love it here.
Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Enjoyed happy hour each night.
Located close to shopping and conference centers Amenities are average
Great location and comfortable rooms; breakfast was an awesome surprise in variety and quality Room service was slow, rooms not super clean and could definitely do without the lobby dance music during the day when kids were napping
Staff was very helpful and we were able to get a later checkout upon our departure, which was nice and allowed to kids to swim for a bit before we left. Check in and out was easy, and parking was easily accessible. The price on the all inclusive Disney kids on Demand TV package I order did not reflect what was charged to my bill. It was only a difference of $2.99 and ultimately not a big deal, but still, I feel as though you should be paying what you are quoted. Also, being that it was a holiday weekend, it would have been nice if breakfast was open until 10 as it is on the weekends, but I get the weekend vs. weekend schedule. The lines were a bit long by the end of breakfast and early breakfast is always hard to do with my kids. But again, not a huge deal in the whole scheme of things. We will definitely be back.
Very good location Hotel wasn't nearly as nice as other embassy suites I have stayed at.
Nice hotel, casual and comfortable. Great breakfast. Very convenient to Navy Pier. Would definitely reccomend to friends and would stay here again.
The suite was spacious, with separate bedroom and sitting areas, a kitchen, two televisions, a large desk, breakfast bar and lots of windows. The bathroom was recently renovated and extremely clean, as was the rest of the room. It was very quiet. I wished that the wireless internet service was available in room, rather than just in the lobby. The free breakfast was unremarkable. The location was within fairly easy walking distance of many attractions, but there were very few restaurants to choose from in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
Comfortable, great location, clean and spacious - exactly what we needed for a short trip to Chicago.
Loved this hotel!!! Staff was really friendly and helpfull, the room was a great size and the view just amazing. The location is excellent - close to the attractions, shopping malls and the public transport.
Location, staff, clean and with the exception of very little water on the 25 th floor, very nice. The hotel lacked water for bathing. We stayed on the 25th floor and were told that was the reason. Interesting
We liked the over-sized room that was clean and close to everything that we wanted to do. The staff was friendly & helpful. The parking issues others note really was not that big of a deal. The hotel is quiet and in our opinion, a fantastic value.
It's a great place to stay
The comfort of the hotel That the hotel don't have a free parking for the guests, that is the worst.
We were on the 23rd floor and the view of the City was increadable. The room was wonderful, very clean, and every detail was taken care of. I would highly recomend the Comfort Suites Michigan Avenue to all my friends. Every day we had to go to the lobby to get our key cards re-magnatised.
Location could not be better. The suit was really very comfortable with washing maschine, kitchen and 2 TV not
Excellent value for money. Huge room/suite. No shower pressure
close to Michigan Avenue bad noise in duct everytime air came on. kept me awake most of the night. advertised as 2 room suite, but NOT 2 separate rooms - very misleading.
the hotel is very neat. it seemed to me that there were very few staff around at any given time and that made me to feel isolated and virtually alone. the service points appear all automated and as a result, the human touch was absent.
The staff were helpful, friendly. The location was ideal - central and walking distance to most things we wanted to see and do. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The water they make available near the lifts on each floor was a welcome treat since the weather was very hot during our stay. We also stayed with them for our 2nd visit to Chicago.
Excellent location, check in, check out was very efficient. Liked the bottled water in the hall by the elevators.
Allowed to check in early. Tv screens are too small
I could not find anything that I disliked. I drove to Chicago and used the valet parking which was very convenient.
This hotel is good, but the better is your localization. It's closer River and Michigan Ave. It's do not have breakfast.
Our room was awesome. Very very comfortable!
the location is very good. The room clean service.
Very close to the city centre with excellent views of the river and a very comfortable room Soaps, shampoos, milks and tea were not replenished
It's hard to exactly explain the understated but rich comfort of the Silversmith. They've put a lot of effort into getting the interior design just right, in the lobby as well as in the rooms, both of which are very comfortable. The staff is welcoming and friendly. All in all this is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at, and we've stayed at many. I guess in a nutshell I would say it reminds me of a Kimpton hotel, but with a more quietly dignified attitude. I was underwhelmed by the restaurant downstairs, but it doesn't really matter since there are plenty of dining options in that part of the Loop
Was a bit of a mess but it will end. Not all rooms have a desk for computers
Loved the atmosphere, very pretty, very nice hotel. Had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend it.
Everyone was just so helpful - whether it was advice on the train system, to off the beaten path restaurants or activities, all of the staff went out of their way to help us enjoy our trip to Chicago. The room was very quiet - we seldom heard any noise outside of our door. There was a bit of construction outside the hotel, but even that added to the peace we felt at the facility.
Like the decor, rooms were warm and clean, bathroom big and well-lit. Gym was fine, too
The location was nice. Boring hotel, average style rooms and amenities for the price range hotel
Talk to Bennie when you get there. He'll get you set up downtown.
Didn't stay here long but got upgraded to a beautiful suite. Great facilities, decor, etc. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a great choice!
Location, location, location Two blocks from Chicago 'bean' - cloud gate and parks. Front of hotel with construction for 'E' was not pretty -- but we never heard any noise in our room.
This is a charming boutique hotel in the heart of the South Loop. Well worth a stay.
I was delighted to be upgraded to a suite, which was very attractively and comfortably furnished - I'm a fan of Mission style. The location is great. Only a few yards away from the Madison-Wabash CTA stop, easy walking distance to Millenium Park, Art Institute of Chicago, the lakefront, many fine restaurants, and the Lyric Opera. Having Ada's downstairs is also a plus for breakfast or lunch. I wish the hotel would provide real glasses for drinking instead of soft plastic cups.
We got a great rate on kayak. The room was spacious, bathroom was huge, and shower was great. Lots of storage and hangers. Staff was extremely helpful, very nice, and very quick when help was needed. The view of the room was awful. We looked at a very dirty alleyway with a view of a brick wall. Also our truck was damaged by the valet service. They assured us they would make it right, so that's why I still gave them 4 stars.
Great location. Morning coffee and afternoon wine. The room was too dark. There is inadequate lighting. Pillows were feather but far too soft.
Stylish, friendly staff, good location. Lovely L'Occetaine toiletries, but putting bath products (those bath "bombs") for sale in the bathroom is tacky. Either offer them as an amenity or don't put them out at all. Same with the "animal" socks. Hotel rooms aren't department stores. Coffee in the lobby was excellent. It would be nice if you could add a small selection of rolls or muffins to complement the coffee. And it would be great if the coffee service was offered until noon or even later. Asked for and received a quiet room. However, the trade off was a room overlooking a service roof/steakhouse sign, with no view of the beautiful city of Chicago. I would imagine a quiet room can be had without sacrificing a city view. Don't double glazed windows block out noise? The room was dark because of the lack of natural light and somewhat depressing. Prior to my visit I joined the Kimpton club, but the front desk had no record of my membership. Membership is supposed to offer a number of benefits, including preferred newspaper delivered to the room, but I only received the requested ny Times one day out of the three I stayed at the hotel. Pad and pen (I took them with me when I went out) were not replaced during my stay
Very comfortable, nice different decoration, excellent service, personnel, complimentary wine between 5-6pm. Few blocks from Billy Eliot's musical (must see!). Great restaurant close by, Catch 35! Nice walk to Mgnif. Mile. Allow 1 hour to airport due to traffic. nothing
Excellent location, clean comfortable room, polite helpful staff, free wine & snack every evening.... Nothing
Location was central to everything and the staff was very helpful. Toilet paper was really poor quality. Minor problem with the bill that was quickly settled.
This is a very nice and comfortable hotel. Rooms are nicely decorated and the bed was excellent. Also free WiFi. I will definitely book this hotel again on one of my business trips to Chicago.
Everything..great fluffy pancakes at breakfast I love this hotel. For some reason when I checked in they thought I had requested an adjoining room (I did not)and did not have me scheduled for a room with 2 beds that I had reserved. However they did some juggling and gave me the type of room I had requested.
Great, attentive staff. Terrific location by the river. Comfortable bed. Lobby Door staff was extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. Expensive for what you get. Room a/c is on energy saving computer load management, so it can take ten minutes to respond. River view 7th floor deluxe king Room had one uncomfortable arm chair, and a tiny sliver of a window that allowed one to see the bridge over the river, but, no water or boats. Exercise room was a joke, just A universal and dumbells. Free morning coffee a plus, but offset with tiny cups and mediocre coffee blend. Free evening wine was nice, but unlike far less expensive embassy suites, no snacks offered.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Large and comfy rooms. Beautifully designed entry way. Wine hour at 5pm was great. Close to shopping, restaurants and museums. Ended up with a room that had absolutely no view. Room cleaning could have been better, but nothing gross. Those two things made the $190 plus tax per night room a little too expensive.
Great location and a very good hotel overall No tea or coffee facilities in the room.
We enjoyed the wine reception and the taste breakfast in the adjecent restaurant. The hotel is located right in the heart of Chicago and pleasantlly quiet. The hotel does not provide slipers.
Large room; very clean; excellent location Lack of countertop space in bathroom
Very caring/warm/genuine staff. Outstanding view of park from room. Great breakfast in room and "rainfall" showerheads were very relaxing. A bit away from the shopping but they have a Bentley to help with transport. Could not secure a late check-out but hotel was fully booked so this was understandable.
Great service and attention to detail. Very guest oriented and helpful. $50 for overnight parking.
A beautiful hotel in an excellent location. The best service I have ever experienced in a hotel. The room was large and beautiful. Excellent beds - I slept really well. Overall a great experience!
Breakfast no flexibility, no helpful staff
large suite good for family Location far from restaurants, other popular spots. Shower drain did not work and overflowed requiring multiple staff visits. Long waits for elevators. Room adjacent to elevator. Not generally up to character of other Fairmont hotels.
The fancy coffe pot in the room. Just simply give me a Mr. Coffe machine that is a no brainer. We also stayed in the room when we had to switch the clocks back. No way, no how could we figure out how to move the time back one hour. Stupid things, but iratating.
I usually love the Hard Rock with its funky style and fun atmosphere, but this time the room was small and awkward poor lighting and not well appointed. I am used to the minimalist approach but this wasn't even a fun or modern feel - seemed just more drab. The staff was great just the rooms seem so much more run down and drab than the other hotel we used during our Chicago trip.
location is great My wake up call never came. I was late for an appointment
Location was good Rooms were small, holes in the walls and dinged mirrors. Humid rooms and beds were not the softest.
We were on the 23rd floor right next to the stairwell, and I have no idea where the noise came from, but all day and all night there was a loud knocking/banging noise, followed by a revving noise that would come from a machine, that continued nonstop. We were not near the elevators, so we ruled that out. It was impossible to sleep, even with the tv on and my white noise sleep app. Ridiculous. I don't know if the rooms booked on kayak are the crappy, noisy rooms because of the good price, but I will not be staying at the Hard Rock again.
Staff was helpful. facilities were clean Floor wasnt finished week. Tiles in bathroom were not fully set.
It has a great location for downtown shopping and dinning Despite the fact I paid extra for the larger more luxurious room it was very small and came with no perks such as included parking. Parking was twice as much as the near by overnight lots in the area. The towels, sheets ect were very stiff and ruff with no robes in room. The staff seemed clueless on several amenities the hotel offered including an app for the tv that allowed you to order movies and control settings the same as a remote and thank goodness because the actual remote in the room did not work. Also there were added charges to the bill that had to be disputed at checkout all were resolved but it added frustration onto an already Less than pleasant experience. We will not be staying there again.
The geographic location was the best !! A little no frills.
Location is great Slow elevators asked for a room on the upper level with a View, received a room on the fourth floor facing an AC unit. Not cool HRH
It was very pleasant get there early and having a room to do an early check in. The staff was excellent. Overall it was a good hotel. The location of it was very impressive, close to every place, Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and Navy Pier. I think it's a little pricey, but given the location I think it's worth it.
Location and decor The bar
Location was central to all the attractions. Cleanliness of the shower.
Very convenient location right on Michigan Ave. You won't run out of places to eat or stores to shop. I'm a music enthusiast and the memorabilia on the walls is a nice touch. Also a guitarist and the ability to have your own guitar brought to your room to play was pretty sweet. A Jamaican style bar club along with a nice steak/bar restaurant are in it (Although a little pricey) Been to many hotels due to my line of work. Although the ambience is nice Its not much more then anything you'd find at a Holiday Inn or Hampton. Seems a bit on the older side. Don't know about the more expensive rooms. But ours did not come with a fridge or microwave ( you can purchase them)
Parking cost of 69$ a night!
Beautiful clean hotel! Very welcoming and gracious staff. Very comfortable beds.
Great customer service! The staff was very helpful and informative. The Manager spent about 20 minutes with us outlining key points on a map he provided of places to go and things to see as well as the walking distance from the hotel. The whole staff was very friendly. The ambiance of the hotel decor & design was outstanding, not to mention the perfect view from our room. The location is superb & right in the center of Chicago's nightlife. The only thing that I didn't like about the place is that they shut down the pool area earlier than most hotels. But overall would rate this hotel a perfect 10. Great experience and would definitely recommend!
Location Rate Small room and bathroom Hotel could have been cleaner. Room temperature hard to regulate Very dated
The hotel was very clean, staff went out of their way to accommodate my needs, very centrally located and convenient. Got a great deal on the price too! Outside of their control, the pipes froze around 10pm and there was no heat. I requested an extra blanket but it never arrived at least not by the time I fell asleep.
The rooms are nice size, it's in a great location, the fitness center is nice and the bar is popular. The rooms have an eclectic look. The beds are comfortable and the hotel is quiet. The staff was attentive and curtious. The price was very good for the location. We ordered food at the bar and they checked on it twice but it never came. Everything else was great
Everything about our stay was fantastic. The room was ready when we arrived and they upgraded us on the house which was very nice. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. The staff was wonderful they were so nice and friendly that made our stay that much better. I will definitely be stay there next time I visit Chicago.
Pleasant people. Fast elevator. No cover for the House of Blues. $69/night parking.
Location is perfect you can literally walk to 5 STAR restaurants and catching a cab or uber no problem. The staff was great, my room was a little small with no view and when I asked to switch rooms they gave me a much bigger room with water/bridge view of the city on the 11th floor. The staff are very friendly and they made me feel at home. I'm from California and its always nice to feel welcome and greeted with a smile. The bathroom shower head is amazing you will want to stay as long as you can in the shower. The set up of the room is beautiful and modern. The view and large space in room is amazing, but the walls are thin and I can hear the elevator going up and down day and night and people talking in the hallways. I'm really big with bathrooms and I didn't like how the bathroom floor felt on my feet.
Overall hotel is good...good location, nice athmosphere, etc Bugs in the bed! ... Woman hair in the bed! ... Air conditioner not working properly....
No available movies to watch in room.
Location in the heart of Chicago downtown. Lack of concern for the interests of customers. I was a Marriot Gold Elite member and after this recent stay I felt like I should quit the reward program for good.
We loved our stay at the doubletree, complimentary cookies and the front desk, the bed was lovely and the location is great, only few blocks from the magnificent mile. My husband woke up at night due to the outside street noise (cars&sirens) I personally did not hear it. I guess it depends how light of a sleeper someone is.
Seems there were some residents on my floor - sounded like families that did not have a home. They were noisy, loud, baby crying and unattended, See above.
location, price are great room was very comfortable, but not as clean as we would expect, in fact cleanliness was our only "ding".
This hotel has an amazing location being just a couple of blocks away from Michigan Ave and being on the lake side near Navy Pier. Having a WholeFoods kitty corner to the hotel was quite handy. The hotel staff was incredibly nice and attentive. They do an excellent job of keeping the place clean. We had such a wonderful time that we decided to stay an extra night. Not having a mini fridge in the room was a little inconvenient.
Clean, helpful staff, good location and overall value. I wouldn't say it's old, but some of the decor and appointments are outdated.
The pool Big yellow stain on carpet Bathroom light wouldn't stay on and flickered the whole time Wasn't able to get ready in bathroom and made showering very interesting to say the least We would have changed rooms but we were running late to my birthday plans Complained in the am and they said they could do nothing bc I didn't book they them directly. I was very upset how the manager handled the situation We spent $240 on a one night stay for my birthday and cookies were offered but with attitude
Parking is $55 per day
Went up to Chicago to catch a craft beer festival. The hotel was very accommodating, helping us take our many, many, manyou cases of beer and two tiny bags of luggage to our room. With the convenience of in and out parking and even providing plates when our pizza was delivered made our short stay amazing. Would definitely stay here again City garage parking is sooooooooo expensive!
Very convenient location, walking distance from the Magnificient Mile, the Wrigley Building, and Millenium Park. Many restaurants nearby, and bagel/coffee shop near the hotel lobby. Nice outdoor pool. No free internet in the room. Noise from repairs (drilling) in neighboring room(s) every morning (weekdays).
The wait time for an elevator was excessive at 9:30AM Sunday morning. I was on the 6th floor waiting to go down to the Lobby. 6 cars stopped, all full, over the span of 10 minutes. I finally got on a car that had an open spot, but was going up, and then rode it down - meanwhile the car stopped on 7 other floors. It seems to me a more "fair" algorithim could be employed to have an elevator car stop for someone on the 6th floor. If it weren't for the amount of luggage I had to carry, I would of course taken the stairs.
We couldn't get HHonors points at all because we booked through Kayak.
Stayed one night and paid $76.00 dollars to park
