This hotel is very centrally located to many Chicago sites and attractions. A cool building, staff and accommodations are all excellent. I recommend this hotel. We will be back. The age of the building means that while rich in character, the quirks of the room layout and small size could bother some people.
Nothing. Room was really small. Room was run down. Dirty. Overpriced. Staff was not helpful when they gave us the wrong room (one even yelled at us).
The hotel is conveniently located in the city The cost of the room was very high. I was willing to pay the price but, my expectations were set high for such a small non-view room.
Convenient location We were downgraded rooms and charged the same amount.
The location, cleanliness, reception service, coffee service, breakfast service, bar service with food, valet service, room service, housekeeping service and reservation service! The room size & configuration, room price did not include internet access and breakfast service! Hence, the value for money was missing in my opinion!
Bed was comfortable, room was very clean and nicely furnished. Missing some basic things like luggage rack. Hotel lobby desperately needs basic amenities like a chilled water dispenser (coffee is nice but it's hot outside!!!)
Lovely hotel for great price on Michigan Ave. It's close to everything cool in Chicago. Staff was friendly, and was helpful. When I forgot my toothbrush they were able to find one for us. The rooms were clean and well put together.
Location and staff ... Staff was really nice No in room coffee maker, small room, virtually no room to put your bathroom toiletries and just two tiny drawers for clothes. No vending machine anywhere. View of brick wall. A lot to give up for location. Would stay off Mag mile next time. Parking was crazy expensive. For the money we paid I expected more
Nothing except its location 1- Staff aren't friendly. 2- The furniture and the bed sheets are so dirty.
Location on Michigan Ave is perfect, price is good Really late check in (5pm), slow elevators, noisy hallways, outdated rooms, no free wifi
Raoul and the other breakfast servers were excellent The carpet in my room1504 seemed old and dirty
It was very loud; lots of LED lights that you had to creatively cover; and staff gives conflicting information about the no housekeeping $10 credit.
We had a great time.It was really comfortable and had the best ubication! We will recomend it! Front desk personel at night must improve!!
Every thing is good
The very comfortable bed. There was no counter top or shelf in the bathroom for storing personal items such as toothbrushes and travel bag of toiletries.
the size, cleanliness of rooms was a great value for price. did not like the fact that housekeeping knocks on your door at 8am if you did not put do not disturb sign up.
The front desk was so nice and helpful! I would definitely recommmend this hotel to friends and stay here again!
Convenience of location, quietness of location, beds, comforters and pillows quite comfortable, staff quick to respond Bathroom: design flaw allows shower water to immediately drain onto floor, which has no drain; sink counter won't hold soap; inadequate # towel racks.
The location for us worked but the bathrooms need more space for storing cosmetics, toothbrushes, The showers sprayed water all over the floor and is a bad design. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and would return if the price stays lower as others in the area. same above
should have free wi-fi
The location is fantastic. It is great for sightseeing and shopping. The room was comfortable and modern. The beds were comfortable. The staff on check-in were not very friendly. The room was not equipped with a coffeemaker and should have been. The elevators are small and no one offered to help us with taking our luggage to our room. We had asked for a baby crib to be placed in the room on our reservation special requests and when we checked in, we were told there was no crib in the hotel. However, the staff ensured that a crib was delivered to the room immediately.
location - rooms - Having to pay for wifi
Excellent location - a great place to stay for exploring the city of Chicago! Quick taxi ride in from O'Hare airport (approx $40), close to tour bus stops & many sights.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. From Sean at the front desk, to Tom the bellman, Andre and Stephen in the restaurant and Tom at the front door. The beds were beyond comfortable. I wanted to take my bed home with me. Good Location - 1 block off of Michigan Avenue and 1 block from the Lakeshore. My only complaint is the lighting in the bathroom. Putting make up on was difficult due to the lighting in the bathroom and the depth of the vanity. A lighted makeup mirror attached to the wall just in side the door would help with that.
We loved the newly remodeled room. It felt very clean. The bedding was soft and inviting. We did not like the overhead shower, however, it was not necessary that we use it because there was a hand-held shower head as well. But honestly, just a nice wall mounted shower head is best.
Rate and location. Nice bathroom fixtures and room furnishings Common areas are worn and tattered.. Looks tired and dirty Although I requested a non smoking room, my room smelled ,like smoke and needed to be deodorized
This was a beautiful hotel. Location was great...very safe neighborhood! The bed was so comfortable that I didn't want to get out of it. I would stay here again for sure.
The room was great, very clean and comfartable. The bathroom was especially great. Very nice However it was crazy to charge people $10 per night for slow internet access. I once stayed at a cheap motel that had internet access for all its guests. It is for that reason alone I would not return. Its almost insulting not to have free wifi in a four star hotel
Conveniently located. Charm and romantic setting!
Checkin and checkout were extremely easy. The restaurant served a wonderful breakfast, and the waitstaff were friendly and helpful.
Everything in the hotel was perfect! The location was excellent, the staff was very very friendly ( especially Birsen in the reception and Tom in the luggage), the cleaning ladies were doing a wonderful job. We enjoyed every singel minute in the hotel. The room was large and comfortable; very relaxing bed and no noise from outside or other rooms.
We chose the Thompson Hotel for its location and value on Kayak. If I was traveling alone on business it would have been a better choice. They are super accomaditing allowing us to check in at 11:00 am without any problems. They also have a great online precheck in service. There is a Starbucks next door and good restaurants all around it. The precheck in service is a great idea however, it is as if you actually request something like an extra blanket or extra towels which were questions on the precheck in system they do not fulfill them. The elevator system requires you to use your room key to get up to your floor however, there is only one reader per elevator and it was virtually impossible to get to it when using the elevator. So many people were talking about riding the elevator up and down trying to get to their floors. The showers were never hot just warm regardless of the time of day. The A/C was all over the the place, hot / cold. The room refresh was seriously below average and actually just a really bad bed make up with fresh towels. They basically missed at the attempt to be a chic boutique hotel. There is no real identity to this property.
The Thompson Hotel Staff were amazing, very friendly and accommodating. We were upgraded to a corner king suite as it was our wedding night so that was a pleasant surprise as well. Overall wonderful experience. Would definitely go back. Nothing!
We loved everything about it. From the very beginning (checkin) till the very last second before we left the hotel. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The Concierge made arrangements for a boat trip on the Chicago River. Housekeeping kept our room in perfect shape. We had a room on the 21st floor which had the perfect view towards the chicago skyline. It was awesome. I gladly recommend to visit the Thompson Chicago and will for sure also book on other occasions other Thompson hotels. Thank you for this very wonderful and perfect vacation, Thompson. nothing!
Nice Interior Design. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. This is a much better location than other hotels I have stayed at further south. We took a very nice walk north to Lincoln Park. It is a beautiful neighborhood and does not even feel like you are in the city. Too pricey for me to use other than business. I did not need or use "facilities" so that is the only reason I did not give that an "excellent" score. We were not impressed with the breakfast food. We were very pleased with our lunch at Gibson's across the street.
Fantastic location, outstanding room. Would go back in a minute.
The beautiful view of lake Michigan. Close proximity to great restaurants and shopping. Nico Osteria restaurant within the hotel was excellent. The room was beautifully decorated, very comfortable bed, reading light ( unexpected), and huge bathroom and shower. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. One of the late afternoons we needed to call for extra towels, since our room had not been cleaned, and we had been out all day. I do realize that this weekend was a home Bears foorball game and was very busy.
The bed and shower were amazing!
comfy bed, great location, nice lobby. Front desk lady was not very helpful. Toilet smelled like sewage. They called me from front desk to tell me someone was at my door from hotel personnel when I had privacy sign on...that woke me up...What kind of "privacy on" is this?
We had a great weekend staying at The Thompson! The location, staff and room were outstanding! We will definitely be staying here again!
Body hair on the bathroom sink. stains on toilet. Kind of gross for the price.
We go downtown every Christmas and this was the first time we stayed here. We loved it. Friendly staff, wonderful accommodation, and great location. We will certainly be back.
People are friendly Restaurant is very good Design is current Beds are comfortable air conditioning unit in room was loud
Nice front desk staff and security cool there it's a club inside Check in check out times You can hear everything in the hall not good Couldent use gym because of moving equipment Furniture wood and stuff getting old Saw noise complaints but there is a Club upstairs then walls
I liked the room and the view I drove from Milwaukee to Chicago for the overnight stay me and my fiancee for her birthday and we were hoping to attend the lounge on the rooftop and was denied due to a dresscode we knew nothing about i feel if i paid my money and staying at the hotel i should've been able to attend or at least tell your customers ahead of time about dresscode unfair and drove to Chicago for nothing completely disappointed
We checked into the hotel at about 8 in the evening the night befor, and the desk clerk at that time let us know if we needed a late check-out just let the front desk know.... In the morning around 1030am, we requested from a different desk clerk a later check out time of an hour ot so. The clerk at the desk was undeservedly rude to us in telling us no. There are many better ways to deliver a no to a paying guest.
Great valet peopl, n customer service .. tj was awesome help..
The location of this hotel is perfect. It's a few blocks away from the river, Michigan avenue, and the Lake. Our room was very chic. There are hardwood floors, a nice desk area, a large bathroom, and a balcony. The minibar and room service were appropriately priced. We also loved the doorman, TJ, he was always very friendly and had the best recommendations for places to go. Make sure to ask him if you need any assistance with activities or restaraunts. He was much better than the concierge inside the hotel. The only odd thing about the room is that the entire bathroom can be open to the bed. There is a curtain from the outside that only just covers it. The concierge at the hotel was also sub par. When I asked where to get sushi he suggested the hotel restaraunt and when I asked where to get bagels in the morning he suggested whole foods. I was unhappy with this service as a concierge because they should know the hot spots in the city.
The staff were so helpful and friendly. They took really good care of us. I would definitely stay here again.
The Hotel is amazing but while picking up my vehicle from the valet I noticed that it had been hit. The valet attempted to say that that was how the vehicle was when he got it. I was told by the head of security that it would be taken care of. As of a week later I have not heard from the hotel or the valet company
Great room. Great location.
Staff was very nice and accommodating. The rooms were great and comfortable.
Love the rooms and the views!
The hotel rooms were absolutely amazing
Thanks to front desk for giving us the room with balcony just as I thought we will get booking with third party
Small Room not clean
Great value...clean....excellent location for shopping Michigan avenue...staff helpful...no complaints!
The staff was nice, and hotel was pretty much what I expected except as noted: Elevators were a little weird and didn't work as expected Room was deceptively *tiny*
I did not like anything about this hotel. It's in downtown Chicago and it has carpet like a motel. Does not make you feel comfortable at all. The tv sucks the picture even worse. The worst hotel I've been too! Too expensive for a motel like setting. First and last time ever at this hotel. -10
Quick check in process. Cute as can be room.
I came to stay at Hotel Felix for NYE in Chicago. The location was excellent and I never had to walk more than 15 minutes to get to anything. Just a few blocks from Michigan Ave and tons of restaurants. But, the rooms were dirty and our floor smelled horrible. I'm certain our sheets were never washed due to all of the mystery hairs I found in the sheets. We also had a mix up when we checked in. Instead of putting us in a queen room, like we reserved 4 months prior, we were placed in room with 2 full beds. When we asked to be moved to our appropriate room so were placed in a tiny room. If you don't mind sacrificing space and cleanliness for location this hotel is fine. But if you are expecting a luxurious night in the city don't waste your time.
Very small rooms.
It looks very chic walking in. The staff was all young and super friendly. The air smelled like it was diffused with something. There was a small bar and restaurant attached, which was convenient. Room was small but clean and nice. Staff suggested a boat tour and also booked it for us AND printed off directions, which was really helpful. The room was very small.. I kept hitting my shins on the edge of the bed. My friend and I stayed there together so it made for a pretty tight space but we didn't spend a ton of time in there so it was fine. Also, no breakfast, just free coffee. We ordered towels at one point and no one ever showed up.
The hotel is quirky, clean and comfortable. Compact rooms for people looking for a comfortable place to sleep but don't need all the bells and whistles. Everything was clean. The girl at the front desk checking in was mumbly and hard to hear. Waited 5+ minutes for a valet attendant to show up (we were the only people there at the moment). Then we were taken up to an uncleaned room. Storing our bags in luggage after we checked out was a similar struggle finding an attendant that was supposed to be there. Fortunately there was one of the staff members who continually helped resolve the issues all weekend long. He was very professional and willing to do any job with patience and a smile. Please hire more staff like him!
Great location, friendly staff, reasonable price Room smelled like smoke
The hotel is very modern and attractive. And it is in a good location. The bell staff is very friendly Extremely small rooms. Small bathroom with shower only whichhas a curtain not glass Detracts from look. There are no bedside lamps ! Too bad for readers.bartender is sweet, not really does not know how to make a drink-not all that familiar with different types of drinks, bar not set up didn't have cherries, fruit.
Almost everything was absolutely wonderful except... Cleaning staff did not fully replace my used towels and cups. Also, the location made it difficult to easily hail a taxi.
Room was clean. No recreational stuff no pool no sauna nothing it was boring.
Location and old world elegance Several elevators broken, tea room not kept up-my chair had a big hole in it. Chairs looked dilapidated, carpet worn, menu insert pages barely legible (bad photo copies). Most pages had faded writing in 3 of the four menus. Also-3 menus did not include alcoholic beverages
Whinin walking distance to downtown shopping and attractions and great restaurants, walked to Chicsgo Art Institute to take in Van Gough exhibit. Parking too expensive
The Drake is a Chicago classic. A bit old, but very luxuries and very, very beautiful. The excellent location and nice staff delivering outstanding service make the Drake the place to be. A bit dated, and almost impossible to roll your own luggage. Unlike most hotels with marble floors, The Drake has the thickest carpet imaginable. Also, the rooms are small for the US (and the money) and you will pay a lot for a view. However, this is the oldest and most desirable location that The Drake sets the standards for all of the other Chicago luxury hotels.
location 65.00 a day to park car didn't know where to go for breakfast?? not alot of water pressure for shower
Staff were tremendous Hotel needs updating. It is old, worn and dirty
not much Room was 'nasty' for a 4 star hotel. -broken soap dish on the floor -faucet handle was not fastened and fell. -really dirty carpet -old building. poorly renovated. bad paint job in the hallways.
We loved the location and the welcoming and helpful staff. The atmosphere is elegant. For a small extra cost, we opted for the Executive Room with access throughout the day for a light breakfast, snacks during the day, and hors doerves during cocktail hour. It's view is spectacular and all but the tables which are too small, we enjoyed immensely and visited often during our stay. WiFi in your room is an extra cost and not included in the price of your room.
Great location and afternoon tea was amazing.
Location/spa and swimming pool None
Great restaurant recommendation and service!
Very good welcome and staff performance An elevator alarm went off in the middle of the night and it took over one hour to fix it - not conducive to comfortable sleep.
Hotel has great location, very nice accomodations. There was broken glass in the bar and I cut my finger pretty badly on our first night at the hotel. Although hotel staff was very nice and they did call security, I thought they could have done more in way of compensation. In hindsight, I probably needed stitches and other than call to my room by the manager (who had already left by the time we got back to the room), they really didn't even follow-up.
when I make check out from the hotel they told me i have to pay more than what booking website show me,after desscution they agree to refund 110 $ to me.
Very good location.
The bed is gorgeusly confortable Many problems with shower, room cleaning, front desk attendece, etc.
They had absolutely no trace of our reservation on arrival, but after some spirited discussion more than made good the upheaval.
Location! And they left a small treat for my child every afternoon.
Comfortable, elegant, convenient excellent accomodations. Food very good but somewhat overpriced. The hotel tower is very tall and our initial room on the 40th floor was very noisy in the wind and rain storm. The swaying was not noticable but the sound of creaking wall and ductwork was uncomfatably loud. The staff did move us to a lower floor to a large apartment suit which was very quiet.
clean, comfortable,good service.
The facilities are good. The location is excellent. The parking is outrageous. $66/day but I think that's Chicago. One of the hotel staff was a bit rude, but the others more than made up for his behavior.
Charles Nancy was very rude and put out by helping me. Also, our keys did not work twice and the cost of the room service is quite ridiculous....$7.00 for dry cereal, plus 18% gratuity pluse $2.50 delivery?! Maybe if the staff was friendly and the service was better, but no way would I ever pay that for a bowl of corn flakes.
Toilet flush was EXTREMELY loud. And we could hear the toilets from other rooms as well.
Spacious, very well equiped suites with fridges, microwaves and two TV's - very handy when the World Cup clashes with Wimbledon. All furnishings and fabrics in rooms are of the highest quality. Almost all the staff were very friendly, extremely polite and most helpful. Great location for the Chicago tourist. Swimming Pool needs a refurb, now looking dated and tired. Air-con in gym and workout rooms not working therefore uncomfortably hot. Internet connections in Rooms too slow and no weekly rate for using the facility.
We arrived and there was no parking available and the hot water didn't seem to get any warmer than room temperature.
When I had a problem with the professionality of one of the staff members, the General Manager took action fast and worked a satisfying solution to the problem. The only thing I didn't care for about this Hotel is that it did not offer a shuttle to the airport or my convention.
Liked everything about it! Amazing location, nice facilities, and friendly staff.
Clean and comfortable, loved the location, safety, suite was roomy for our two or could accomodate three easily.
Basic Internet was kind of hit or miss on access and performance
Beautiful views from the pool & workout areas. Room was very comfortable. Nice location. No jacuzzi. The sauna was nailed shut.
Very nice Hotel with a great staff. Valet service was good, bell service was good, front desk service was great. Restuarant was average, parking was expensive.
My husband and I loved this hotel. We have stayed in several hotels on or near Michigan Ave and this was the best. The hotel is beautiful and is in the perfect location for us. A short walk to the subway, excellent restaurants along Rush Street and of course fabulous shopping. I will definitely stay here again even though it's a little more than I usually like to pay.
the room was wonderful - the bed and linens were superior
Clean room, good location, good food Difficulty of reaching the concierge by phone and having to listen to recorded advertising of the hotel while waiting
loved the architecture, nice view, price was great, good bar, convenient to lots of things in Chicago, usual helpful Sofitel staff . . .
Swanky and chic hotel located in the heart of Chicago only steps away from shopping, great restaurants and all that the city has to offer. It's upscale, hip and a great value -- with a very comfortable bed to boot! What more could you want?
Fantastic location, close to the Magnificent Mile and Water Tower. The building is strikingly modern.
Situated in a good area very convinient for shopping and buisness. I was not allowed a late check out as my flight was late evening.
Sofitel is my new favorite Hotel.
Staff was excellent, they shipped me something that I left in the room immediately. Very clean, they even put a birthday surprise for my husband in room upon arrival. When you enter the main lobby there is no rest room, you have to take elevator to the 2nd floor. After traveling so long one needs to use the facility fast. Also parking fees a bit high per day, the hotel I stay at offers free parking to its guests
Very few amenites for what you pay. Service was slow at best. Concierce desk was helpful. Very good at housekeeping, but not worth the money you pay.
This hotel is not what i expected...horrible valet service had to wait forever...i told them not to charge my card for the 67 dollars of parking everyday i was paying them cash and when i checked out they charged me again for the parking because they didnt have records that i was paying cash! Will never go back... Staff is super rude!
It may seem a bit expensive but the service is effective and prompt. They have in and out privileges and are quick to help There is no free WiFi but I have my own mobile plan.
Front desk staff Location Kind to offer large check out Weak wifi Outrageous daily parking fee
Cookies in the lobby and friendly staff. Not very many amenities. Bathroom door didn't close all the way. Room didn't cool down enough.
Hospitality, service, beds, bar
Loved the Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Shower!
The hotel has decent accommodations and lives up to the name. The rooms are nice, the beds are comfortable, & the bathrooms are clean. (don't park there!!!!) PARKING PRICES, WTF!? Buying anything (aside from the room itself) from the Westin is out of the question/budget.
Great dining options available and close by to lots of shopping outlets. It would be wonderful if I could have a city view instead of facing another building since Chicago is such a nice city. Not close to any subways.
Shopping and sightseeing were close by. I spilled coffee on my robe on the first morning and it wasn't replaced in the 6 days I stayed there. I don't think he says we're changed during those 6 days either. Otherwise the staff was really nice and the room very comfortable.
Great valet service. Small rooms
We loved how friendly the staff was. William went above and beyond for us! For the price, it would have been nice to have even a basic breakfast included.
Comfortable beds A little pricey and some attn to detail needed for rooms falling apart. (Cracks in ceilings etc)
-Perfect Location: We walked EVERYWHERE and the Whitehall was always a great starting point and place to come back to for a moment of rest. -Friendly Staff -Good value: We spent very little time in the room, so it served it's purpose. -Steps away from the John Hancock Building and Michigan Ave. -Carpet was a little grungy. -Bed wasn't super comfy, but I still slept well. Overall, a good value for the money. Would stay here again because it was such a great location and the staff was very friendly.
Location One elevator. ... Waited forever and it was full when it came!
Likes the character and location. Beds were comfortable and space was good. Tv was huge and state of the art. Bathroom was small and outdated.
Hotel was clean, friendly staff For an advertised 2nd best bed in hotels...the bed was TERRIBLE.
Perfectly situated for seeing the sights, enjoying the music scene, shopping, and exploring the beaches. The gym only had one treadmill. The 2nd was broken. But we had so much fun doing other things that we never hit the gym.
Friendly and courteous staff The vent was blowing air at my face every time the hvac kicked in while I was trying to sleep.
Super comfy bed, awesome location. Hotel is steps from the magnificent mile and a short walk to the lake. Small lobby and elevators, room was in need of some small wear and tear repairs.
The location was right on the money, with some of the sights of downtown just a few minutes away. The price was also very good. Our room did not have a fridge for us to put leftovers into or a microwave to heat them in. Also, the window coverings needed a good update and looked old and grungy.
Location was amazing!! Super close to shopping and pretty much everything! Cute antique ish feel to it. Nice and clean, staff super nice and helpful!
The only thing going for the hotel is location and price. The rooms were small and dark. The bathroom had the most perplexing layout and the hot water took a full 5 minutes to get hot for a shower. It wasn't as clean as I like a hotel to be (hair from previous guests on the shower wall. Gross).
Good price for the weekend, nice view of the Hancock, neat they have options for food and drinks downstairs. We got to the Whitehall around 6:30PM on Friday night, to find one of the automatic doors to enter was not working correctly. Next up: one of the elevators (of only 2 tiny elevators) was broken down. Everything had a luster of the past, but needed updating, cleaning, replacing, etc. In our room, the carpet was stained and one of our sheets had a hole in it. To add insult to injury, of the 2 phones in the bedroom, one didn't work at all, and the other only worked if you pressed 0. (ie, none of the corresponding keys to concierge etc worked). The shower faucet where you adjust the temperature was also broken - as it was loose and hard to finagle into getting a temperature that didn't scald or freeze you. And maybe the worst of all? We had gone out for brunch on Saturday, and come back, said we didn't want to be disturbed, but then, while we were napping, someone CAME INTO OUR ROOM without knocking to check our minibar!!! What?! Who does this!?!? This hotel is 2 star-worthy, not 4. They need to SERIOUSLY up their game or deal with reality. Also - we were charged for 2 items (a granola bar and candy bar) that we didn't even take. The lady said "sometimes touching something in the minibar triggers these prices). I said "that would make sense if either thing were even *in* the minibar!" So, there you go. That's the truth of the place. Judge for yourself.
Really enjoyed how friendly everyone was towards us especially since we were a young couple there and the staff told us good morning and everything each day and always had a smile on their face I can't really say I didn't like anything about the hotel or service. The only thing was it was a little expensive for us. Other than that everything was excellent
Beautiful room. Inpecable service
Great location across from Saks and neiman marcus. Hotel gorgeous, bright, elegant in public areas, very comfortable and luxurious room and bathroom
I would guess that most people who gave this place a positive review have never stayed at trump. For the same price trump offers a vastly better experience and much more comfort. The gym and spa at trump make this place look like a spa from rural Cambodia. Rooms were an ever so slightly better version of the Conrad. No pillow menu. No glacier water. No espresso machine in room. No microwave or stovetop with dishwasher( all present at trump). And no cake with gold leaf on it for my birthday!!!
EVERYTHING, THE SERVICE WAS THE BEST AND THE BATHROOMS LARGE AND BEAUTIFULLY DONE. NICE TOUCHES EVERYWHERE! NOTHING
I've stayed at several nice hotels in Chicago and this is by far my favorite. Very comfortable, tastefully decorated, incredible A-V/home automation controls. This was the perfect home-base for a multi-day business trip. The atrium also had a splendid Sunday brunch with string quartet. Couldn't be better
Hotel was great, good price and great location. I ordered/paid for a double room in advance. Showed up to the hotel and they put us in a single. After disputing at the front desk the hotel said we did not order a double. I showed them the print out showing what I ordered and they said the order they received (I assume from Kayak) did not state that we paid for a double. We were lucky that they had a double available and they honored my documentation. Close call.
Staff, location, breakfast Having to go up the stairs with my luggage to get checked in, helpful staff was there, but was very busy with other guests and I was cold, tired, and it was late.
I thought the hotel was great, very friendly staff and rooms were clean. I needed to be close to the Water Tower area for my conference and it was the closest in my price range. I would definitely stay again. You can hear everything out in the hall way, but honestly it's not a super big deal.
Bed was comfortable Everything was good
Price No frills experience and bedroom without a desk.
Staff here was incredibly friendly and always willing to help out with anything I needed! Free wifi and continental breakfast. Decent workout facility! You can't get all of that anywhere else for this price in this neighborhood!!! Rooms are small, but go out in the city and stop sitting in your hotel room.
There was friendly staff and it is very close to some great food and shopping. Our room smelled like smoke and during the night of you turned up the fan it smelled a lot stronger, almost as if the last person had smoked a lot. Also we had a very small room. I get that we booked through a travel website and not straight from the hotel so somewhat smaller rooms are expected, but this room was tiny, especially for what we paid.
Friendly staff, clean room, excellent hot breakfast. Worth the money. Centrally located.
It was an elegant, comfortable weekend at one of the best hotels anywhere. Nothing
I liked the location of the hotel, and also enjoyed the updated decor of the hotel. The bedding was excellent! Very important to me.... it was clean and luxurious. The bath rooms also were in excellent condition. It did meet my standards. (Extremely picky) I did not like that we had to go to the 12th floor to get to reception.
Fabulous service, fabulous food, fabulous room. I can't recommed this hotel highly enough!!
I took my 5 year old to see Chicago. I love the quiet of the hotel. The staff was great. You get what you pay for.
Beautiful hotel, very enjoyable. Neither Booking com nor the hotel warned us that a change in the reservation, leaving a night earlier, would result in an increase in the quoted daily rate. We were only told that cancellation was required 24 hours in advance without penalty.
