The Hotel staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and very very helpful. They always remember me from my previous stay. The disabled facilties are not upto dda standards. The ramp to the reception is unsafe, too steep and not legal!! You must get the electric wheelchair lift repaired and make sure that it can operated by the wheelchair user from the pavement. either that place a bell outside so that the attention of the reception staff can be alerted. I would recommend this hotel to able bodied persons, but not to wheelchair users.
Service was outstanding. They provided extra towels and outlet adapter when asked. Rooms are spacious and clean. Great place to use for our home base for our anniversary getaway to London. Centrally located downtown. Close to the tube. Full English breakfast was included in our reservation but I was informed that not every reservation qualified for the "full" breakfast and instead they received a continental breakfast. Limited menu in hotel restaurant.
room was quite spacious and location quite central food was not very good byt fair for England
Pool Paper thin walls, constant slamming of doors in the hallway!
The location of the hotel - central, being within walking distance of Knightsbridge tube station, yet quiet enough to get an undisturbed nights sleep! Vey clean hotel, providing a very good breakfast.
This was a very charming hotel. The location was wonderful - only a few blocks from an Underground station and Hyde Park. The staff was great - very helpful and friendly. The concierge helped with getting tickets to museums and other attractions as well as trains, which saved a great deal of time not waiting in long lines. We took advantage of the breakfast service. The food was good with lots of options. The waitstaff was very attentive. We did not have to wait long for assistance. The maid staff was fine as well and also very friendly. On several occasions, we had to call the front desk to request additional towels and they arrived within minutes. The Rembrandt is an older hotel with some of the issues associated with that. For example, the "switch" that controlled power to the room would "break" if the bathroom door was closed to hard in our room or a neighboring room. This could be easily fixed by tapping on the control panel. The room had a small table and desk, so there was no room for a wardrobe. It was a little difficult living out of a suitcase for two weeks. It would have been smarter to remove the desk and substitute some drawers for clothing.
its central position to Kingsbridge and shopping Water in bath and shower not hot enough at any time
The Rembrandt is in a great location not far from the many sights of London. We had a wonderful room with a balcony and a spa bath! It was excelent.
Our room was on the small side.
The very good location of the hotel and helpful staff, also good heating. The toilet in the bathroom didn't work too well and no extractor for the steam in bathroom.
Very friendly, helpful staff, comfortable room, well positioned for C London.
Well designed room; very complete; lots of nice touches. Heated towel rack; jacuzzie tub; upscale furnishings; even has a couple of 110/115 outlets. Location cannot be beat; just down from Harrods and up from South Kensington Underground station two stops away from Victoria Station and 4 stops away from Westminster Station. The BigBus "hop on hop off" number 36 is just out front and the narrated tour the bus provides last right at 3.5 hours with city traffic and goes to every single place of interest. Tour bus pricing varies based on package deal but around $30 per person. The staff of the hotel always exceeds expectation; Neal, the head concierge; is full of insights for the area; found us a large private van to Heathrow for $65. We had 4 big bags from a twoo week Cruise, so the large Mercedes was excellent. The hotel and its ammenities are moderately pricied if not leaning a little toward expensive, as in breakfast; but in tota,l worth the money especially if on vacation. A superior experience; will stay here again when visiting London for sure.
co-operation of staff increasement of room rate within the same week
The location - it's literally across the metro station of Gloucester Road The bathroom acessories were poor for a 4 star, the furnishings need to be refreshed as they are a bit sad.
location bathroom needed some updating lampshade was broken
Very conveniently located with nice facilities. In this day and age, no hotel guest should have to pay for internet access.
Very helpful staff. For that rate, the rooms we were given were very small and did not have a proper heating system. The room was very cold.
Well situated near restaurants, shops & tube stations.
It is a good honest hotel with a great location
Location very convenient for underground, airport and services
I will not book a room in this hotel again because, having paid 200 pounds per night: - It took me half an hour to have a mediocre shower since the fresh water hardly run through the pipes (despite the washroom being recently refurbished). - The room was very noisy (street cars and doors slapping all night). - The complimentary breakfast (I paid for) was ridiculous. No salty/warm food, only some fresh fruit (which was good) and industrial pastries (along with the standard drinks, of course). R. Arranz (14/11/14)
The hotel was conveniently located in South Kensington close to the Gloucester Road tube station. The neighbourhood was fairly quiet and offered some good options for dining.
They had smoking rooms available, they respected my comment for a room above the 20th floor, they had a fridge. It was 2 minutes walking distance from the tube station. They gave us a corner room on the 23rd room, hiding the view :-(
it was close to the underground station & within walking distance of the museums.
Very clean hotel, very nice location
Location was very convenient for the event"Art London" I was attending. It is a good hotel. The only issue I had was with the lifts which would not reconise my room card when I arrived and I had to wait almost 10 mins for a lft to the ground floor from the 3rd floor!
Its a good hotel in an excellent location but pricey - you are paying for the location and it is a safe area close to tourist attractions. Only the cost
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and nice. It was so cold outside despite it was only September, so I would have appriciated if there was a heating in the room.
The hotel is a fantastic location. Great value for the area. A very nice Holiday Inn, nothing fancy but good, clean and safe. I would highly recommend, the only reason I did not give it Excellent for everything is I would reserve that for a truly 5 star hotel or luxury boutique hotel. This was neither, but served our needs and met all of my expectations.
The location is excellent near all sort of transportation & all touristic atraction, staff are very helpfull rooms are clean, not a bad view
Friendly staff, good location for public transp. And neraby Museums Fitness room not available for young people (14)
I stayed only for one night to be closer to my departure the next day, but after having stayed at airbnb apartments, staying at the Holiday Inn was a fresh experience!! Clean, comfortable and a good value Liked everything! Perhaps only that the noise from the next room was a bit loud but that didnt last.
The rooms was very small and rather on the cheap side for this grade of hotel.
The spaciousness of the lobby. Not stuffy! The problem was they had no booking from us,checked everything! They solved it and gave us a room for the price agreed.
- turndown service - chocolates on pillows - let me check-in early - helped me secure a taxi for wherever I was going - friendly attentive staff
This hotel is so beautiful, amalgam of charming English style with some bold fashion details Hotel rooms are gorgeous, all are renovated, free WiFi, complimentary coffee and tea in the room, good size closet and 24 h room service! Location is tremendous few minutes walk to a shopping area including Harrods mall, there are many restaurants and cafes near by as well, from fancy 5 star French to little local bars, all are great! If you are about explore the city, right on the corner from the hotel there are few museums, Hyde Park and Kensington palace! Safe, clean neighborhood, 3min walk to the South Ken Tube Station, just perfect! I am very happy with the hotel, staff is so friendly and very helpful
The location for sightseeing, the facilities and the staff of the hotel were excellent. The costs to stay were also very reasonable. I reccomend this hotel to stay.
very nice design hotel, comfy lobby & rooms showergel / shampoo weren't filled up after user
clean room, facilities good, breakfast v.good if little expensive .service quick efficient good location room small bit cramped
Great location, staff was excellent. A bit old, but so is most of London, - minor compared to the benefits, it was in good condition given how old building was.
very nice hotel in a great area. the reception staff is fantastic a bit less the service employees. all in all good place
V nice hotel, attentive staff. Room too small, had to ask several times to have safe fixed, extra blanket provided and light bulb replaced. Reception desk not v well- manned (often empty).
Loved the location, the staff, the overall comfort of the hotel. It was perfect. Highly recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to be in the south kensington area.
Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and accomodated an early check in.Especially like to mention Andrea Doyle who showed a great deal of empathy and was agreat ambassador for the hotel. Room was small, you could hardly get past the bed, staircase still not finished which detracted from otherwise luxurious feel to the hotel. Not sure you could desribe it as a superior double !
Ultra quiet room. Good bar. Good location Used Kayak to request an early check-in (1 hr) to make a confidential business call. Automessage from hotel "could not commit" to this. Arrived 90 mins early to plead my case, but didn't get access till 10 mins prior to 3pm check-in. In other words, they placed zero priority on this simple ask despite having 4 hrs between departure and check-in. Also requested a room with a desk and accessible outlets, but got a room with no desk at all - and only accessible outlets were under the television, across the room at the head of the bed. Lighting in room was terrible. Very slow service in the restaurant
Closeness to tube station No
Location was perfect, just a short tube ride to everything. Lots of nice cafes & pubs near by. The Lifts, there were 3 but only one working, so it was waiting forever for a full lift and wait until they piled out before it came back down empty again.
Location in Gloucester Road and the Station was excellent.Ammbience of the hotel and the hotel staff was very good Olives Restaurant. We were delayed for an evening meal and we had to walk out before eating to go to the theatre
The hotel had character and was not like a chain hotel. The location was within walking distance of a lot of things to do in the city but it wasn't in the middle of all the action. I found the hot water in the bathroom to be unpredictable and often ran cold unexpectedly.
The location was ideal for my purpose. The room was very small indeed. The lounge/bar area was poortly lit and extremely noisy with either canned music or even louder live music. Breakfast is not included in the pricec and was very expensive. It's better to buy a sandwich at the supermarket across the road.
Very convenient for Underground and taxis and walking to Knightsbridge and the Royal Albert Hall. Restaurant was good and comfortable at lunchtime. Breakfast was disorganised and over-crowded, as well as overpriced. I would recommend taking breakfast in one of the neighbouring cafes.
We liked everything. The room and bathroom were lovely (we had a club room), well furnished, spacious, comfortable and elegant. No
atmoshpere, position, The only fault shower was abismal in room 535, severe lack of water pressure
Location and fair sized room with good bathroom. Considering the substantive room rate it is annoying that you have to pay 8£/hr for internet
Internet Connetions was very bad !
Incredibly small room. Also smely.
Bimal was incredibly helpful. The rooms were VERY small. We switched from a postage stamp sized room to one with another 10 square feet. The cleaning staff talked loudly on their cell phones as they went from room to room.
convenient location intial room I was allocated was tiny, but they were happy to move me when I complained
breakfast! also peace & quiet and proximity to Tube and other amenities sulphurous smell from bathroom, not from my use of the facilities but even coming into the room after a day out
Staff were friendly and attentive, bar food was excellent quality and value for money, room was high standard Very warm
breackfast and it's service is excelleny bell captain arranged taxi, seems to be an unlicenced taxi. they don't have a meter and want to hard sell
Everything was great, from the room, the location and the staff. I have never experience a more friendly or helpful staff. They were definitely there to make sure we were happy and comfortable, and they did a wonderful job! Nothing
The Radisson Edwardian Vanderbilt breakfast was very very good indeed. Great choice, perfectly cooked and great service No Cold Water in the rooms.
Location ! Street noise
location was good and room/staff were good room was a bit small but only what one has to expect with a central london hotel in this style
Location Lift works badly
Very clean. Friendly staff, quiet room. Single room was small, and did not have a dresser, only a closet. The bed was kind of hard.
central location The room was basically clean, however the mattresses were brown with age and looked disgusting
Very convenient location. Good facilities. I always stay here when I'm in London On this stay the air conditioning was not working. It was very hot in the room because it was summer. The hotel did provide fans but it was not ideal.
The tube stop was close.Concierge was very helpful. We requested a non smoking room and that was not honored.Stayed on the top floor , and found it extremely hot.
the location of hotel is very good. underground metro in front, supermarket and restaurants are nearby. The hotel is very clean and good decorated
The hotel was clean and comfortable and overall a nice environment. Close to the tube station! The concierges were not that knowledgeable or helpful. They were unaware of local shows and used a basic service to get play tickets that I could have probably bought online just as easily. Also when we asked them later for a delivery, they searched and said they had none, we had to come back and ask again...they found it and said 'Oh, we thought you meant a package delivery, not ticket delivery'. Real air conditioning instead of a swamp cooler would have been nice.
The room was really good but the A/C was not working and it was really hot They did not say that the cooling system in the hotel was not working when we checked in
Staff helpful, good location Rooms are very small
Location Narrow bath.
Very close to Tube station...easy access to all the main sights. Very clean rooms and public areas. Excellent Concierge!! Super breakfast. Only one (of 2) lift working and not very well....kept breaking down!!! Bar was very limited, no draught lagers/beers etc.
Central placed, good room No
Concierge service and the personal attention. We did not like the foam pillows but the hotel replaced them with brand new feather pillows after we asked for them.
A very comfortable hotel, courteous staff, champagne a nice touch. Breakfast continental - very good.
Everything very kind staff No
Newly decorated, great location
Staff very welcoming. Evening glass of champagne very nice touch. Breakfast room small but everything nice and fresh.
very pleasant clean and elegant room and good location
The concierge, Stephen, was a delight to work with and extremely helpful Hot water not always available and hard to control the heating system
The friendliness of the staff
Staff was kind, helpful, and accomodating We enjoyed our stay very much, however we feel that the mattress was too firm as well as the pillows.
The location is excellent for getting into the city, being very near Glouscester road tube station. Also great for Royal Albert Hall and museums. The room was very clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. Very nice bathroom, with a good shower, lovely complimentary toiletries, and the bathrobe and slippers added to our comfort. I loved being able to open the window and look out onto Cromwell road. The hotel is very quiet and we had an undisturbed nights sleep. We found the staff very pleasant and helpful, but unobtrusive. All in all a very pleasant stay, excellent value for that quality in Kensington. We would definately stay there again. No negatives.
Great hotel in a great location. Breakfast too expensive.
Easy access to Royal Albert Hall No drawers or shelves in room for putting clothes
For us it was the perfect location, the comfort of the beds a bonus and the price of the hotel was excellent for Kensington.
A good, well located hotel with easy access to the surrounding area. Would stay again, if in the area. Felt it was slightly overpriced.
Everything very new, felt very clean and fresh, pleasant room, polite and helpful staff. Easy walking distance to tube station and nearby restaurants Shower slightly small, not a problem for myself and daughter but possibly a bit on the tight side for persons of larger build.
Location, Large and confortable bed and good room Noise isolation not that good but ok
Exceptionally clean Staff with English as their first language is always a good start in a customer facing role, however the staff were efficient and courteous.
Nice decoration. My first pretty hotel in London. Space, good bed, products in bathroom. Breakfast is nice (you can ask for an omelett) and there is a machine to prepare a hot chocolate without extra fee. Noise in the room. Hotels here don't know the double-glasing system. Too Bad. It's a 3* for me.
Exceellent spacious and well appointed apartment in a covenient location No maid / cleaning service on Sundays / Bank Holidays meant that for 2 0f our 3 days there we did not have the sort of service you would expect fro a 3 / 4 * hotel
Ideal situation Hotel was undergoing alterations
Location, services and value for money Poor breakfast
location, apts ideal for familys very noisy room overlooking cromwell rd,plumbing abysmal
Room was tidy and spacious. Kitchenette would be great to use on longer stays. Soundproofing was non-existent, woke up to floorboards creaking which came from room above followed by sneezing that was easily heard through the wall from next door. TV was outdated.
Location was very good. Shower has two temperatures, freezing and burning. In the basement Apartment the street can be a bit noisy
Nice people. THe place is undergoing refurbishment so difficult to comment on the room decor as it was old and not up to standard (hence the low rate). The 1 bed apartment was spacious and just right as I had brought my parents along with me. Hope they keep to the same format when they refurbish the rooms. Door to balcony did not open
Good location, spacious room with good facilities
The hotel itself is beautifully designed, and the location is impossible to beat. The service was impeccable. Each time I needed assitance from the front desk, I was given all that I needed and more. The concierge team -- Mercy, Jessica and Ahmed - were amazing. They simply went out of their way to make everyting go as smoothly as possible. The breakfast is very good. And the public hang-out spaces are beautifully designed. The only possible downside of this terrific hotel is the size of the single, small room, which is very small. But it's well designed, and has a great energy. I find this deal hard to beat. Would stay there again in a heartbeat, and would return with my family as well.
The location is very good, close to Gloucester road Tube station, Tesco & various types of cafe. The air-con/heater is not working well, it has an automatic shut-off for 20-min. so my daughter & me were freezing cold in the London -2C during our 2-nite stay. There were also no face towels & floor mat provided.
The location was excellent. Our room was a good size but we found the bedding inadequate. A warmer duvet or blanket would have been welcome. The decor is dated and disappointing to find just a small tablet of soap for toiletries in a de luxe room.
The big surprise was no surprise. Received exactly what was paid for with good service and hospitality
Proximity to Glouster tube station, accomodating staff at front desk continental breakfast was extremely limited--at least a choice of rolls or breakfast items should be included
The television no bath
Oldfashioned hotel but the rooms were clean. Close to the undergroundstation. Good restaurants in the neighbourhood (but also fast-food). External parkingservice is OK.
The equipment of the room and hotel location
Excellent location Rooms too noisy, request an inside quieter room
Vewry nice tv/internet/movie system Nice room but the bathroom war very, very small
Price was more than hostel but less than other hotels in area. Very clean, good staff, pretty good free continental breakfast and good free WiFi. Very close to Gloucester Road Tube - two minutes walk. Lots or restaurants/shops nearby and about 5 blocks from Hyde Park - 10 minute walk. Had room for only one night while waiting for AirBnB for one week stay. Shared bath facilities could be a problem if hotel is crowded - it was not for my stay. Very small room but ok for solo.
Easy access to city shopping and museums. Cramped conditions
Compared to the general hotel standard of many London hotels, the standard of the Abcone Hotel was definitely above my expectations when considering the location and prize paid.
Hotel location is good. On a comparable basis to other hotels (even in UK) not good. I was very surprised at seeing the bed linen and towels spread on the hall floor, on each level. Not only was this were peple walked but the carpet was dirty. Hotel staff were unconcerned and said they did not use the bottom sheet. My reply is spend a few dollars and buy a small trolley. My guess 2/10
The exit Hotel too hot, room dirty hairs on carpet etc. Hotel Wi Fi rubbish.
Staff helpful and problem with toilet was dealt with very quickly. The soft furnishing, furniture, bathroom were fine but room was let down by a carpet which was in need of a good clean.
The staff were polite and friendly. It was close to where we needed to be. SIngle rooms were actually single beds! Carpets needed cleaning. Very expensive for what we got.
My room was very comfortable with an unusually nice bathroom for a small English hotel and plenty of towels. I had a pleasant view from my windows and several nice amenities. The location was very convenient and I would definitely use this hotel again. I do not eat breakfast so I cannot comment on the breakfast service.
It is very convenient for the Tube (just around the corner), museums and Albert Hall within easy walking distance. Quiet room at rear of hotel. Room on ground floor disappointing as carpet very stained, decor worn, no heating in the bathroom and hot water only tepid. Breakfast very basic, what is supposed to be organic?
nice room,good value for money
The location, the bathroom, the staff The continental breakfast had little variety. The water was warm to hot in all spigots and the toilet after early morning. Don't plan to drink it. No ice machine. Our fourth floor room was very warm (too warm) and this was October. An open window helped.
the shower non communicative staff
The location was excellent, close to the tube station, shopping mall, Harrod's and lots of small restaurants and pubs. Very little space, tiny room, narrow corridors. Reception staff not very attentive but generally polite.
Very clean very friendly and helpful good bathroom Bedroom extremly small, doule bed against the wall, ok as a single room.
In the perfect location for us. Comfortable, clean, modern room. Especially liked sleeping in and going out for breakfast at 10.
I was updated from a single to a double room and moved from the basement to the fourth floor without hesitation when I said I preferred to be on a higher level Ony thing I could fault is that the bar/communal area is not fully developed and lacked atmosphere - I'm sure this will come in time.
Easy to find location close to the tube and the natural history museum. Their weren't more facilities than I needed and the fixtures and fittings were to a high quality. Few teething type problems. No-one was on reception when I arrived and the motion sensor controlled light in the bathroom was so keen on saving energy I showered in the dark.
rooms were very clean and tidy, hotel has clearly been refurbished recently. the hotel is located at a busy road, so you hear the traffic. This however did not disturb us too much.
convenience, helpful staff reasonable price clean with modern facilities double room too small
Walking distance to Kings Road, Fulham Road, Stamford Bridge, Museums, Royal Albert Hall... Wifi works best in the lobby, I had problems connecting in my room.
Very clean everywhere. Hotel looked brand new! 3 minutes walk from Gloucester Rd tube station. Situated opposite the Natural History Museum. Small room!
Very decent and clean hotel, friendly staff, good location Breakfast is a bit too expensive considering there isn't much choice
