Travelers going to and from Maldives must fill in a Traveller Health Declaration (THD) within 24 hours prior to entry and from leaving the country.
Individuals who will visit the country as tourists must have a confirmed booking at a registered tourist facility during their entire stay.
Visitors from the United Kingdom must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 96 hours before departing to the Maldives.
Travelers are required to present a negative result of PCR taken 96 hours before departure from the first embarkation point to Maldives.
Children who are 1 year old and below are exempt from the test requirement
Travelers will also need to present a negative result of PCR test 72 hours prior to checking-out at their guesthouse.
Unvaccinated visitors from the United Kingdom will need to quarantine for days upon entering the Maldives.
Fully vaccinated visitors with approved vaccination certificates do not need to quarantine.
Unvaccinated Maldivians and work permit holders are required to complete the 14-day quarantine period. However, Work-Permit holders from South Asian Countries will need to undergo PCR testing within 48-72 hours of arrival and at the end of their quarantine period.
Travellers returning from the Maldives must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken 72 hours before departure to the United Kingdom.
Travelers are required to present a negative COVID-19 test (a PCR test, a LAMP test or an antigen test, such as an LFD (lateral flow device) test) taken any time in the 3 days before the departure date. If a traveler is changing flight, the test should be taken in the 3 days of the final departure point to UK.
The test result must be in either English, French or Spanish. Translations will not be accepted.
Travelers could be fined £500 if they are unable to present a pre-departure test.
Travelers from the Common Travel Area (the UK, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, Ascension, Falkland Islands and St Helena) and children who are 0-10 years old going to England (0-11 years old for children going to Wales, Scotland and NI) are exempt from the pre-departure testing requirement.
Visitors returning from the Maldives will need to quarantine for 10 days upon entering the United Kingdom.
All travelers including vaccinated individuals who are mandated to quarantine in a managed hotel must be administered with day 2 and day 8 test. They will be required to continue their quarantine period regardless of the result of their day 2 test. For travelers who have positive result, quarantine will start from the date after the result of their day 2 test and they no longer need to use the day 8 test.
For travelers who will have a positive result after using the day 8 test, they will need to quarantine further. They will have to finish the quarantine starting from the date after the result of their day 8 test.
Travelers who have both negative result for day 2 and day 8 test will be out of the 10-day quarantine from the day they arrived in the country.
Travelers going to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are advised to check further details regarding their quarantine.
Submit the form any time in the 48 hours before arriving in the UK. Show the form when checking in your plane, train or ferry to the UK.
All travelers arriving directly to Scotland are required to book their Managed Quarantine Package prior to travel.
