Most travelers can enter Bahamas, but there are restrictions. All travelers are required to opt-in for mandatory COVID-19 health insurance when submitting their Bahamas Travel Health Visa application. The insurance covers travelers for the duration of their stay in The Bahamas.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Visitors from the United Kingdom must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 120 hours before departing to The Bahamas.

Details and exceptions

Unvaccinated travelers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR result. The test must be taken a maximum of 5 days before arrival in The Bahamas. Travelers must upload the test to their Travel Health Visa application and have proof on arrival. This requirement does not apply to, travelers who are fully vaccinated and travelers under the age of 2.

Unvaccinated travelers who are staying in the Bahamas for more than 4 nights and 5 days will be required to take a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen test on day 5. The results must be submitted to the Ministry of Health online via the health travel website. This requirement does not apply to, travelers aged 11 years and younger, fully vaccinated visitors who have passed the 2 week immunity period traveling to the Bahamas or inter-island, and inter-island travelers who travel for longer than 4 nights and 5 days.

Quarantine requirements

Visitors from the United Kingdom are not required to quarantine after entering The Bahamas.

Travelers are not required to quarantine on arrival in the Bahamas. Travelers are allowed to move about and explore the destination beyond the confines of their hotel or other accommodations.

Travelers must fill the Bahamas Travel Health Visa application and receive confirmation before travel. Travelers under 18 years of age must be added to the parent or guardian account. Applications take up to 48 hours to process. <p>Unvaccinated Bahamian citizens or residents can not use a test taken in The Bahamas prior to travel for re-entry.</p>

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Unvaccinated travellers returning from The Bahamas must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken 72 hours before departure to the United Kingdom.

Fully vaccinated travellers with approved vaccination certificates do not need to present a negative COVID-19 test.

Details and exceptions

Qualified fully vaccinated travelers are not required to present a pre-departure test when traveling to England. However, they are still required to book and pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test which will be taken on or before day 2 after arrival in the country. An individual traveling to the country is considered fully vaccinated if he/she meets the qualification indicated here.

Travelers who are unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or those who are not qualified under the fully vaccinated rules are required to present a pre-departure test (to be taken any time in the 3 days before the departure date), day 2 and day 8 PCR tests. They may check the pricelist and order the test thru these authorized testing providers.

Travelers could be fined £500 if they are unable to present a pre-departure test.

Travelers from the Common Travel Area (the UK, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, Ascension, Falkland Islands and St Helena) are exempt from the test requirement.

Quarantine requirements

Unvaccinated visitors returning from The Bahamas will need to quarantine for 10 days upon entering the United Kingdom.

Fully vaccinated visitors with approved vaccination certificates do not need to quarantine.

Details and exceptions

Travelers who are unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or those who are not qualified under the fully vaccinated rules arriving from non-red list countries are required to quarantine at home or in the place they are staying for 10 days.

Permitted travelers from the red list countries are mandated to quarantine in a managed hotel. They must be administered with day 2 and day 8 test. They will be required to continue their quarantine period regardless of the result of their day 2 test. For travelers who have positive result, quarantine will start from the date after the result of their day 2 test and they no longer need to use the day 8 test.

For travelers who will have a positive result after using the day 8 test, they will need to quarantine further. They will have to finish the quarantine starting from the date after the result of their day 8 test.

Travelers who have both negative result for day 2 and day 8 test will be out of the 10-day quarantine from the day they arrived in the country.

Travelers going to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are advised to check further details regarding their quarantine requirement.
