Everything was perfect
the hotel is so close to the theatres on the Strand and Covent Garden, it makes it so convenient. There was nothing I didn't like but thought the £8 charge for an ice bucket from room service was a bit steep!
location was excellent The room should be renewed as soon as possible. They sold the London of map. It should be free of charge.
Very central location, good value for money
This is the best location in London, steps from Covent Garden, an easy walk across the Waterloo Bridge, convenient to theaters. Thanks to recent renovations, rooms are contemporary and comfortable; staff is friendly and helpful. I have been staying here off and on for more than 25 years! The food continues to be marginal at best, and not a good value for the money. Fortunately, there are many good and reasonably-priced restaurants nearby.
I liked the location, and the clean, bright room that had good bathroom space and a reasonable work surface. Similarly priced rooms in London are often very cramped and/or quite worn down. a really nice (and necessary, in our case) feature of the room is the sliding solid wood shutters that completely seal off outside light. This was my third or fourth stay at the sph. The weatherstripping around the windows was completely shot and ineffective, so if we had the shutters open, a powerful draft whipped through the room. There was a cold snap in London at the time, so the result was that we couldn't open the shutters and curtains to enjoy daylight. Also, as our room was over The Strand, it was very noisy at night. However, I would definitely stay again
The room was just big enough and was practical. The bathroom was excellent. TV was provided. I would like to be able to make more than 2 cups of tea or coffee! I take sugar and that was in limited supply.
Service was excellent, especially Francesco who made us welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. The hotel was extremely clean and very close to the metro station and Trafalgar Square Room was on the small side.
Staff was really friendly and ready to help.

good location, good service
Everyone is polite and not overbearing. The room although we felt is was quite small it was peaceful and very clean. The only point was a dirty wet cloth left on the wardrobe shelve which was a little unpleasant,
The room was fantastic with view over the Thames, Bed very good and quite and the Hotel is tucked out of the way but in easy access to all of London We did not get a warm welcome at reception, They tried to put us in 2 single beds when I had booked river view doudle. They would not take my word so I had to go back to the car to get our booking. It is also hard to get a cab from this hotel.
Reception staff were really good, consierge was equally as good. Nice welcome, and fire in lobby. A lady in the restaurant for breakfast was very good, I think her name was Pam. Breakfast was really not great, firstly the lady who seated us, asked if we wanted coffee and toast, then none arrived had to ask again for it, same with ordering some porridge it came 15 minutes later, but was like gruel, quite surprised that a 5 star hotel kitchen can't make porridge. Overall a little bit too structured and formal, but lacked professionalism in the restaurant.
Comfortable room, so close to all the attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful.The electric curtains were a 11 yr olds idea of luxury!
The service was outstanding and good position in the city. I recommend this hotel to everybody.
The welcome and service of all the staff. Everyone especially the Hungarian gentleman bent over backwards to make an extra effort every single time I approached them. More likely they approached me quicker, to help with my pushchair and baby. They were polite and fantastic. Your real asset!! The towels had an awful smell (I have a sensitive nose). My room was no 847. When I enetered the room I could smell the pigeons in fact I looked at the window sill and sure enough there was pigeon poo - and the windows hadn't been cleaned in some time? There was no child quilt / blanket provided with the cot (and, although the cot was provided, I had to ask for this to be made). The staff could be taught level one english.
rooms spacious and very clean. staff very helpful and friendly. well situated for site seeing and close commuting facilities to explore the rest of london. no spa facilities that i was made aware of.
It would be a good 4 star hotel. good heating and hot showers. food was barely edible, always stale. reception service is appalling. In desperate need of refurbishment, old TVs, design. It was just a bed and a bathroom, not a 5 star hotel.
Peaceful room and comfortable beds. Harp being played as we arrived. Good location. We were needing a relaxing night before travelling to Lyon through the French rail strikes and we awoke refreshed and content. Thanks! Decor a bit over ornate in places. (Ribbons over pictures etc). Not much in fridge except someones left over lunch. Quite a surprise!
The hotel is in a very convenient location and the tube station within walking distance. The theatre district is within 5 minutes, Soho and Leicester Square are within 10 minutes walk. The hotel has a nice bar. The hotel is a converted insurance company
This hotel is in the best location for theater, restaurants, shopping and art. We were two couples and had the best time. Everything was perfect

A very modern hotel in a fantastic central location. The room was small but spotlessly clean and very comfortable. No coffee/tea making facilities in the room. Refused entry to the Light Bar because we hadn't booked - since when did you have to book to have a drink in a bar? This also meant we couldn't actually use the vouchers for the complimentary cocktails!
A different experience. The staff greeted me by my first name which I like a lot. Interior design is cool, I loved candles in the bathroom. Couldn't log on to the Internet with my iPad although I was charged the Internet service - which was advertised as free upon booking :-(
I am a Global Member; this is the reason I continue to stay at this gorgeous hotel in a city full of gorgeous hotels.
Unable to open windows and air conditioning is noisy and suffocating.

The staff were A1 and very helpful and the manager Jose was very proffesional Maybe a little too dark in the lift and l could not see the buttons to push

Good location, friendly staff, stylish rooms
We traveled in from Heathrow and the hotel was close to the underground stop. Easy walking distance to all major landmarks. Staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast in the morning was awesome. the 110 outlet in our room had a plug broken into it making it unusable.
it is a beautiful hotel with excellent room facilities. there was a power cut within the hotel there was not an acceptable contingency plan to overcome the problems that were encounted, hence the hotel rating.
Friendly, efficient and professional staff! A very minor point. The music in the restaurant at breakfast was rather funereal and repetetive.

Perfect location for shopping and theater in London. Excellent breakfast in a beautiful ballroom. Nice champagne bar for a drink before dinner. Some rooms are very small and hsave no heating in the bathroom.
The wait time for everything was exceedingly slow. A food order could take over 90 min for delivery. The rooms were not sound proof you could here every person who walked by and what they were saying. The staff were not trained for a hotel of that price. The breakfast selection was mediocre and the same everyday for the 9 days I was there. The hotels decor is old and outdated. It was difficult to even have a bottle of water delivered. The food was less and average.
lack of attention to detail.
Location is excellent - very convenient for Covent Garden and transport links. Most of our destinations were within a 10 minute walk. Our room was on the inner courtyard so quiet and peaceful. We had been concerned that the bathroom might prove a problem ( from reading earlier reviews) but although the door is frosted glass, it was not possible to view the occupant from the bed. We enjoyed a full breakfast on both mornings without any delay in service. All colleagues were keen to ensure that every detail ran smoothly. We did n't expect a bath in the bathroom( only a shower) so were delighted at the opportunity for a soak before our evening out. The umbrella came in handy for the unexpected shower on the first night out. We used the spa on the first evening- a little disappointed at the state of decoration. Nearly slipped on the floor when I stepped of the matting. Just to clarify that the spa is run by another company.
Excellent location just off the Strand. Friendly and helpful staff, and great breakfast included in my stay. Rooms are a little small. Also not much of an open lounge area for waiting around or hanging out, but tight space is to be expected for the location.

Excellent location, friendly staff, good size of the room. Breakfast was very good. Room orientation towards the internal court, the view from the window was completely disturbed by the presence of metallic plate.

The service and kind staff. 1. We booked a junior suite with "great view over London" and added to our booking request that this view was of the essence. The junior suite did not have such a view and the staff told us that no junior suite has such a view. Other rooms do. We feel mislead because an important part of the reason why we booked an expensive hotel/room was the view. 2. The hotel did not answer any of our 3 e-mails over a period of 2 months. 3. We called the hotel in order to double check our reservation. The reservation was not found and the hotel would call us back. They did not so we had to call them back.
For those that wish to make the most of going out in London during the evening, the hotel is the ideal location.Staff were very welcoming, at time a little too much.

The hotel is located right in the centre of London,ideal for theatres and shopping and the staff were particularly friendly and helpful, Rather expensive !
Location was excellent Rooms were not up to usual Radisson standards, Rooms were very small, bed was too short for tall people.
The way I was welcomed and treated by the staff was superb. The breakfast wasn't particularly tasty (a bit cheap) and coffee was watery.
The Location There was a queue for breakfast. Also it was difficult to understand the English spoken by the staff.
The courtesy of the staff was very good and one was made to feel nothing was a bother. The room was very comfortable. There was a fair amount of outside street noise in the room which took a night to get used to.

Spectacular in every way Not being able to stay longer
The Savoy stay was one of the most exceptional stays that I have had -- extraordinary from the moment the taxi door opened. I needed a rest and wanted to visit London, and the Savoy was worth every penny. Location is perfect. Food and service were outstanding -- didn't feel the need to leave for an outside restaurant. Breakfast, high tea and dinners were delicious. High Tea was conceivably the best I have every experienced. Room was like a cocoon, and their baths are legendary. Will be back soon for another break. I was disappointed that the spa and pool were closed for renovation.
despite being over motor court, room was very quiet, everything was well designed, staff was extremely helpful, bathroom was tremendous, restaurant was great. Very little (if anything) to actually complain about. Top-notch. gym facilities were modest as was pool, but not a terribly big deal as most hotel gyms have a limited offer.
What's not to like! Everything was outstanding! The hotel staff couldn't be more friendly, anything you needed they got it for you! Just wish it wasn't so pricey otherwise we would go more often!
The location in Leicester Square was very nice, and the hotel seemed to be a popular place to visit. I received the worst treatment possible from the managerial staff. Firstly, even though they had my reservation, which was made and confirmed a month and a half in advance, they decided that they didn't have any room available for me to stay in when I arrived to check in. I found this to be very unprofessional since they could have called me or emailed me prior to my arrival at the hotel to give me a forewarning so that I could plan ahead as well. The situation was worsened by the staff then relaying this information to me in a very condescending manner in which they had the very unapologetic tone of "take it or leave it". Secondly, they decided that a fair way to "compensate" me would be by reserving a room in another hotel on my behalf, without any input from me regarding choice, and then giving me a ride to this new hotel. I specifically chose the W for my stay and did not choose the other hotel when making my initial plans. So, the manager felt he could take the payment for the room at the W, decide that they no longer have a room at the W, then deny me the choice of an alternative hotel, and all without the option of a refund. They said they were compensating me, but I feel that they cheated me greatly. It was terrible customer service. Eventually, I had no choice but to take their offer of staying at the other property, which I didn't want to stay in, since they were not going to make any room available for me at the W for the night. Truthfully, I feel there were a bunch of racial undertones and biases based on the unprofessional, condescending, unempathetic, and unapologetic tone of the manager and staff. I have stayed at many hotels around the world. This has been, by far, my worst experience with any hotel staff regarding a reservation.
Over charger $2k with a forced apology
Everything was great, a bit expensive but that's central London. Nice Bar and pool. There was a cold draft coming from the old windows and the heat did not really heat the room. However, when we brought this to the attention of staff they came up within 5 minutes with an electric heater, and the next day called to make sure everything was OK. Breakfast could be included in the high cost of the room.

It's location, being within short walking distance of most of the interesting places in London Arriving by car stopping at a bus stop in front of the hotel to get the luggage out of the car. The attendants were very prompt though.

Everything about this stay was great. The room was beautiful and clean, the bathroom was spacious with lots of shelf space for our stuff. the staff was wonderful. the location is ideal, and they had a big lounge for guests. It's expensive but worth it.
