Travelers who are going to Costa Rica are not required to provide a negative PCR test result or undergo a quarantine.
Travelers need to check if they can enter the country with or without a visa.
All travelers, except tourists who are 0-18 years old and fully vaccinated individuals should fill out the Health Pass 72 hours prior to their departure date.
Unvaccinated tourists, tourists with incomplete vaccination and tourists administered with vaccine other than Moderna, PfizerBioNTech, AstraZeneca or Janssen will need to present a travel insurance that covers lodging and medical expenses in case of contracting COVID-19. The required medical insurance should have a guaranteed $50,000 for medical expenses and $2000 for lodging expenses. Costa Rican citizens, tourists under the age of 18 and tourists vaccinated with approved vaccines in Costa Rica are exempt from presenting a health insurance.
Fully vaccinated individuals are recognized if they have been inoculated with Moderna, PfizerBioNTech, AstraZeneca or Janssen. Vaccine should have been administered 14 days after the end of vaccination process before entry to the country. The vaccine certificate must be attached to the Health Pass.

The Health Pass can only be completed within 72 hours of arriving in the country. One form must be completed per person, including minors, without exception.
Travellers returning from Costa Rica must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken 72 hours before departure to the United Kingdom.
Travelers are required to present a negative COVID-19 test (a PCR test, a LAMP test or an antigen test, such as an LFD (lateral flow device) test) taken any time in the 3 days before the departure date. If a traveler is changing flight, the test should be taken in the 3 days of the final departure point to UK.
The test result must be in either English, French or Spanish. Translations will not be accepted.
Travelers could be fined £500 if they are unable to present a pre-departure test.
Travelers from the Common Travel Area (the UK, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, Ascension, Falkland Islands and St Helena) and children who are 0-10 years old going to England (0-11 years old for children going to Wales, Scotland and NI) are exempt from the pre-departure testing requirement.
Visitors returning from Costa Rica will need to quarantine for 10 days upon entering the United Kingdom.
All travelers including vaccinated individuals who are mandated to quarantine in a managed hotel must be administered with day 2 and day 8 test. They will be required to continue their quarantine period regardless of the result of their day 2 test. For travelers who have positive result, quarantine will start from the date after the result of their day 2 test and they no longer need to use the day 8 test.
For travelers who will have a positive result after using the day 8 test, they will need to quarantine further. They will have to finish the quarantine starting from the date after the result of their day 8 test.
Travelers who have both negative result for day 2 and day 8 test will be out of the 10-day quarantine from the day they arrived in the country.
Travelers going to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are advised to check further details regarding their quarantine.
Submit the form any time in the 48 hours before arriving in the UK. Show the form when checking in your plane, train or ferry to the UK.
All travelers arriving directly to Scotland are required to book their Managed Quarantine Package prior to travel.
