COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Unvaccinated visitors from the United Kingdom must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken less than 24 hours before departing to France.

Fully vaccinated visitors with approved vaccination certificates do not need to present a negative COVID-19 test.

Details and exceptions

Unvaccinated travelers arriving from Cyprus, Greece, Malta, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal or United Kingdom must present a negative PCR or antigenic test taken less than 24 hours before boarding to France.

Children who are 12 years old and below are exempt from test requirement.

Quarantine requirements

Unvaccinated visitors from the United Kingdom will need to quarantine for 7 days upon entering France.

Fully vaccinated visitors with approved vaccination certificates do not need to quarantine.

Details and exceptions

Unvaccinated travelers with compelling reasons arriving from "Orange Countries" will be randomly tested upon arrival in France. They must pledge to self-isolate for 7 days.

Unvaccinated travelers arriving from the "Red Countries" are required to quarantine for ten (10) days.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travellers returning from France must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken 72 hours before departure to the United Kingdom.

Details and exceptions

Travelers are required to present a negative COVID-19 test (a PCR test, a LAMP test or an antigen test, such as an LFD (lateral flow device) test) taken any time in the 3 days before the departure date. If a traveler is changing flight, the test should be taken in the 3 days of the final departure point to UK.

The test result must be in either English, French or Spanish. Translations will not be accepted.

Travelers could be fined £500 if they are unable to present a pre-departure test.

Travelers from the Common Travel Area (the UK, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, Ascension, Falkland Islands and St Helena) and children who are 0-10 years old going to England (0-11 years old for children going to Wales, Scotland and NI) are exempt from the pre-departure testing requirement.

Quarantine requirements

Unvaccinated visitors returning from France will need to quarantine for 10 days upon entering the United Kingdom.

Fully vaccinated visitors with approved vaccination certificates do not need to quarantine.

Details and exceptions

All travelers including vaccinated individuals who are mandated to quarantine in a managed hotel must be administered with day 2 and day 8 test. They will be required to continue their quarantine period regardless of the result of their day 2 test. For travelers who have positive result, quarantine will start from the date after the result of their day 2 test and they no longer need to use the day 8 test.

For travelers who will have a positive result after using the day 8 test, they will need to quarantine further. They will have to finish the quarantine starting from the date after the result of their day 8 test.

Travelers who have both negative result for day 2 and day 8 test will be out of the 10-day quarantine from the day they arrived in the country.

Travelers going to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are advised to check further details regarding their quarantine.
