Top tips for finding cheap flights to Albania

  • Enter your preferred departure airport and travel dates into the search form above to unlock the latest Albania flight deals.
  • Consider flying to Tirana International Airport (TIA) once you find cheap flights to Albania. The airport is approximately 11 miles from the city centre. Thus, you should consider taking a bus, taxi or car hire. The taxi takes about 20 minutes to get to the downtown area, while the Rina Express shuttle takes about 30 minutes.
  • Worry not if travelling to Albania with mobility limitations. Tirana International Airport has mobility facilities, including elevators, wheelchair ramps, adaptable washrooms, and low-hanging telephones. A special assistance team will also help you on arrival at the airport. Ensure you alert your airline at least 48 hours before your flight if travelling with mobility limitations.
  • If planning a vacation to Albania from Britain, you will enjoy a 90 days visa free period. In case you need to stay for more than 90 days, you need to apply for a residence permit in the nearest police station. Your passport must also be valid for at least 3 month from when you enter Albania. Alternatively, you can use the UK emergency travel document to visit Albania.
  • There is only one international airport in Albania that receives all international flights, and there are no domestic flights within Albania, so any further connections on from your flight into Tirana International Airport (TIA) will have to be made by road or rail.
  • If you are looking at flights to Albania to visit the resort town of Saranda, you will need to fly into Tirana and hire a car for the remainder of the journey, which is approximately 168 mi, or you could consider flying from the UK into neighbouring Corfu, which is 21 mi from Albania, and taking a ferry across to Saranda.
  • If you are travelling with children and hiring a car from the airport, it is important to note that if they are under the age of 4, it is mandatory to have a child car seat. This can be rented at the airport along with the car. Children under the age of 4 can travel short distances in a regular taxi without a child car seat, however you can also arrange for private transfer services from Tirana Airport that will provide car seats for children.
  • Another option you might consider when travelling to Albania is to book a flight into the airport in Skopje in neighbouring North Macedonia and then travel by road from there to Albania. Alternatively, you could book a flight into Thessaloniki in Greece, which offers cheaper flights with budget airlines, and then travel by road or rail to Albania.
  • As it is difficult to change Albanian currency (ALL) outside of Albania, you will be pleased to know it is possible to obtain ALL when you land at the airport by using an ATM or, if you prefer, by changing cash at the foreign exchange counter, which will accept major currencies such as the EUR, GBP and USD. While most larger hotels and businesses accept major credit and debit cards, you may need cash to take a taxi from the airport.

I paid for carry-on bag, but they did not let me take it on board, persuaded to check it in because the flight was full. I agreed to help them out, and they mixed up tag numbers and my bag got lost. I had very valuable things in there, and my whole vacation experience was ruined. I even asked the boarding assistant why the tag number was different from the assigned one, but they assured me it was alright and the bag will arrive to my destination. Nothing arrived of course. Incompetence of boarding assistants cost me the loss of all my things.

Again, delays. That route from VIE to RMO gets regular delay all the time.

They lost our luggage and there has been no news for 5 days. I called their office and they said they can’t help us, we don’t do anything about it.

There was not enough sparkling water and beer during the flight. Coffee was not hot

There was not enough sparkling water available during the flight from LAX to Vienna.

Very nice and comfy flight , and sharp on the time

One hour delay to board. The plane is tiny and 100 years old. Many passengers have been asked to check in their carry-on bags. This is although the bags were within weight and volume limits. The plane is just too small so they are essentially overbooking carry-ons. No entertainment whatsoever. No overhead TV and of course no personal screens. Food, if you can call a lukewarm toast "food", was edible at best. Craw was very nice, polite, and welcoming. They are not at fault that the airline is XXXing on their clients.

Vienna airport substandard Bathroom down flight of stairs and no elevator Lack of gates required bus transport to off load

The plane was clean, seats were spacious and the crew was very friendly and very helpful. The food serve was as per the request.

No delays, helpful staff, well organised. The check in and boarding procedures ran smoothly. The only thing that put me off is that the meal had spicy peppers in. I would have appreciated at least a warning (if i couldn't have a choice) so as to simply not eat them because they were too spicy.

Ryanair is always shite. Slowest boarding possible in the most uncomfortable way. It’s like they are are tad sadistic.

Flight was delayed which happens but walking 15 mins to one gate to be then told it’s now changed to one 15 mins back then other way was frustrating

East check in and security. They are always delayed though. ALWAYS!

Amazed at huge number of people who hadn’t booked cabin bags with big troller cases and rucksacks, not being stopped, what’s the point in following rules or paying more if you don't have to bother?

Worse situation ever. Arriving at 4 am with 7 Hours of delay

Booked extra legroom seats but as plane had changed we ended up with normal seats. Very little attempt from staff to sort it out

It was delayed and there was no apology or any updates as to why. It was genuinely awful

It got us their! Delays Delays delayed, flight got in well after specified time, rental car firms shut at 11pm!!!! So from £300 for car to £689.. thank you Ryanair....

The distance between seats was narrow. So my recommendation is to increase it

Very good, everything went straight forward, boarding, during the flight, landing and all on time Well done

Entertainment was good. Food was OK. Cab crew was great.

We were never contacted that our flight from Glasgow to London was delayed. Got to airport six hours early to find that we were going to miss our connecting flight to BWI. Our flight is scheduled for two days later and they only gave us a voucher for one night hotel. E we’re delayed on the front end too and had to fly to Edinburgh instead of Glasgow arriving six hours and taking a $200 cab!

Usual friendly BA crew who were helpful and so kind to the kids. New business class cabin combined with 787 makes for a really enjoyable experience.

Overall flight experience was good. Unfortunately our process getting to our flight was a hit or miss. Our flight was delayed perhaps for the best as getting from terminal to terminal is very long and security had problems with the machines that delayed us getting to our flight. Heathrow security could care-less that you have a flight you are about to miss!

Horrible. Crew is not helpful. Lounge is sub standard and overcrowded. Getting to your plane is underwhelming “via a bus”. Worst experience I have had.

I liked nothing, my connection was missed after a 6hr delay, 3 of those hours were spent trapped on the tarmac going nowhere. They rebooked me with a different airline for the next day but never confirmed my seat, so I had to wait another entire day… after walking around an airport for the whole first day waiting for the front desk to open to get my ticket. A 19hr trip turned into an 80+hr trip. Of course, British airways has no actual customer complaint phone line, so I have heard nothing at all from the airline. Oh, and they lost my bag. This trip cost an additional $3000, several days of missed free time, and some agonizing discomfort from so much wandering around airports and venice trying to find replacement clothing. This sucked.

The online flight scheduler only assigned 3 hours to get from Gatwick to heathrow. This is not enough time for a normal transit between the two airports. I had to run and hire a taxi because the bus and train would take too long. After paying a 150 Taxi I arrived at the gate just before it closed.

Our flight BA638 was cancelled with very short notice. It was supposed to depart at 7:25am. We had left Chichester at 3:30am in order to make the flight, and we were notified of the cancellation while en route to LHR. We were told the cancellation was necessary because a plane had not been scheduled to be at LHR for this flight! We were rescheduled to BA636. This flight was supposed to depart at 11:00am but didn't actually take off until ~12:30pm. Consequently we arrived in Athens several hours late, missing out on half a day of our sightseeing time. We had booked transport with MyTransfers to pick us up at the Athens airport and drive us to our Hotel Adonis. I was unable to get a refund for this service because our flight was so delayed. They required 24 hour notice of pick up time changes. I instead had to pay for a taxi at the airport. I have tried to fill out a request for compensation online but have been unsuccessful. How can I get help for filing a claim?

I had to wait for 10 hours at the airport and no hotel accommodation was provided. That sucks big time.

They can't seem to deliver a delayed bag in less than a week. Is this the 19th century?

Were delayed in the airport for 5 hours with no explanation. Flight kept getting delayed by an hour at a time and wizz air staff were no where to be found

The flight was delayed 5 hours and I'm and invalid,I wan a refund for this

The cabin crew on that flight were super fantastic and super helpful. They were so polite and considerate that i felt i travelled with a 5star airline.

Delayed delayed delayed - always with Wizzair. Staff were friendly and well mannered but clearly the company is unorganized and the aircrafts are outdated.

It's a budget airline. Great for short flight. Smooth landing.

4 hr delay and only told less than 2hrs before. Only given water and nuts on the flight as complimentary service. Left to wait in rain before boarding.

To be honest I did not like anything. Communication to why my flight was cancelled mid air 2 and half hours into my flight. Customer service desk were not helpful with providing information or a solution on what can be done.

I have been treated unacceptably by WizzAir aircraft crew in a previous flight, they threatened me and abused me, and I received an OFFICIAL written apology, but only two (2) months later. This flight had no such unacceptable behaviour, but it's not nice to be left waiting in the walkway (from gate to aircraft) for a long time, just so that the 'boarding' appears to be early, even if actual departure is not.

What I liked new airplane Sitting was extremely uncomfortable! Crew not smiley at all Always chewing gum

The flight was cancelled just 4 hours before the take off...

Boarding was started early and we were lined up in. A glass tunnel on the tarmac we were left standing there for an hour with no information the flight left and arrived 30 mins late

It was great. We arrived a few minutes late but the crew were concert and kind about it. It was a nice smooth fly thanks be to Jesus. I prayed for smooth flight and Yahuwah answered my prayer.

Need more check in desks at Marrakech. Even if you are travelling with hand luggage only, you still need to 'check in' to get the old style boarding pass. Unfortunately they haven't thought to separate out the people checking in luggage to a separate desk. Flight was delayed leaving but arrived on time. Limited food options on board and very overpriced.

We bought tickets for £30 from kayak but we paid £55 for check in to rayan , they slaught us

Flight was delayed so long we missed our second flight. Entire trip had to be cancelled. Ryanair refused to help us.

Stanton airport is outdated, pure equiped, airport. Fire alarms, power outages is a common routine, wich result ir flights delay , additional money spending and huge gathering of people in airport wich is unsafe.

After you made us check-in I tried to add a suitcase in the internet and also to get help by chet. Nothing work and we pay 60 pounds at Airport. Comper to Easyjet to do the same, was easy and customer friendly.

Boarding was like being hoarded like cattle, all penned in in an area way to small

I missed the flight from Manchester to Dublin because of poor informations from Aer Lingus and the airport, no possibility to check in online, they don't respond to phone calls, I had to buy another tickets to enable me travel to Dublin from Manchester. I want my money to refund.

Rude check in staff. Split family up with young children.
